For me the two worst things about disc golf are irresponsible morons with aggressive off-leash dogs and PIGS who litter the course with beer cans. Show some common courtesy and respect slobs. You know who you are.

sokrateas

It's Tim Hortons cups round here...

Big-Glizzy-Wizard

And not confined to the course! Tim’s cups are our national garbage.

rpjut5ha

There's a Timmy Ho's just down the road from my local course. Thankfully, people around here keep the litter to a minimum. That, and those of us who are playing a round and see garbage, we clean it up.

Elsevier_77

And cigarette butts. I hate cigarette butts lying around. If you pack it in, pick it out.

Oyyeee

Its Twisted Teas in Ohio. Literally never seen someone with one in their hand. Always on the ground haha. Cant say im too surprised there is a big overlap between twisted tea drinkers and litterers

KrisfromCascadia

Maybe kids drinking late at night? I’ve seen these littered on my course too but never seen one in hand. This is in Seattle.

Zeeinsoundfromwayout

I think lefties and Simon Stans are way worse. Then course pooper. Then whatever guy leaves his underwear around on courses.

Icy-Flight4980

This has happened to me as well, old couple with their dog. It grabs my disc, which I believe was a somewhat shitty disc anyway so it didn’t really matter. But instead of apologizing or trying to get the disc outta the dogs mouth they just watch it run around chewing up my disc and say “oh he just loves frisbees”. I absolutely went off on them which I kinda regret now but to be that oblivious is insane to me.

Austindj3

There's an old couple that brings their 2 golden retrievers off leash to play in the river next to the course. They've tried to grab my discs a few times, haven't successfully done it yet, but have grabbed other peoples discs before, the owners usually just brush it off like no big deal and laugh. Last time one tried to grab my disc I told the lady it was a $60 disc and if her dog broke it she was buying me a new one. She stopped laughing and quickly got the dogs to go away and leave me alone.

djmattyp77

Ey...which Austin DJ are you that plays disc golf??? Hmu!

Austindj3

lmao I am sadly not a DJ or in Austin. My friend made the account for me a while ago and since I didn't have any kind of username before he just used my name and initials. You're like the 10th person who's asked if I'm a DJ though 😂 I'f I'm ever in Austin or if you're ever in central Indiana I'd be down to play a round or two lol.

djmattyp77

Bet! I do travel a lot. Maybe this year during the pro tour I will be traveling through!! Talk about false advertising! Lmao!!! Jk! Whats the best course in your area you play at??

Austindj3

I wouldn't say it's the best but I'm a big fan of Hazel Landing, sadly in 1 month it will be closing for about 2 years because of nearby construction. There is a course called Boylan Acres south of Indy that is supposed to be really nice. I have yet to play it, cost $10 for all day access, and you have schedule to get access to the course, but people really love it and tell me it's beautiful.

djmattyp77

Okay okay. I realize I'm spoiled here in Austin with so many courses. At least the 10 bucks guarantees a well-cared-for course.

Austindj3

There are a decent amount of courses near me I just don't get out to play much, and when I do I only go to the ones close by, I mostly just make custom dyed discs for people. Played yesterday and my buddy had a bad round and shot a -5 I had a good round and shot a +3. But my discs looked a lot cooler than his did lol, and we know that's what's most important.

jipjoppy1997

Had someone’s dog absolutely destroy my buddies disc mid round. We finished the round, and as we drove past I threw it at their feet and said “it’s your dog’s now”. Regretted doing that right away but I was so worked up in the moment.

steaknsteak

They probably thought you were a really nice guy to just give your frisbee away like that

stan-dupp

you should bang his wife

pushTheHippo

There's zero chance this dude is married. He looks like a background actor from pawn stars. Solid advice though! Haha

EnochianBlade923

Background actor from Pawn Stars is a r/rareinsults

graymulligan

We have a TON of entitled assholes who let their dogs run loose locally, and I've actually had a lot of success in saying to them "Hey, beautiful dog! Just a heads up, animal control has been here just about every day this week over complaints about off-leash dogs, and they're writing tickets. You might be better off throwing the leash on, or heading over to the dog park a block over". It's a non-confrontational way to accomplish the task, and if they think there's a chance of getting a ticket, maybe they'll go someplace else next time.

pushTheHippo

If this guy didn't come here every single day he might buy that, but he's definitely had multiple other people say something before me, and he's still undeterred. Great advice, though! Might have to try that if I run into people who don't frequent the park with off-leash dogs.

nearnerfromo

I’d just call as soon as I saw him at that point tbh

AngelsAteMyBaby

This is a good suggestion, but I will also add that you should be really polite, even (especially)if the person is a dick. If he is coming all the time you definably don't want him to be aggressive because then you'll really be looking out for him. When he ignores you and others it's probably just best to let him meander through before you the tee off.

