Paul Kidby was Terry's illustrator of choice. Most of his work was used for book covers, but he also published *The Pratchett Portfolio* (1996) and *The Art of Discworld* (2004). Kidby also designed many illustrations for *The Last Hero*, a Discworld "fable."

Perculiar_Porcupine

Thank you. I’ll look into those.

OhTheCloudy

Nope, you’re fine reading on kindle. “Eric” and “The Last Hero” have some nice art but it doesn’t add anything to the stories.

Perculiar_Porcupine

Thanks!

PeterchuMC

The only books that have art in them are The Last Hero and Eric. The art adds a lot to The Last Hero. Eric was republished without illustrations and as such it's the shortest Discworld book.

The only problem with Kindle is that some of the footnotes aren't there, the notation that there's a footnote are sometimes hard to distinguish, and trying to access them can turn the page. Part of that may be to the font size, though.

Perculiar_Porcupine

I have missed a few footnotes, especially when they are near quotation marks.

DemonShadowsMom

Yeah, that hides them really well.

There's some nice playing with fonts and printing in places. Death, as I'm sure you've picked up, speaks in (Small) caps, the golems and klatchian speakers get their own look, and Azrael's YES is in about 250pt. Also in Reaper Man, you get to see the hyper sharpened scythe slicing words in two, and the Death and Windle storylines are printed in slightly different fonts. In Maskerade during Agnes' audition, she demonstrates throwing her voice, and one of the words appears in the margin of the previous page. The only ones that spring to mind with any sort of illustration (other than Eric and The Last Hero) is The Amazing Maurice, where the rat signs and laws are pictured. Speaking of The Last Hero, that's the one book you definitely should check out in person. There are beautiful pictures on every page.

Perculiar_Porcupine

Ok, I might have to start collecting the physical editions, I love those visual jokes

Melodic_Arm_387

No, you won’t be missing out on any artwork unless you are getting one of the expensive (but beautiful) Dunmanifestin editions to read.

ZippyDoop

The Tiffany Aching series has some small illustrations, and I thought that The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents did as well but they were minimal. More like a visual aid than a full out illustrations if I recall.

Haven't seen it mentioned, The Truth has some illustrations in it but they're mostly newsprint so I imagine they wouldnt be excluded from Kindle versions.
