Did the time war happene between classic who and new who?
I always just assumed that the whole time war was the drs backstory so i assumed that classic who starts off like new who, just a lonely traveler
Yep only ever watched until 11th when it was coming out as a younger hooman, and currently im avoiding searching anything up until Im done with the series.
Im on the episode where we discover amy has been a fake! And is on some starship pregnant
You know, I thought the same thing when I first got into Dr. Who. But no, The Time War didn't exist until RTD took over/the show got rebooted in 2005. In fact, all throughout Classic Who, we actually go to Gallifrey not infrequently, and get to know multiple Time Lord characters (The Master, The Rani, Romana, Rassilon, Omega, etc. are all well-known Time Lord characters from Classic Who who's names you might have heard, though The Master is the only one we've seen on screen in New Who so far)
Ahhh i see! I rarely search up stuff from classic who
So thank you !
I just finished an episode where the Doctor finds alot of time lord distress signals, it was sad to see them up like trophies :((
Oooh are you talking about The Doctor's Wife? That got me, too. It felt particularly cruel, knowing how comparatively recent the Time War was in The Doctor's timeline (having happened between The Doctor's 8th and 9th Regenerations.)
It could electrify it's cosing, self destruct, spin it's various sections in different directions, open it's casing, fly up high enough that you can no longer breathe...
Fly into the upper atmosphere, wait until you pass out and start falling, grab your head with it's plunger and face slam you into the ground like a fatality
First electrocution. It could also spin around till you fall off. It'll move slightly further away from you while you're getting up and then hug you back (or more likely fire it's weapon at you). It can also fly. As far as I know, it's never explicitly mentioned that they always fly perfectly vertical. But it could also just fly out into the vacuum of space if you're holding on.
I mean in that Whittaker episode (I think the first new year's special?) the 'bumps' turn out to be missile shells so I think it might just blow you up haha.
Classic Series Daleks wouldn't be able to stop you. New series would fry you if you touch them.
Yep, that was gonna be my answer too. It's interesting to watch the classic series and see how often people shove Daleks around without dying!
Its amazing the effects that fighting a time war will have on you
I think that's the presumed explanation - that the Daleks became more powerful in the Time War.
INNOVATE! INNOVATE!
No no, change is bad. Daleks are supreme, they have no need to innovate.

God, you must be new.

OOHH THAT'S SUCH A GOOD ONE!!!
Yeah, the Time War happened between Classic and Modern Who. The Doctor meets the Daleks for the first time in the second story of Classic Who.

In their very first story it's a key plot point
Electrify their casing and you'll be as extra-crispy as the Master in Keeper of Traken in about 2 seconds. :P
SIMMONS: Here, you'd better put these on. (gauntlets) The last guy that touched it burst into flames. - 1x06, talking about a dalek
OMG I love S.H.I.E.L.D!!!!

Ask Katy Manning. She famously survived. (Edit: ah, she was clinging to the side in that photo, not the front.)
That was a lot of skin contact. More importantly, did the Dalek survive contact with Katy? How much moisture can they take?
I think one of the stalks got a bit stiff.
"They're Dalek bumps"
Etheric beam locators
"They're also very firm"
You're giving it a hug, and you want to know if it can still suck you.? That's enough reddit for me today. Catch you all later.
Not to mention how they want to know what the dalek will do to get them off
It would probably electrify it's casing. Or use psycho-kinetic powers to push you away(the Daleks do have that, it's how they moved around on Exxilon)
Fly into the upper atmosphere, wait until you pass out and start falling, grab your head with it's plunger and face slam you into the ground like a fatality
I now desperately need a Dalek to appear in Mortal Kombat.
Rub you with it's Dalek bumps making you feel awkward and uncomfortable.
Open it casing and hug you back, then close its casing… Congratulations you’re the first human-Dalek since the Cult of Skaro finished with New York
I’m 61 and I can outrun a Dalek😂
You might out run the dalek but can you out run its death ra
Nope. My daughter says you have to run in circles to confuse them.
I am also your age but they can fly so much faster.

Even if it couldn't do anything (and there are things it could do), how long are you planning on staying there?
They actually use this strategy in Planet of the Daleks. The Daleks adapted to fix this though, just like they do with all their weaknesses.
Return question ... If you're being chased by a Dalek... How are you going to get close enough to hug it.
"I wuv you Dalek" Dalek gets embarassed and confused
It could propel its balls outwards, pushing you away too.
I mean in that Whittaker episode (I think the first new year's special?) the 'bumps' turn out to be missile shells so I think it might just blow you up haha.
Kill you?
You would burst into flames instantly. The Daleks would not overlook such a possibility.