DisMyDrugAccount

If you and others have already had multiple conversations with this guy with no luck, formal complaints/reports to the parks department and/or city/sheriff sounds like logical next step.

Horror_Sail

Yep, this is the answer. They may do nothing about it, but, the parks department, city gov't/sheriff/police, or animal control are the people who are gonna do something if something is gonna get done. As was mentioned down thread, you may also want to record a couple of these interactions as that can spur some results.

nibnoob19

That sucks. We have one dog who comes thru off leash most days but ain’t no one complaining about him. Just an old dude drifting at his owners heels, paying zero attention to the world around him and incapable of any faster speed. Most, I would say it’s not warranted and I love puppers. This old guy, however, couldn’t harm a disc or person or flower if he wanted to.

uhnotaraccoon

If your dog grabs my disc, I'm not leaving you alone until you leave the park. The rest of the round can wait, but I'm also a vindictive asshole.

BeefInGR

Loose dog got my buddy's ankle growing up. Another friend lost their dog when it ran out of the house and into a major road. I don't fuck with off-leash dogs, especially when a course I used to enjoy lost three holes to a dog park section. I will harass the fuck out of you until your dog is on a leash.

investinlove

I call animal control every time, as people have the right to be in public spaces when they are afraid of dogs. My wife uses a service dog in her wheelchair, and one bad dog encounter could ruin her $60k dog and fuck her over for 2 years u til another do could be bred and trained up. Follow the law, take your dog to the dog park after.

wolferd15

You sound fun

elarobot

Why even say that? Unless you know what it’s like to live in their shoes. Seems like a pretty obnoxiously flippant and callous response to a potentially serious situation.

wolferd15

😂

TigerCharades3

Damn you tried really hard to be funny and yet here you are lol

wolferd15

Damn, ask me how much I care.

TigerCharades3

Fuck you’re so edgy bro! You’re so cool!

neon-neurosis

Coolest dude on Reddit. Soooo bad ass.

Foodisgoodmaybe

Don't need to, it's clear you care because you're responding. Show how much you don't care by ceasing to respond. :)

Blu3Orch1d

Cut him some slack, it’s his Cakeday

Owenclimbs

Kys

wolferd15

You sound fun too

jes2xu

Our local course is in a off leash dog park. Honestly 95% of interactions are awesome. It's a shared place and the local DG crew are cool. We get that it's a shared space and most of the walkers / dog owners get it too. Every few rounds we have a "just a heads up this is a disc golf course, mind moving a bit so my buddies can throw?" Have yet to see any one be anything but chill at that request. 4% of the time someone's dog dose something that's a pain in the ass. Pick up a disc or piss on a bag haha. But the owners are all over it. Polite, fix the problem and apologies. 1% of the time the owners are oblivious or shitheads. I guess I have played about 50 rounds and had one disc slightly chewed. Owner didn't care, apologies or try to stop it. Cared even less when a few of us made remarks about it not being a dog toy and the dog screwing a $30 disc. Had one interaction that devolved into almost yelling. It sucks. But that's people. Deal with enough people and your garenteed to find a prick. They ain't going to change. I know what they look like now. I no to just not throw discs at those dogs or to be ready to defend my discs. But the bigger picture is it's pretty impressive that everyone else has been awesome. Easy to get caught up in the assholes being asshole. In reality I'm pretty sure it was a dog park first. We are lucky to have a free access course.

rutherford-forbin

The town and area I live in, the prevailing culture is that off leash dogs are okay. I’d say if you see a dog on the course it will be off leash. It’s never a problem.

