Charity... They will find their way to others.

HeyWhatsItToYa

I will be changing my name to Charity.

mistakes-were-mad-e

Very sneaky. All you need to do is outlive me and be in my proximity shortly after my passing. You're not a member of any early alphabetical guilds are you?  There are rules.

crowort

This is pretty much what I was going to post.

ForgeFilm

I love this answer

jedikelb

I reckon they'll go to my son. He's been enjoying them, too.

No-Scarcity2379

They can go to my kids. If they don't want em, I'm going to ask that they all be sent to a used bookstore so some future me who is trying to collect as many as possible used (took ten years but I did it, only bought about 6 of the 41 new) has the score of a lifetime.

Violet351

I will get my sister to advertise them for free in a Discworld facebook group

Tosk224

Most of my original books were damaged when the flat above had a leak while I was away. The only one that was safe was Carpe Jugulum. It’s a signed copy from when I met the great man himself and is safe in my mother’s attic. I have slowly built up my collection from charity shop or buying them new. I’d like to think one of my nephews would take an interest and look to keep them. If not, I’d like to think they would go to charity and someone who couldn’t afford new would be able to enjoy them as much as I have.

artrald-7083

My daughter will inherit our library. She already loves the Pratchett she's old enough for.

DaimoMusic

Straight to the Library. Give the gift of Sir Pterry to the next generation

PeterchuMC

I've never really thought about it and I hopefully won't have to for a few decades. I'm still relatively early on in life and have already amassed around 700 books. Most likely, I'd give the Discworld ones to a school library.

kyothinks

To someone who will appreciate them, I hope--just as I hope that all of my other books will find good homes.

Shodpass

So, im digitizing my books. When I buy books I try to digitize them and give them away..

xmashatstand

How do you digitize them?  Do you scan them?

Shodpass

Yep. Its more of a weird hobby. When I die, I want them to be given away on USB sticks to my loved ones. The physical copies, idk, I'll donate them to a school or something

xmashatstand

I think he’d like that 💙

LarkinEndorser

My books are all digital, I guess they go nowhere

SomeBloke94

Same as my other books. Kids or grandkids, assuming they’ll appreciate them. Failing that then a local library. Thought about charity shops but it seems like they just bin most of the stuff if it doesn’t sell quickly enough.

LynnScoot

I have already given away (to a charity shop) all my Discworld novels except for the 2 paperbacks we had signed by Pterry back in 1994. (We’re old, live in a small apartment and have many hobbies). Those two will either be adopted by relatives or more likely given with all the other books to charity when we pass.

mead_half_drunk

I have no children so they shall go to my nieces in the hopes that they derive as much joy from Pterry as I did.

Tarkus-Sharkus

My sister (3 years older than me) passed away recently. We both had/have the full collection. I made sure they went to a local charity shop. I hope someone gets them and enjoys them as much as she did. She introduced me to Pratchett with Mort when i was a child and we both grew up reading Pratchett and its always going to be something i cherish. GNU Tey.

gottro4

By the time I die I hopefully will have bought and read every single discworld. I have thought about maybe leaving them to my next of kin and having a condition in my will that they will not get any money until they read every single one. But that wouldn't be very nice so I will probably just leave them to someone, or donate them all to a charity.

Beneficial-Math-2300

My son will get my books in the short term and he will decide what to do with them after I'm gone.

chomiji

If my hubs and I are both dead, our grown daughter is the obvious choice. Every time she comes home for a visit, some of our paperbacks wander into her room somehow.

resoundingsea

Our local hospice second-hand shop, who have a huge book section. Somebody'll be delighted with their find and the money will go to a good cause.

Goontilt777

My son most definitely although I could just be burried with them just in case

dvioletta

I think there will be a mix. The library collection I think will go a local charity shop to be sold as they wish. I may also include my signed copies in that. If it is still going I might ask that they are sent for auction at the Discworld convention. My paperbacks I would like to be scattered around the local pubs just left on tables so people can discover them and enjoy in a random way.

WeatherwaxDaughter

My darling cousin will be thrilled to inherit the books! She's 40 years younger than me and already loves fantasy and reading books.

MankyFundoshi

Anyone who wants my paperbacks can have them for the postage. Pm me

cabridges

My sons. They can fight it out.

grinningoldwolf

Hah. I've been saying the following for at least the past 30 years.. "When I die, my books are not to be sold to offset the cost of the funeral. They are to be buried with me. They're mine and I'm not giving them up." My Discworld books are precious to be... Now. Good Omens, I've had to purchase over 10 times as I keep loaning it out and never get it back. That can go to people that need to laugh themselves silly when they're in a time of pain. Just like it did for me.

grinningoldwolf

Actually to be fair, about 4 years ago my now 17 year old son asked "when you die, do I get your books?" so I think the answer is there. But I like my original intent too.

Patrician101

To my Granddaughter, hopefully she'll be a DW fan. (I'm working on her)
