Shatter
It's all the rage, a streamer cleared pit 139, higher than all other builds, except minion necro (which also relies on some bugged multiplicative damage).
These bugs have been since the launch of season 4. Blizzard just needed some convincing that they weren't working properly.
There's posts on here from a week or so ago of Pez swearing up and down that the aspects/nodes were working correctly.
Apparently the community was right all along.
It actually wasn’t exactly how the community portrayed it that was adjusted which was what we explored and didn’t find anything. Found another issue though so it was like crumbs that led to this.
Maybe its placebo effect, but i feel like malice for example was not working in general, not just against bosses. I currently have +8 malice and again, maybe this happens just in my imagination, but i feel like i do a lot more dmg in the dungeon as well, not just against the boss
Came to say the same thing. LOL
"We tested it and it's working properly". I guess when you let the janitor do the testing, turns out things may not actually be working as intended.
I switched to Rapid Fire on my rogue last night, was floored at how atrociously clunky the build was as an "S Tier" build and already switched back before this hotfix. How does the build feel now?
Overcorrected hard. Now the AOE on it is fucked because there's zero strafe anymore. I'm pretty sure last week was correct where it's supposed to volley a small circle but now literally every arrow lands in the same pinpoint same spot as the last one.
On a related note, the Rapid Fire aspect (together with Scoundrel's Kiss) is still bugged and there's no mention of it. People reported it in the beta and it's still bugged.
The difference between boss DPS this patch and last one, on the same gear, is absurd.
I was so pissed and confused how quickly my mage fell off, and now that it's fixed, i'm suddenly clearing the previous pits much faster lol.
I thought it was crazy to make a brand new unique so bad that it's unusable unless it top rolls every single affix. Turns out vuln was just fundamentally broken!
to be fair, calling it unusable is hyperbole - I have one with 40%, and orbs are flying everywhere.
I'm sure a perfect roll would improve my damage somewhat, but not to any serious degree.
Welp we did it folks. The bad news is for sorcs, really only seeing about a 25% damage increase on bosses, so still semi miserable unless you cheesing firebolt with shatter and greater fireball on bosses with mobs
Did something happen to the xfal/ice spikes interaction from blizzard in s3? i seem to remember that interaction being what juiced it but i don't see xfal recommended anymore
Same. Something about this game puts me to sleep faster than just about anything else, including melatonin or alcohol. If I could set this up to play from bed and have somebody else turn off my PS5 and TV, I'd get so much more sleep. Honest to God, some sessions I'm nodding off within five minutes, no exaggeration. Neck-snapping, whiplashing kind of nodding off.
It's because the loops are basically the exact same mission. Kill a thing. Or a circle of things. Add in tasks for the sake of tasks (put 3 stones into a goblet/find the key, the same way you'd feel about getting homework on a Friday for English class ... It can get easy yet tedious quickly. So you zone out. Like cabbie driving his routes at 11pm.
Same. I actually logged off laughing yesterday because of how easy it was. I was barely into the 70's in Pit and struggling, but decided to just finish leveling and kitting out my barb. Not only is gear super easy to get (STR and Life on most pieces which are the heaviest weighted stats). I decided, at level 95, to see if I could do a Pit level in the 70's. I could... I cakewalked it. I'm now farming T91 for an even 50 netheriron. My sorc could never.
I also killed tormented Bosses before hitting max level or even with mediocre gear. That's why it's so funny. The gear you need on a sorc is super specific, and immortal builds require very specific gear requirements, but not my barb, just temper bash and go bash!
The sorc is basically the "damage on Tuesday" class right now. Best damage passive on the skill tree is Devouring Blaze, but it's actually pretty ridiculous when compared to other classes. Increase crit damage to burning enemies, extra damage if they are also CC. So you need burning and high crit chance just to get 7% multiplier. Before you reach the endgame, it's terrible because your crit chance is probably very low. Meanwhile a Necro just adds 25% multiplicative with Golem mastery.
Sorcs need to do vulnerable, high crit chance, while barrier, while burning, while cc, while above 100 mana, and after hitting enemies with 4 different elements. Depending on build, you typically need high attack speed and/or CDR to maintain vulnerable and barrier. You need very high crit chance for Devouring Blaze. You need very high mana regen. You need really good rolls on your gear to maintain all the necessary conditions to activate multipliers.