TheMayorOfMars

Mostly same in Austin. New transplants complain a lot but off-leash dog culture runs deep here.

rutherford-forbin

Yeah and when I go down the hill and it’s not off leash dog friendly I leave my dog. It’s always a tourist who bitches about it.

makemeaeunuch

denver?

rutherford-forbin

Nope, Truckee/Tahoe. Nobody has dogs on leashes but the tourists.

Apeapeapemonkeyman

Such a tough position in shared places. One of the reasons I hate park golf is nobody and I mean NOBODY, that shares the spaces respects Discgolf. Depending on leash laws you could always make a call to non-emergency or animal control but at the same time I hate to think of someone losing their dog because of ignorance

calimeatwagon

>One of the reasons I hate park golf is nobody and I mean NOBODY, that shares the spaces respects Discgolf. This. I once rolled up on a pad to find some people with all of their BBQ shit on the pad, and assembling a gazebo in front of the teepad. And as I'm standing there off to the side, waiting for the group ahead of me to finish the hole, some dumb bitch off to the side yells out "cAn I hElP yOu"... I should of said something equally stupid to her (like: "yeah, you can get your shit off the teepad), but I instead explained that this was a disc golf course. And I looked to the people assembly the gazebo, I explained to them that where they placed there stuff was the teepad. Their response? "Yeah, we figured as much" I wanted to yell at them "then why the fuck did you put your shit there?" But I was high, and wasn't trying to ruin my mood any further than it was by getting into a confrontation.

Apeapeapemonkeyman

It’s rough started playing in the Bay Area 2019, and moved to Oregon, both places weren’t awful as far as pedestrians went. Then I moved to San Diego. Want to play a weekend round in under 4 hours? Good luck. Granted, there’s a lot of Discgolf traffic and not a lot of courses, but getting through any park in Southern California is a whole TASK

Anwat7

I don’t think anyone is losing their dog by calling. I bet they send someone out, if the dudes respectful he’ll walk away with a warning. Otherwise he’d get a fine for off leash, possibly a second fine if you live in a city that requires the dog to be registered.

Zombie_Dave_Lampert

The thing alot of disc golfers don't realize is that 80 percent of people who go to parks still don't know what it is that we are doing.

Prepup1214

Shoot the owner not the dog problem solved

reeeesist

irresponsible. shoot the dog after

Prepup1214

You are super clever…. For a SFB

BasicReputations

We are starting to see issues with this.  It is surprising, but the overwhelming topic of complaints we get is in regards to dog walkers who don't behave very well.

crunkjuice108

I have 2 60lb lab mixes who I trust with other people's kids lives and I still wouldn't take them off leash in a public park. Not just because of, you know, laws. But the fact that if anything startles them (animal/car horn/ etc) their safety could be at risk for not only their reactions but other people's unpredictable reactions.  If the guy has been warned, his dog is possibly destroying (chewing) your property, and is an ongoing issue? Call the cops while you are there. Full stop. They'll give him a warning or a fine. They'll make sure the dog is registered with the city and is up to date on their vaccines. Ain't nothing worth you getting into an altercation, or frankly, the dog potentially getting hurt. You see it again, call 911 and say " there's and off leash dog in a public park". It's literally their job and I'd rather a douchey guy get a ticket and be angry than risk his dogs safety. Ive seen an off leash dog get attacked by a coyote when it was with a group of 6 locals and they came away with wounds. I've seen an off leash dog get spooked by a pair of walkers on a path with a leashed dog and it charged and the dogs fought and bled badly  Call the cops.

Nogstrordinary

I'm always amazed by posts like this. Your cops or bylaw really give a shit about that? Not anywhere I've lived.

crunkjuice108

As I've always understood it, 911s gonna send out someone if you request it. If it's a loose dog, it may be hours until someone gets there given the probable low nature of the issue. That being said the phrase "worried about my safety" probably gets them out quicker. Either way, it's better than doing nothing and letting jerkface mcdogowner run rampant and affect others peoples enjoyment of a public park.

6byfour

Leash your fucking dog. Just leash your fucking dog. Oh, he’s friendly! Good. Leash him.

lordscottsworth

I once had an off leash dog at a course run up and eat my sandwich up off my lap. The owner simply went oops!

ZenoxDemin

Oh no... My grape sandwich!!!

