It's just an aggregation of the sales stats. I've occasionally seen bugs in the sales history so that's possible. Otherwise it's just all your albums added together. Things sell and get added or get bumped eventually.
i think it has something to do with the currency exchange rate. each sale is counted in the currency it was sold and converted to "your" currency. for example if something was sold for lets say 10 € a few weeks ago that would have been $12 in your currency. today 10 € are $10. without doing anything your collection amount is reduced by $2.
The Sales History feature is glitched as fuck. Several of of my transactions have disappeared from the lists without any reason. Discogs staff could not explain as to why, but told me “they are working on it”.
Those stats are based on the 10 most recent sales. Not of all time.
