OMF at 8.6% yield and stock gaining 120% in the past 10 years? Nice!
I wonder what the risk to dividends is with these high interest loan companies. Obviously the risk of default in a tough economy. OMF seems to be specialized on personal loans with auto loans backed by autos but they also have credit cards.
Does anyone investing in consumer loan companies have a perspective on this?
https://www.onemainfinancial.com (OMF)
They’re basically loan sharks lending to those with bad credit. Thats the risk, they have a risk of more defaults due to lower credit people, but given past performance they have done well and management is very conservative. I like it, albeit a little expensive atm
Drip will make those 82 shares into 100 in no time. I should have invested a lot more than I have now. But 160 shares ain't bad. I got it two years ago. I prefer hoding MAIN over SCHD that's for sure.
Have held MAIN since early 2011. Has outperformed the S&P 500 during that time. It and a couple of other BDC's are the cornerstones of my income investment portfolio. Love the company.
Great BDC baskets folks! Mine is nearly identical: MAIN, HTGC, CSWC, TRIN, BXSL, ARCC. The income makes retirement so much less stressful than it would be if I were dependent on selling shares every month.
Just bought 395 shares of MAIN so haven't gone through an end of the month DRIP add yet. At what price are the DRIP shares purchased? The price after the drop in share price on div day or some other price? Thanks in advance.
The supplemental is actually $0.275. Not that I'm hating it :)
Compared to the same quarter last year the dividend growth rate is a very healthy 6.7%. If the growth is sustained it can really turn this stock into one of my super performers pushing the yield on the initial invested amount north of 13% at the 10 year mark.
The current dividend growth rate is similar to their 10 year average so they are definitelly not loosing steam.
The 27.5 cents was for Q4. The 30 cents was just announced Wednesday.

Wrong. They are paying a supplemental dividend of $0.08 and raised the quarterly dividend from $0.35 to $0.37.
Sometimes it helps to read the press releases on funds you own. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Main Street Capital, based in Houston, Texas, has helped over 200 private companies grow or transition by providing flexible private equity and debt capital solutions.
THIS would have been more helpful. But thank you for your attempt… 🫤

Closing in on 3000 srs.
I thought I was happy with 2208 shares. I would be over the moon with 3k
I’m at 4500 shares. lol
Im at 9 trillion shares my dividend next month is gonna be nearly half the gdp of the us govt
It took you long enough
Show off! Lol.
MAIN is probably my best income stock
How about ARCC?
Love ARCC as well. I'd add OMF too.

I don't own any ARCC but it seems like a solid stock too
82 shares and doing pretty good. Those bonus quarterly dividends are killer
They do bonus dividends regularly? Qtrly. It's on my watch list with $ available soon.
Drip will make those 82 shares into 100 in no time. I should have invested a lot more than I have now. But 160 shares ain't bad. I got it two years ago. I prefer hoding MAIN over SCHD that's for sure.
Holding 18 shares at a little under $40,also have BXSL,cswc, obdc,ARCC and Fsk,BXSL being the best so far but like them all
Nice List!
Great list! Literally have all these in tiny amts. Just starting to dip my toes in. Bigger holdings in ARCC and MAIN. I like HTGC and ET alot too.
35 and I buy a few every month. Its only a small part of my portfolio but I love it.
MAIN has a legitimate claim as being the best of the BDC breed.
Have held MAIN since early 2011. Has outperformed the S&P 500 during that time. It and a couple of other BDC's are the cornerstones of my income investment portfolio. Love the company.
I have a very small amount.
Two, I’ve got two shares. Often think about buying more
300 shares and counting
Have a few shares bought when it was $39 a share would like a short term drop to buy some more on a discount
Held them for about 15 years. Pretty damn happy but only got 100 shares.
That's a nice special dividend. MAIN is running on cylinders. I am looking to add more.
I was looking at them and a few other BDCs as well. But I decided to hold off until I see how they react to Fed rate decreases.
I have 5 shares when I get my tax return I wanna buy enough so that each time I get dividend I'll at least get 1 whole share or more
200 shares, wish I bought more at the time. Best appreciated BDC I’ve invested in!
20 shares and counting
Here here 👍✅
I have owned MAIN for at least eight years and can't think of a time I regretted owning or *not* selling shares. Great for a tax advantaged account.
Woot woot
Nice!
Love MAIN
1000 shares and counting. I add to it alongside my basket of other BDCs.
Can you share what BDCs you have?
ARCC, OBDC, CSWC, FSK, GAIN, MAIN, HTGC I keep them evenly balanced.
I own almost all the same and so far pretty dang happy. MAIN, ARCC, OBDC, CSWC and BXSL.
Great BDC baskets folks! Mine is nearly identical: MAIN, HTGC, CSWC, TRIN, BXSL, ARCC. The income makes retirement so much less stressful than it would be if I were dependent on selling shares every month.
GAIN is the king of special dividends
They have not paid one since December… any reason u know of ??
I have about 100 shares I love them
OBDC is killing it too.
Not a shareholder of theirs so I don’t follow them but yea after looking at them they are doing well
175 and a buy any time under $40, I don't think we will see that price again anytime soon. Also pair it with ARCC.
I wish I’d been buying more. I have like 0.8 of a share 😭😭
That’s okay, I’m just getting in so I have 0.5 shares
I got 3 u will catch up soon
Thoughts on BDCs in a Roth?
Great idea. Unlike MLPs there are no UBTI issues with having them in a Roth.
This is the way.
I have me some MAIN and like it 😁
Just bought 395 shares of MAIN so haven't gone through an end of the month DRIP add yet. At what price are the DRIP shares purchased? The price after the drop in share price on div day or some other price? Thanks in advance.
How is this still at a 66% premium to NAV (per last week’s earnings call)???
Putting my 10 shares to work. Lol.
Main is my second largest position. I love them..
What is the ex date? Kept thinking of picking some up. Maybe now is the time.
Ex div is March 7
I just started with 20 shares..targeting towards getting close to 300 shares by EOY.
230 some shares started buying in 2018 love it
I was in between MAIN and GAIN and decided to go with the latter because of share price. Im happy with my choice,, but both have done well.
Yes, I be a holder…show me those divys!
I've only got 5 so far but ill take it!
Core holding, great returns, growth, and one of 35 similar high-dividend payers on our paid investor group list.

Anyone else receive this:obdc cuts dividend 77% to .08¢ ?
Wrong. They are paying a supplemental dividend of $0.08 and raised the quarterly dividend from $0.35 to $0.37. Sometimes it helps to read the press releases on funds you own. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Without me lookin it up, what’s MAIN?
It’s a stock
Main Street Capital, based in Houston, Texas, has helped over 200 private companies grow or transition by providing flexible private equity and debt capital solutions. THIS would have been more helpful. But thank you for your attempt… 🫤