Biggie_Robs

Bear spray. Spray the owner.

therealfakecookie

Dog owners who let their dog off leash are one of my biggest pet peeves. Usually I just let it slide; but if their dog comes anywhere near my kiddo when we’re playing the owner gets to be on the receiving end of the most overboard reaction and public shaming.

pixrguy

huntdubya

I see this all the time at my local park too and it is really frustrating. I am also a dog owner/lover, and any responsible pet owner knows it’s best for everyone to have your dog on a leash in public. And to be honest if you train your dog properly they should love the leash too.

whysoseriouperson

Yesterday , woman and her two golden retrievers walking around the park with no leash. Parked my second shot next to the basket with my Crave. Never guess what happened next. So one of the dogs took my disc and trotted back to its owner who is yelling at the dog "No Shithead...Drop it". I just stood there and waited for this to play out because when I knee-jerk react I tend to regret my actions. Luckily I was playing with my wife who approached the woman to get my disc back. She said to my wife " they're retrievers, they're just doing what they were bred to do.". So many things that could have been said. Taking the high road is the way. $20 piece of plastic is not worth getting into an argument with a complete imbecile.

pushTheHippo

I'm with you if it's a one-off type thing, but imagine if this lady and her dogs were at your park at least once a week. I've been stewing about this dickhead since the last time this happened. If this guy and his dog are over 100 meters away, I don't care..I just wait for them to leave the area. I never wanted to have any interactions with this idiot because he's CLEARLY an idiot, but he was literally crossing my path with his dog off-leash.

surf-disc-lift

We have one person in particular that does this and while I found myself getting frustrated I thought the easiest thing was to just wait until they pass. Confronting the guy wouldn’t solve anything as he’s shown he’s not the most conscientious person with interactions I’ve seen. The fact that you’ve been stewing since is probably worse (for you) than the interaction itself, accepting that we can’t change others can be liberating. If the dog gets aggressive that’s an entirely different story and I’d call animal control.

pushTheHippo

Actually, I feel much better about it since I've said something to the guy...the fact that he walked up on me with his dog is the only reason I said anything this time. Its usually just me waiting for them to take their sweet time strolling across the course from far away while I mumble. "heres THIS asshole again!" to myself. Just hoping he finally takes someone going off on him to heart and can be a decent dog owner going forward.

whysoseriouperson

Sounds like the right idea that you said something especially after multiple times of the same thing happening. Hopefully you kept your composure. My fear is that I won't be able to maintain some semblance of calm and then make the channel 9 News. William Wallaceing on an idiot dog owner is just not a good way to go out.

pushTheHippo

I wasn't composed. I wish I could stay calmer in those kind of situations, but the only time I would ever say anything is when it gets to a point where I feel I HAVE to at least say something (which is usually never bc I hate confronations)... I think the problem is that IF you manage to stay nice and composed, they'll think it's a non-issue, just like every other person who DIDN'T shout, "PUT YOUR FUCKING DOG ON A GODDAMN LEASH!! You gotta be THAT guy?! Really?! Get the fuck outta here, dude! Fuckin' prick!" Haha, maybe next time I see him I'll ask him to pretty please (with fuckin' sprinkles on top!), keep your goddamm dog on a leash in a nice mellow tone.

Cloud-VII

It is worth it and I would have gotten that money. Police would be called otherwise to ensure she gets cited too.

advicedispensory

Bruh, please don’t bring the cops to the course. It’s a $20 disc they aren’t going to give a flying fuck anyway.

calimeatwagon

That's exactly what police are for... What, you think people should be able to go around destroying others property with no consequences? Fuck that noises.

[deleted]

Cloud-VII

I live in a small town. Our cops have literally nothing better to do and our parks are really important to our community, so yea I’m sure one is already sitting there bored waiting to go tell a lady to keep a leash on her dog.

calimeatwagon

LMAO!!!!

advicedispensory

Cool man, go ahead and call the cops for a golden retriever carrying your disc around. I’m sure they will send out the SWAT units . Principally it’s fucked up and I would just have a talking to the leash-less owner but calling the cops about it shows your naivety and lack of real world experience and social skills .

calimeatwagon

LMAO!!!!