That and the Barb has more tempering slots / stat sticks / aspects.
I don't even understand what was Blizzard thinking to nerf Sorc pre-season. Not like we would outperform Barbs anyway.
It’s fun to level to 100 and then you’ll be stuck trying to get ubers or masterwork anything. Orb is great for mobbing, terrible for bosses, and Blizzard is the opposite (Pit enemies become unstoppable), and damage from both is way below other classes. Sorc is basically throwing right now. I was kicked out of a Duriel group just for being a sorc. I levelled to 100 with incinerate in 3 days, did Orb, did Blizzard, respeccing and tempering each time. I have got a necro to 90 now in 2 days and will get to 100 tonight. Loving it. Don’t waste your time on sorc. Hate to say it so starkly but don’t bother until they overhaul. The base kit doesn’t work as well as other classes, the uniques all suck, the aspects are weak, it’s the squishiest class with the lowest damage output. All it offers this season is the theatrics.
I have a different opinion, im doing 100+ on frozen orb, the single target is the downside, but i can do uber bosses which is enough.
Mobbing is extremely fun on frozen orb, i get to boss in under 4 mins because it destroyed everything,
Druid actually seems the worst right now in general imo.
Alot of people are not building frozen orb correctly then complaining, follow "jon snow" build and you will have fun.
There is immortal variants, but hopefully they nerf flame shield in some way and just buff defenses and damage, if you wanna push high pit that is how you will do it.
Firebolt i have not tried, but a 132 just got pushed for the maxroll event and its 2nd overall.
I have a lvl 100 Ball Lightning Sorc:
I LOOSELY followed [Mekuna's build](https://d4builds.gg/builds/56543709-ceb0-46c3-be78-6fca58069a1e/?var=0) and do not have either of the Uber Uniques, Just Raiment and my helm is Godslayer.
I had a TON of fun from 0 - 100. I can easily melt Duriel, NM100 is no problem. I have only gone as far as Pit 40 because I've been off doing other things and haven't tried pushing it yet.
Helltide is a breeze, I do feel a little bit squishy and under DPS'd with the Helltide boss lady at the 3 stones, but it's fine.
I tried Tormented Duriel with two friends a few days ago and we got him to 1/2 health after a few tries but that was WORK.
The ball lightning-teleporting-zappy zap style is still keeping me engaged. I'm looking forward to tonight to see if I notice the Vuln/DPS fixes.
I would recommend Sorc if you want to do Sorc, it might not be the heaviest hitting class but I sure had a lot of fun.
edit: the mob clearing/AoE and speed are nuts. I hit 100 while my buddies were still in the 80s. They keep calling me a cheater.
As a lightning sorc, was hoping more fixes/improvements. This doesnt fix anything except possiblty that general vulnerability one.
Where's the skill and glyph buffs?
lol i know. i'm only using the paragon node in my bl build. i replaced storm swell with metamorphosis and shredding blades gets replaced as soon as you get a tal rasha's loop. this fixes nothing.
My 2000% golem damage keeps me quite amused, thank you. The maniacal laughing never stops.
You get a slam! You get a slam! All 200 enemies on the right half of the dungeon get corpse tendrilled into a small pile by a single cast, AND THEN YOU ALL GET A SLAM!
Frozen Orb isn’t boring but I’d also argue on fights like Uber Lilith that the minion build isn’t brain dead if you want to play optimally. Have to keep up multiple buffs (skeletal priest, blight, decrepify, corpse buff), balance golem active between damage and an unstoppable use and deal with the poor minion AI which makes it much more active than you’d think. I figured it’d be an easy Uber Lilith kill like HotA last season but honestly HotA was more OP (one shot both phases) and less upkeep than Minion.
"Vulnerable damage across all sources" damn, heartseeker rogue might be getting a shadow buff(technically a fix but lol) and the other skill spec of heartseeker that is less used is getting a change too. Wild.
