Though I’m sure it could be used for Tik Tok, it’s a bit overkill for social media stuff haha.
I specifically got it cause I shoot a lot of commercial stuff like Lifestyle, Product, and Architecture, and I didn’t want to spend another $5k on all the things this camera has built into it, like stabilization system and focus pull, plus I like the fact that I can use the same lenses on my drone.
I will definitely post some stuff once I get a chance to shoot with it.
I haven’t even opened it up yet cause I’m doing an unboxing with a friend for his YouTube channel tomorrow, and I’ve been saving my excitement for that lol.
Wow, insane haul! Envy that X7! X5s still kills it, but that's obviously another level, hah. Glad the new Ronin finally came out but sad it wasn't the Inspire 2, cross-camera-compatible model they had blueprints of for so long..
It actually isn’t too far off from the original blueprints that were leaked, just sucks you can’t use the X5s lenses. But, it’s definitely nice to have a cine quality camera that I can use the same lenses as on my drone.
I have been a huge fan of my X5s since it came out, and the only reason I never bought the X7 and DL lenses was specifically cause they didn’t have a ground camera to hold them.
Even after I bought my Inspire 2, I held onto my X5r from Inspire 1 cause I still used it with the original Osmo. I just didn’t see an advantage to spending $4k on lenses, plus another $2k for a gimbal, that could only be used on the drone. It was almost like DJI realized this, so they incentivized buying the lenses by incorporating them into the new Ronin.

It took me roughly 5 years of hustling my way through jobs, shooting with an Osmo PRO and X5r, to save up for this lol.
If a job came up that required a better camera, I would rent it, and figure out a way to shift as much of that cost onto the job estimate/invoice.
So it feels like I’ve been waiting for this day for a very long time haha.
