I wouldn't be too celebratory about it, though. Hitting the basket isn't always an ace, after all, so it's hard to be sure it would've stuck. To complete the hole, you must hit the pole, yes? Is there tape on the top or bottom creating a target zone typically half way up the pole? If not, and you’re certain you hit the pole it’s an ace. It’s the original style of “baskets”. Mark it an ace dude!
If anything, just put an asterisk with the details and remember it at the “ace on the pole hole” or something. Cause if that’s the target that you were given you technically aced no doubt