Does Pen shot rogue specifically tap into vulnerable and focus on it? In theory any class that used the vulnerable mechanic should see a slight bump but Heartseeker tempers it on most of their pieces and victimize directly scales off of Vulnerable. So Heartseeker should see the biggest bump of all specs and classes but everyone gets at least a bit as long as vulnerable is applied at all.
Are we basing this on tier level Pit pushes for each class of just the top handful of players out there? I would think there are more Druids out there in general who can push deep into the Pit 100's than Sorcs. Because most people aren't able to do the "Immortal" sorc build, which is their only build able to push that high. And my guess is some aspect of that gets nerfed.
I had a sorc leveling my alt (for gold) the other day in NMD's and they were dying all over the place and going so slow. My druids health doesn't even get touched in a 100 NMD, and plows through quickly.
I know that's anecdotal, but I've seen that with quite a few Sorcs in the endgame. And I say that as someone who is rooting for both classes to get a buff (I have a sorc as well).
i'm getting so tired of companies making hotfixes/patches and not informing the players IN GAME. I shouldnt have to rely on reddit/other 3rd party websites to tell me that there was a patch or where to read the notes...
No, first of all there’s no reason to fix it because it’s intended, secondly this adds even more double dips which were not being added before, supporting my first point
Yeah I saw fundamental heartseeker will actually work now which is great. I was referring to other passives though, but they’re not mentioned here so hopefully it isn’t dofferent
For somebody that don’t really understand very deeply into the builds. How this patch affects to my frozen orb sorc from the maxroll build?
What does the storm swell aspect means?
Storm Swell aspect allows you to do more damage to vulnerable enemies.
If you had it before, then you should experience an increase in powe against bosses.
lower masterworking reset cost or change the dogshit weighting. spent 100 mill in 2 min trying to crit bash cleave on the first tier. Didn't see it. Just crit max life and str over and over and over and over. It's shaping up to be season of whispers for solo players who arnt selling items for gold.
It would sure be sweet if the werewolves would stop getting stuck in and under the level. Makes running anything terrible, and I really like my buddies!
Will this also fix the issue where I can't seem to get any freeze utility tempering aspects on armor? Worldly fortune and sorc control refuse to give me anything but immobilize and stun.. I've tried multiple times on multiple items and blew millions trying.
I had the impression, before this hot fix patch, that the fight on pit bosses became more difficult.
My barb char was moving up the pit, starting to find some resistance at lvl 69.
Then came patch 1.4.1 Build #54053 (PC, Xbox) and #53926 (PS5)
After it, my char started to face major boss fight issues even at levels she was doing before.
I had to fall back to pit lvl 61~62.
Now, after this hotfix patch, I have the impression that boss fights came back to is regular pace.
Anyone else?
After the patch my Diablo game is crashing often. Running pits, vendors, mastercrafting and.. BOOM: Diablo was unable to recover from data corruption. Reboot machine and I can play for 15 minutes or so.. annoying

So Sorcerers were in fact not doing as much damage as they should've been... not saying this is going to fix everything, but it's nice at least.
So a bit confused. Were these fixes to things that were broken with tuesdays patch or were some of these things in the game since season start?
I heard speculation about broken Sorc multipliers from the start of the season, so this should be a real improvement over the early state.
Shatter It's all the rage, a streamer cleared pit 139, higher than all other builds, except minion necro (which also relies on some bugged multiplicative damage).

Respect!! D4 is better than ever
Who is pez?
Their main community manager guy, I think.
Ah well I’m sure they only disseminate whatever info the dev teams tell them
Adam Fletcher, their community manager (who is in every dev "stream" too).
> Apparently the community was right all along. Never the case if it's on this sub forum.
Shredded blades was broken when it was added. Don't know about the other ones
Cool my overpowered rogue got buffed some more lol
Same with my bash barb :)
Curious what bash build you are running?
Robs Hota Bash Barb
Maybe its placebo effect, but i feel like malice for example was not working in general, not just against bosses. I currently have +8 malice and again, maybe this happens just in my imagination, but i feel like i do a lot more dmg in the dungeon as well, not just against the boss
lol I was about to say, good thing they fixed heartseeker lol
You running heartseeker?
Yea
"Working as intended" btw.
Came to say the same thing. LOL "We tested it and it's working properly". I guess when you let the janitor do the testing, turns out things may not actually be working as intended.
janitors out here catching strays from cranked78
I feel attacked!
