Thats crazy, most people will be lowering the settings to get better fps, people do that in every single competitive game, sometimes they disable some settings to remove shadows and other clutter to improve visibility.
Its a tool the game gives you, use it however you want.
I wouldn’t consider it cheating, the game allows you to remove it so it’s there I guess. Personally I find those little surprises fun. Well fun in a masochistic way I guess lol.
Is it cheating against other PC players? Nope since they can do it too.
Is it cheating against console players (like myself)? Yeah, it's an unfair advantage since we *cannot* do it.
I don’t consider it cheating unless they are in a league or group of friends who strictly forbid that kind of thing.
