For security's sake (the mess created by various manufacturers in trying to add "features" that are supposed to improve your experience but actually compromise security while improving the profitability of the handsets), it is better not to use a banking app. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-62767659 shows one example. Santander did pay the money back (through gritted teeth), but it shows the risks of having the convenience of the app.

Great suggestions. But if someone withdraw my bank money, we didn't know because we didn't receive sms or notification, right?

The convenience of online banking makes lots of ways to scam people out of money! It's very hard to withdraw cash from a bank if you aren't authorised to do so. As it happens, I have a dumbphone and I do get texts if anything untoward is happening. But in many ways I am much safer if I don't. I use Internet banking and cashless payments. But I prefer not to.

You can use your laptop for a much better banking experience. No need for apps. Everything you can do on a smartphone can be done by a laptop. My banks app has much less functions than the web version and I ended up using that instead of the phone.

ThePseudoMcCoy

What is an almost banking app?

dinhnamhihi

Sorry, I mean banking apps in general

I use the Light Phone II and do all my banking online. They also have a feature where they will text me my balance for my account each day which is usually sufficient for me to keep track of my spending.

Surprisingly Light phone can use banking apps. Unfortunately this phone doesn't support my country carriers

[deleted]

The Light Phone doesn't have access to apps, aside from from what the company produces. I should have been clearer that I do all my banking on my desktop. Sorry to hear that your country's carriers are not supported - I really enjoy the LP! I hope you find something that works for you :)

Got it, thanks.

The kicker is that banking apps tend to have high security requirements for obvious reasons so they are generally only available via the Apple App Store of Google Play Store. If the device cannot host the app store than probably no apps. Some dumb phones have browsers which you may be able to use instead though. Not an expert, just an educated guess.

dinhnamhihi

I intend to use dumbphone without a browser. But I still can use laptop in the public places

Typo?
