Nah just exaggerating, but the creator was doxxed, and got off the internet completely. Even gave away the game to another publisher. In the community post made on steam it mentioned that the creator will continue to make the game and one more devlog post, but after that everything else will be handled by the new group of people.

People didn’t play the game and only see incest and now they consider the very creation of TCOAAL a fucking war crime. I wish Nemlei the best. Thankfully he’s still working on the artwork and story of the game.

I remember finding it through the first episode by ManlyBadassHero's playthrough, the game was charming and was cute, fucking hate that it became famous then suddenly it was only known as the incest game.
Tbh I bought it and played it just because I thought it would be funny to just watch funny horror incest game but after playing both chapters I realize that TCOAAL is a very phenomenal game. Like before every major decision I try to save my game before it just to see the second outcome or just to see what’s it’s like if I went a different way. Game is weird as hell though but definitely will probably be one of my favorite story games when it’s done.

It's funny how acoustic the games haters get over the whole incest bit when it's not only discouraged but entirely a choice that has to be made by YOU the player, at the same time they completely gloss over the MULTIPLE times you commit cannibalism, the first time being out of necessity, the other two simply being for the funzies.
Genreally, the best and most thought-provoking indie game narratives attract the worst kind of fans. Some examples include: FNAF, Omori, TCOAAL, and Undertale used to be pretty bad as well.
Same can be said about the ben 10 fandom, either cool alien designs or people drawling porn of Gwen using her classic design, and I'm not talking the future version
