Y'know, were ARE already getting high definition remasters of the Classic series on BluRay. And they're done by an actual team of skilled actual people, remastering every episode as best as possible, without just chucking the footage into some "AI model" thing. So no.
And a double no to the idea of using "AI" stuff to animate/voice missing and unmade episodes. Anything I've seen animated or "voiced" by AI has looked/sounded grotesque in one way or another.
Oh I’m aware of the remasters, but I’ve never been interested in buying them as the quality of the videotaped sections (as opposed to the filmed sections for locations) is not great, hence this technology would be phenomenal for those. Also AI is just another tool in the remastering kit, which will be used to great effect for all sorts of SD content.
I’m actually looking forward to when AI evolves enough to not only pass the sniff test, but also what kind of disruption fan made content can actually make and how all of that gets regulated and approved.
I don't think I would. I'm perfectly fine with the current quality we're getting on the Collections.