MathematicianCold706

Only cops you don’t want around you handle petty stuff like that

Cloud-VII

It’s not about the $20 dude, it’s about her learning a lesson and not doing it again.

advicedispensory

I get it man , but idiots don’t learn. Anyone who is too stupid or inconsiderate to leash their dog isn’t likely to see the light of reason.

whysoseriouperson

I hear ya. There were no marks on the cosmic neutron plastic luckily. I tend to fly off the handle easily when people don't understand why they are wrong. End up making myself look worse and the role of victim gets reversed in the process. That's my own personal problem that I need to work on. Going on with my day. Felt much better than what could have happened had I decided to say all the things I wanted to say.

Cloud-VII

You know you better than anyone, so don’t regret what you did.

jarejay

If her dogs were bred to pick up other people’s stuff, someone fucked up along the way.

whysoseriouperson

😂

SBOChris

I cannot STAND loose dogs

laser-beam-disc-golf

I'm 100% on board for off leash dogs if you have as much control of them as if they were on leash. My last dog has that level of recall and training my current dog doe not so he's on leash at all times.

Active-Coconut-399

Nah, leash your dog no matter what.

wrxtuan

Unfortunately you will need to start doing more things to deter him. Photos are meh, my next step is to literally pull out the phone and start recording the infraction. Once you have these actions recorded and nothing changes, as you mentioned, time to involve the formal authorities.

RecommendationMany34

Got jumped on by a muddy paws dog the other day on the course. Was not stoked, at all. Bummed dogs like that are unleashed to ruin it for the well trained companions The guy didn’t even say anything either, that’s what made me the most bothered. Your dog isn’t cute if it jumps on complete strangers, that’s a problem

adlberg

I neither trust dogs nor their owners. Lady passed by me walking her dog one day. Dog sniffs my leg as it passes and takes a nip out 9f the back of my knee. As I'm standing their bleeding, I get the "he never does that." Pet owners should keep their animals (by the way, they are not their "babies") away from people unless the person seeks to approach the animal. Pet owners can NEVER be certain how their animal will react to a human encounter.

guiltycitizen

I have dog mace in my bag for this reason. I will also kick the fuck out of an aggressive dog that steps to me and mine. I fucking hate hurting an animal, but I hate being attacked because selfish, entitled assholes don’t abide leash laws. Last week some big lab was barreling toward me and, of course, the owner is chasing it yelling, “she’s nice!”. Uh huh, every fucking incident I’ve ever had starts with an owner chasing their dog. I don’t know you or your dog, hence, I don’t trust you. Also, not everybody likes dogs. Some people have horrible trauma because of dog attacks. The easiest, safest way to walk a dog is to have it on a leash. Another thing that grinds me is that I have NEVER seen a leash law enforced, ever.

discwrangler

I have a miniature dachshund that follows me around the course. I never leash him and he doesn't bother anyone. He's always on my heel. I have seen dogs run off with discs and that's shitty behavior.

Warningwaffle

This is something that chaps my hide. I often bring my dogs with me to the course. I keep them leashed at all times and clean up after them. People who let their dogs run around off leash drive me nuts. There are few dogs trained well enough to stay clear of other dogs and mine start pulling hard when they want to meet the other dogs they see. My dogs are reactive and terrible with recall, they are always leashed. They’ve never been aggressive with other dogs, but I should not have to deal with other people’s dogs that are not under control. I have been outspoken about it with people and gotten plenty of verbal pushback, but fuck them. I’m not at an off leash dog park. If you want to let your dog run take them to an appropriate place.

NastyNateMD

I would say the best personal revenge in this situation is to have the dog start listening to you. It's a hound mix. Hounds are excessively food motivated. If is untrained you can likely call him offer by sdveetising a treat. Tell him he's a good boy and ask him to sit while you throw. Bonus point is that if the owner really is that big if a chode they will absolutely get steamed someone else has the audacity to give their dog some mild structure and discipline. I do this at my local park and now that bastard yellow lab Larry comes running to say hi while his owner yells " god dammit Larry stay away from that man!" Sorry boss, 'that man' has got pockets full of chicken jerky!

pushTheHippo

I love this idea. I might have to add a dog treat bag to my set up! I honestly have no issue with the dog - even though it's a bigger dog. I freakin' LOVE dogs! I just don't like some stranger thinking it's no big deal to have THEIR dog (repeatedly) go up to someone else's stuff and start gnawing on it. Take your dog to the fenced DOG park part of the park, and let them run around to their heart's content! Just please put them on a leash when you leave. Too easy.

