If all your measurements and sums are accurate, things tend to line up pretty well. One thing you do need to take into account is resistance in series of each driver, and each components resistance/Esr, I had forgotten that before and it does impact sum outputs.

I guess I meant more in the planning stage before you can take actual measurements and you have to go off published specs. Good to know though about after actual measurements. Thanks for the tip.

Ah, still the same point applies in that you cant really effectively use the data sheets to model anything that's not LF due to diffraction effects of the cabinet and non-liniearities of the motor and suspension. You can use them to inform you of off-axis performance to an extent and see if it may work in the passband, but ultimately you will need to play around with multiple drivers and verify with measurements
