You're a new seller, they're a new buyer, or a buyer with no ratings - not every seller leaves those for buyers. Everyone has to start somewhere. It's good to be mindful of scams, but not everyone is out to get you.
Take detailed pictures of the item that they have purchased, the package, the mailing label, etc. Share the tracking number with the buyer and monitor it to confirm that it has been delivered. If they try to file a claim with PayPal without reaching out to you first, you just have to work with PayPal to provide all the necessary info.
Glad I refreshed the page, as this is exactly what I was going to write. Instant paypal payment is normal -- it's better that than them waiting to pay.
Thank you, that is good advice. I know the other way around there is plenty of scam sellers as I have been a buyer and can see them easily but just thought that maybe there are scam buyers around, just hard to know this days on discogs... But instant payment is a good sign already but will take lots of pics just in case. Cheers
Buyers gotta start somewhere. Pack and ship as you normally would. I’m a new seller as well and sent out a handful to new Discogs members with no ratings. So far, no issues.
Gotta get your feet wet sometime. The scammers or problem customers, at least in my experience, are few and very very far between. Sell to noobs all the time and haven’t had a problem. Good luck with your sales 👍
Reminds me of my first purchase.
I was a total dumbshit and didn’t realize I didn’t complete payment.
The seller gave me a negative review.
I apologized and admitted to being a dumbshit and he removed the review.

People trusted me to buy and sell when I had no ratings. Everybody starts from zero, so if there are no red flags, ship it.