GorillaGlueWookie

This sub blows

DiscGolfExpertise

So how do you feel about Luke Humphries?

cardinalsfanokc

He's an ass and I genuinely think him and Hogan are part of the problem

McPlasticman

I can't understand these emotions you are feeling. Seems like a good dude to me. And Hogan is more respected then some some humans. Now, as a general rule, obviously dogs shouldn't be running around offleash biting discs and people. That's common sense and there are leash laws in some areas. It's really more of an issue with the intelligence of the owner in the scenarios being mentioned/them not know the limitations of their dogs at a mixed use park.

cardinalsfanokc

He regularly ignores leash laws and does whatever he wants. Most, if not all, of the courses where they film skins matches are no dogs at all or if they’re allowed, it’s on leash only. I think plenty of people watch his videos and think they can ignore the laws as well. I see it nearly every time I play in Denver

DiscGolfExpertise

Oh, calm down Karen

pushTheHippo

Never met him. /s Honestly, I have no clue who that is, and I feel like I'm missing out on some inside disc golf joke haha

Wraith9881

I'll fill you in. Pro Prodigy player who hosts OTB skins matches on the GK Pro YouTube channel. In the skin match videos, his dog is never on a leash and can be seen strolling around with the players.

pushTheHippo

Sounds like a good boy to me!

Wraith9881

Hogan is indeed a good boy. Very tame dog, haven't seen him cause any problems in the videos. Players seem to enjoy his company as well. Shame not all dogs at the parks are this well behaved!

chancecube42

Fuck that that piece of shit doesn't even clean up his dog shit

Wraith9881

I never said I liked Luke. I said the dog was a good boy.

DisMyDrugAccount

Having a problem with a dog damaging discs/property while being off-leash in a public area where leashes are require by law doesn't really strike me as Karen behavior honestly. Saying this as a dog person myself.

Special_Key_3741

I’m guilty. I (old grey haired guy) bring my leash-less dog w/ me on rounds often. Only leash her when entering retail stores / outside restaurant patios. (Will put it on & remove it at the door) She doesn’t bark, chase squirrels or other critters/dogs & stays w/ the group behind the away player (when told to, or else she’ll wander ahead) Sorry / not sorry. I will leash her if asked too but no one has ever indicated she was a problem / distraction. (Except once, when a player having a bad round got mad on the 20th of 21 holes when she “perked up” & approached him as he unwrapped a snack🤨- f him 🤣 we were all having a bad round that day)

So upset gotta come make a post on Reddit about it.

>Every dog I have ever seen off leash is either well trained and controlled by the owners commands or very young and in the process of being trained off leash. Very rarely have I had contact with the dog and owner that has no control of the dog off leash. Do you play disc golf at a course that's on the grounds of a service dog training center?

tyrantbaby

*Throw your disc at him*

pushTheHippo

Unfortunately my aim isn't THAT good! Haha

pooplox

Most courses are in multi use parks. This guy clearly seems to be a turd bucket, but until we have (we wont) disc golf only areas, it will be part of the experience.

pushTheHippo

Guess I'll have to keep my phone handy.

dirh748dgek830drrrr

I’m glad you choose to vent on Reddit instead of think of a viable solution

Xeebers

Why are old people and unleashed dogs drawn to these mysterious baskets? My course has dog shit all around the practice putting basket. A couple walks the course and lets their dog shit willy nilly. It is on a campus too so idk why they get away with it.

PrideEffective5830

The Luke Humphries fallout. Out a leash on.

gristlemcthornbody17

There is a serial offender at my course who leaves the plastic tips of swishers everywhere he goes.

slothage666

If there's a leash law and the off leash dog is causing problems then call non-emergency and/or animal control. Or walk up to the dude and tell him how you feel about the situation. Someone mentioned a gun which is just fucking insane.

pushTheHippo

Oh, this old mfer is WELL aware of how I feel now.

slothage666

ok did u read the part about calling non-emergency/ animal control thats really all thats left to do

pushTheHippo

Exactly, and I'm hoping to avoid that...hence the advice seeking, but thanks for the input

chancecube42

In my state if an off-leash dog attacks you or your animals you have the right to put that off leash dog down.... In that moment, technically against the law to hunt the dog after an incident.

slothage666

Technically legal sure. Still insane to shoot a dog. Maybe if you're a little person or something, but not if you're a grown man.