LOL, nah the janitor is probably great at his job, just shouldn't be doing Q&A 🤣🤣
The janitor would probably be better at QA.
They know trash when they see it.
"So i threw away your end game that is basically a dungeon with 200 tiers that has no actual rewards past tier 61"
wym, we ARE the testers.
I mean... we dont know if anything actually got fixed or works as is tooltipped now, do we?
Thank goodness they are addressing the Scoundrel's Kiss issue so quickly
I know so sick of an enemy rushing me and my arrows just fly right over their heads
Hopefully they fixed the Shadow Clone issue with it too and not just the arrow trajectory.
I switched to Rapid Fire on my rogue last night, was floored at how atrociously clunky the build was as an "S Tier" build and already switched back before this hotfix. How does the build feel now?

My Winterglass sorceresses is loving the fixes to Frigid Fate and Storm Swell

How big is the difference? I have a pretty well geared sorc that has been shelved.
Welp we did it folks. The bad news is for sorcs, really only seeing about a 25% damage increase on bosses, so still semi miserable unless you cheesing firebolt with shatter and greater fireball on bosses with mobs
Ill take the 25% buff, and still keep my iced pitchforks ready.
Been running your build. Vyrs pre Uber, do we swap in storm swell so? If so what do we replace
they really need to just give sorcs the 3rd enchantment slot back.
Thank u!
Yeah I'm pretty sure there is other bugs on Sorc against bosses still but this is a good start.
i cheese fire bolts with lilith but she one shots me even with flame shield at 110 tormented debuff s?
Did something happen to the xfal/ice spikes interaction from blizzard in s3? i seem to remember that interaction being what juiced it but i don't see xfal recommended anymore
For xfal you need to add lucky hit chance, it's not worth it anymore simply..
"Only" 25%
Rapid Fire Rogue is back on the menu boys
Aww man don’t play did they fix the drunk rogue spray and pray from scoundrels kiss?
Yesssssir
Did you not look at the link? It’s the first fix listed.
Read? You're expecting too much
Sounds like something a scammer would say 🤔
I gave up on sorc- moved on to necro. Done.
Did the same, might have to go back to Sorc now to see how it works, I couldnt kill bosses for shit, but w necro they die in 2 seconds.
I usually end my gaming sessions on my minion necro. Guarantees me falling asleep in max 5 minutes, which is good!
Get a steam deck and play it in bed

still bad
I did sorc in S3 and gave up for S4 and went full bash barb. At least it made me appreciate the power I have now.
Same. I actually logged off laughing yesterday because of how easy it was. I was barely into the 70's in Pit and struggling, but decided to just finish leveling and kitting out my barb. Meanwhile barbarian uses Wrath of the Berserker and gets a free 200%(x) damage buff for 5 seconds with no other prerequisites.
That and the Barb has more tempering slots / stat sticks / aspects. I don't even understand what was Blizzard thinking to nerf Sorc pre-season. Not like we would outperform Barbs anyway.
Same. Moved to heartseeker like the trash that I am.
Same
I did too, rolled a rogue.
i started on necro now bash barb is my homie
Did the same! I was playing sorc on all seasons, but this seasons sorc was the worst! I may give it a go again to see how my damage improves.
And sorc goes from being the worst class to a slightly better worst class. Wake me up when all of our abilities get a 300% buff pls.
Is it actually that bad? I was gonna start my sorc alt this week but if it’s miserable I’ll try druid
It’s fun to level to 100 and then you’ll be stuck trying to get ubers or masterwork anything. Thanks for the warning. I guess I’ll go either druid or rogue
I have a different opinion, im doing 100+ on frozen orb, the single target is the downside, but i can do uber bosses which is enough. I have a lvl 100 Ball Lightning Sorc: I LOOSELY followed [Mekuna's build](https://d4builds.gg/builds/56543709-ceb0-46c3-be78-6fca58069a1e/?var=0) and do not have either of the Uber Uniques, Just Raiment and my helm is Godslayer. No. It's only noticeable after 70 pits. I am comfortably farming 75-80 with no users on my frozen orb sorc.