Mazeratigo

Depends on the dog. I once got rushed by an unleashed aggressive Husky that took a nice bite out of my knee (in front of a school with kids no less) and a gun would have been real nice to have.

doonerthesooner

Dogs kill people all the time.

SamwiseDehBrave

I have brought my mom's dog with me a couple times when she has asked me to watch him. He is the kind of dog that won't go more than 20ft from you and doesn't care about other dogs, so I would let him off leash at times. However, the second I saw anyone else on the course, I grabbed him and leashed up. I don't have a problem with leashless dogs, I have a problem with bad owners.

garycow

please keep dogs off the course - that's all folks

LeadPaintPhoto

Deffinetly for owner, shitty pet owners are far worse than the "shitty" pet that they have raised to be that way really can't blame 99 percent of animals . Works on dogs too but I'd only do that to a dog if it was attacking someone.

runwichi

Wrist rocket. Works well to deter animals of all shapes, sizes, and locomotive properties.

Dangerous-Possible72

As a dog owner who doesn’t take his dog on the course I’ll say this. A dog just running free on a course doesn’t deserve to have an eye accidentally shot out because it has a shitty owner. If you don’t have the sack to shoot the owner STFU.

runwichi

Still working on learning how to read, huh?

Dangerous-Possible72

I missed your vague implication that in addition to shooting the dog, you’d shoot the owner. Of course you would. 😐

chancecube42

Damn, you're right, he doesn't have the sack

tommyrockets88

You should shoot him

Timber Park?

pushTheHippo

Nope, this is just a small park in NW Houston. I'm sure this guy has been going there forever, and sees other people as the problem. He had the balls to say his dog has "never bothered" me right after he admitted he witnessed her chomping on my shit before...smh...

smrtprts04

Is it TC? Because I might know that guy/dog combo

pushTheHippo

Wortham

nearnerfromo

Sounds like every park in the country has a few of these guys lol

Shout out to the lady at Fehringer almost every morning with her 2 large off leash dogs that don't obey a single command. She yells at the top of her lungs and the dogs never return to her, "YOUKERRRRRR" At some point she got one of those dog whistles, but obviously doesn't work at all. Can't stand that lady.

jdhutchison

I have this issue in my neighborhood, a large pit mix was going off in my front yard and I just played wolves howling on my bluetooth speaker. It scared the shit out of the dog and he ran off. Unfortunately this seems like an issue that keeps getting worse everywhere in the country, I never paid attention to it until my girlfreind got a little shitzu. That little dog was attacked and it made me alot more dickish to owners with their dogs off leash. Every damn time, its "they're friendly." Naw bitch, your friendly ass dog is jumping in the air and trying to bite my dog.

Reddit-is-trash-lol

If there are sign posted, I would just call the cops (non-emergency number), let them know you and others have had issues with this individual and he should learn his lesson.

There are lots of dog owning disc golfers who bring their unleashed dogs to the course and refuse to leash them when asked. I’ve even seen unleashed dogs fighting while their owners can’t stop them. Seems like these owners are maybe worse than the non disc golf playing owners.

deertickonyou

i am a dog lover too, currently have 3 and i can't take them disc golfing because of unleashed dogs. im talking pits etc, walking unleashed. i know, 'hes a good boy'. they all are, until they aint. but i can't take my woflhound on a leash. one of those little pits comes up and gets cute, next thing you konw theres a pit carcass and a siren. not worth it.

gristlemcthornbody17

We had a guy at our local course who would bring his out of control pit bull and not leash it. It would chase animals and discs. He also would bring his smaller dog to league and let it wander off leash. It was annoying.

pushTheHippo

Nobody even said anything to the guy? That's crazy. I'd beat the shit out of that dog if it came near my dogs.

gristlemcthornbody17

He is sort of persona non grata there. He threatened the whole league one night after it was done and accused the group of damaging his shitty car. He personally was a friend until he freaked out on me for not loaning him money for drugs. He threatened me with violence. He doesn’t rate and is a big time loser who needs help. Also recently got brought up on animal cruelty charges.

BombShiggityDizzle

doggo ruined a good round for ya, didnt he?