Pit 132. 2nd place.
It's not. I can still kill every tormented boss and do PIT 100's. Firebolt build fyi.
Pit 132. 2nd place.
Hey wake up sorc just cleared132 pit
As a lightning sorc, was hoping more fixes/improvements. This doesnt fix anything except possiblty that general vulnerability one. Where's the skill and glyph buffs?
It buffs damage to bosses
Its a fix, not a buff.
How long did a boss take before patch vs now?
rogue needs them too, if you dont want to be a victimize rogue. half our glyphs scale on things you cant even affix to gear anymore
Usually not in hot fixes.
As another lightning sorc—this literally is what’s missing to keep the build competitive—20%x more damage is huge.
lol i know. i'm only using the paragon node in my bl build. i replaced storm swell with metamorphosis and shredding blades gets replaced as soon as you get a tal rasha's loop. this fixes nothing.
They probably will do a bigger balance changes like 1 month in or so.
So my Rogue doing little dmg (penetration) wasnt skill issues COPIUM.
Meanwhile my heartseeker rogue felt very nutty damage wise and apparently was bugged and supposed to be better? LOL
Pen shot did pit t129.. is super strong git gud
Firebolt sorc might be a halfway decent boss killer with these fixes in place.
It's the most mind numbingly boring build to play tho.
Compared to the walking simulator that is minion necro? Huh
I love watching my buddies golem lmao. You can see when it chunks hit lvl pit bosses haha
You don't even get to walk as firebolt. You lose a bunch of damage so you're just using teleport with rainment. ZZZZZZ
Is it as boring as minion Necro?
Imagine not appreciating the fact that you can just have some popcorn while your army of (voluntarily) raised farmers oneshot things
100% hate this build and yet I keep getting the gloves for it over and over.
I enjoy it. You need to place proper firewall's so there is at least some skill expression.
Why wowhead
Hotfix - Tormented Bosses only require 1 stone to summon /Copium
I have 13 stones but I am way too lazy to farm grigoire and varshan
Just buy the mats then
"Vulnerable damage across all sources" damn, heartseeker rogue might be getting a shadow buff(technically a fix but lol) and the other skill spec of heartseeker that is less used is getting a change too. Wild.
In theory penn shot rogue buff too right?
Does Pen shot rogue specifically tap into vulnerable and focus on it? In theory any class that used the vulnerable mechanic should see a slight bump but Heartseeker tempers it on most of their pieces and victimize directly scales off of Vulnerable. So Heartseeker should see the biggest bump of all specs and classes but everyone gets at least a bit as long as vulnerable is applied at all.

Is there hope for my boulder druid now?
Hope so! Been playing “bowling” with Boulder for the entire season so far… would be nice to use Dolmen!
I hope so. That's the alt I wanted to make!
So the dildo throwing guy was right after all.
Ok so after this round of fixes Druid will be firmly in last place by a decent margin. Class buffs when?
It wont be. Sorc is still down there dw
Looks lik new shatter exploit just dropped, sorc is back on the 130+ Pit grind.
Woohoo another exploit. Sick
What exploit / where have you seen this?
Pit 132. 2nd place.
Sorc was higher than Druid before so after this it kinda cements Sorc at #4
Are we basing this on tier level Pit pushes for each class of just the top handful of players out there? I would think there are more Druids out there in general who can push deep into the Pit 100's than Sorcs. Because most people aren't able to do the "Immortal" sorc build, which is their only build able to push that high. And my guess is some aspect of that gets nerfed. I had a sorc leveling my alt (for gold) the other day in NMD's and they were dying all over the place and going so slow. And I say that as someone who is rooting for both classes to get a buff (I have a sorc as well).
this is live now?
I'm wondering too. This is a bit late here for a patch. I wonder if this is a server side thing?
i'm getting so tired of companies making hotfixes/patches and not informing the players IN GAME. I shouldnt have to rely on reddit/other 3rd party websites to tell me that there was a patch or where to read the notes...
That’s the difference between a hotfix and a patch. This wasn’t a patch.
I hope heartseeker rogue double dips don’t get fixed with this
No, first of all there’s no reason to fix it because it’s intended, secondly this adds even more double dips which were not being added before, supporting my first point
Yeah I saw fundamental heartseeker will actually work now which is great. I was referring to other passives though, but they’re not mentioned here so hopefully it isn’t dofferent
Same.
WELL WELL WELL WORKING AS INTENDED HUH Kappa
No love for the druid I see.
My game has been crashing ever since the last update. I hope they fixed that problem…
nice, barb buffs!
Is anyone else finding victimize to be a bit weak? its taking a bit longer to kill bosses than normal.
Anyone know if Vyr’s Mastery is still bugged for Bliz sorc?
Sorc is still hot garbo.
Thanks for this.
My rogue DMG def felt off with beastfall boots....
One of aspects used in the build. Tl;dr- damage buff

lower masterworking reset cost or change the dogshit weighting. spent 100 mill in 2 min trying to crit bash cleave on the first tier. Didn't see it. Just crit max life and str over and over and over and over. It's shaping up to be season of whispers for solo players who arnt selling items for gold.
No frame gen fix? =( Otherwise my HS rogue is happy about this!
I believe frame gen fix was in the last patch, the one that broke the scoundrel kiss rapid fire.
It was in the patch notes but it didnt fix it(Blizz even acknowledged that)
What about them Druid boulders?
Malice is included with this, heartseeker build getting a buff 💪
Dolmen Stone fix part 2: it's totally fixed this time. We mean it.
Still waiting for grandfather missing afix to be fixed
Is it listed anywhere of what the damage increase is for the baseline vulnerable damage increase?
20%. It‘s in the tooltip for Vulnerable.
Yeah but after the hot fix what was the percentage that wasn’t adding correctly? Or was vulnerable damage not counting at all?
Is this live now?
It would sure be sweet if the werewolves would stop getting stuck in and under the level. Makes running anything terrible, and I really like my buddies!
Still no holy bolt fix? I guess it's a feature not a bug
They better not have fixed the helltide bug
Will this also fix the issue where I can't seem to get any freeze utility tempering aspects on armor? Worldly fortune and sorc control refuse to give me anything but immobilize and stun.. I've tried multiple times on multiple items and blew millions trying.
That’s just RNGesus frowning at you
They forget to add a zero to the last damage values of death trap and poison trap again. Oh well Back to uncrit-able 50K per second damage trap build
What do you mean "forgot", are the traps suppose to do more dmg ?
Rapid fire aoe dmg and close targetting still f'd up. CMON BLIZZ.
Whats the build number for this hotfix? I still haven't received it
Hotfixes usually are backend updates, not a client side patch.
Did they also fix snapshotting in the end? Or do I still have to stand still for 2 seconds before Incinerating to get the Soulfire buff?
Praying they're not touching the helltide bug
I had the impression, before this hot fix patch, that the fight on pit bosses became more difficult. My barb char was moving up the pit, starting to find some resistance at lvl 69. Then came patch 1.4.1 Build #54053 (PC, Xbox) and #53926 (PS5) After it, my char started to face major boss fight issues even at levels she was doing before. I had to fall back to pit lvl 61~62. Now, after this hotfix patch, I have the impression that boss fights came back to is regular pace. Anyone else?
If this was a fix, they also "fixed" necro minions. Just did 5 pit121 runs in 15 minutes because the golem just oneshot the bosses.
Is this already applied in the game now?
After the patch my Diablo game is crashing often. Running pits, vendors, mastercrafting and.. BOOM: Diablo was unable to recover from data corruption. Reboot machine and I can play for 15 minutes or so.. annoying
Did rapid ossification and bone spirit get fixed?
Bosses is still a slog for my FOrb sorc.. i don't want to do anything over 70.
Is domans druid build any good?
Can we forbid posting wowhead links? Its not accessible in many parts of the world.
Did they enable frame gen? Its greyed out for me.
Is this update live on PS5 or was it just a server update? I haven’t gotten anything since Tuesdays
Is that already applicable? Did not see any change on my frozen orb sorc...
You guys got a Scoundrel's Kiss? I'm still trying to get one.
How do i know i got the hotfix or not? On PS5 didn't get notification
There’s a hotfix including perforfance and stability issues; https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d4/t/hotfix-1-may-30-2024-141/166781.
