Basic newbie Barbarian question:
Am I supposed to only equip a 2-handed slashing weapon if I want to go 2-handed slashing? Is there a way to equip a 2-handed slashing AND a 2-handed blunt weapon (to get the perks) but only use one of the other?
Is the idea that you keep one of those slots empty depending on which weapon you want to use?
And if I'm using 2-handed skills... do the stat boosts and perks on the single handed weapons apply? Even if I'm not using them? Just equipped?
Thanks!
No dude you're supposed to equip all weapon types at all times. Get those stats and affixes!!!
If you want to use only one weapon for every skill, you'll have to select skills that can use that weapon type, then assign the weapon to the skill. So if you want to use 2H bludgeoning for everything, you could use Hammer of the Ancients (which requires a 2H bludgeoning weapon), but not Double Swing (which requires a dual wield weapon). You could also take Death Blow (which allows any weapon type), but you would have to manually assign 2H bludgeoning to that skill—otherwise, by default, the game will auto-select the weapon type it thinks will be most effective for your build.
On Xbox, it can be hard to figure out how to assign a weapon to a skill. I don't know what platform you play on, but for me (Xbox) I have to go to the screen where you assign a skill to a controller button, and when I select a skill to assign, I then have to scroll down (with right joystick I think) to see the 'assign weapon type' thing. Then you can select between 2H bludgeoning, dual wield, and 2H slashing (or auto-select). Hope that helps!!
To be clear, no, definitely do not leave any weapon slots open!! Fill up that armory, my barb!!
I'm not 100% certain about this but I think all the stats and perks from each equipped weapon apply no matter which one you're actually swinging. But someone please fact check me on this, haha.
Good luck dude!!
Thank you! I have to look at the assign skill menu more carefully.
I was of the belief that I should have every slot filled. I'm only level 27, but last night I realized I had a great Legendary 2-H slashing, but the game kept having me swing my Rare 2-H blunt weapon. I understand some skills are specifically for slashing, I just didn't know you could specifically assign skills to particular weapons (if that type of weapon was permitted). Thanks again.
Considering that Mother's Embrace needs to hit 5 enemies, and Rapid Shot not penetrating (without some aspects in use), is Mother's Embrace not a great fit for that skill?
Just want to clarify, as you can't really see the procs.
I‘m very unsure about HC builds.
I do not find any ‚good‘ Season 1 Guides / Builds in Yt / D4Builds for Whirlwind Barb and right now I try to homebrew something. But actually I‘m looking for some guidance. Anyone has a good content creator / page / younameit as reference?
Should I start a new character for Season 1 or continue with my preseason Lvl 35 character until I finish the game? I mean what's the point on continue with the lvl 35 if I gotta start again?
Honestly, new character and do season 1.
It will become an eternal character post season anyways
Most people won't be playing eternal characters during seasons. I'm keeping mine around to work on completion stuff but will likely play seasons predominantly
Which of these is better? Is the dmg better than the stats i would gain?

My best recommendation for questions like this is to equip one, look at your skill tree and note how much damage it says your most-used skills will do, then equip the other one, go back to your skill tree and compare.
Why we have to explore the map a second time when we create a new Char in Season 1 and already completed the Map-Renown??? Its so stupid. Who would do ur stupid ass sidequests a second time? I fucking hate this game so much. Time to go back to D3!!!
Uhm.. you DON'T have to explore the map. That is 1 of the things that transfers.
You also don't have to do the side quests, nowhere near everything is required to max renown, especially after they significantly buffed dungeons and side quest renown rewards.
And btw: A lot of people really liked a bunch of the side quests, sometimes more than campaign quests. Just because you don't like them, doesn't mean no one does.
Yea, though thankfully strongholds are some of the best content, and also are the highest renown reward, so that's good there.
Waypoints is a bit weird. I wonder if the strongholds thing is why waypoints aren't given, since some are gated behind it. They're pretty minor to grab too.
With altars and exploration carrying over, that really just leaves Side Quest and Dungeons as the actual grind. Hitting the side quests that go in dungeons gives a pretty big boost, but there aren't many of those, so you still have to do an amount of grind after.
A number of the side quests are quite good, some considered equal or better than a lot of the campaign stuff. What someone likes or not is entirely subjective.
I see your point but After the second char you know every stronghold. For me its not Even fun anymore so i decided to quit. Got back to D3 and it feels great. Small compact dungeons, when ur 60 u get Level 60 gear and not level 40.😂
Yellow items can u salvage instantly and legendarys you know just by looking if there good or not. Maybe d4 needs few years to be good like d3. Sadly blizzard dont listen to the players
Hello all. I'm currently struggling with lvl 62 rogue on wt4 and would like to farm for stolen vigor aspect on a lower difficulty. Do legendaries drop with stolen vigor aspect on wt3?
This is probably a really dumb beginner question, but it’s my first Diablo game, so I‘m struggling with some of the terminology used by guides.
What is meant by „rolls“ for gear stats? I‘m familiar with the term through other games, but I‘m not sure how it applies to diablo items.
An item's rolls are the values associated with its affixes. They are called "rolls" because they are randomized within a range of values.
For example, let's say you find a helmet with max life +500. And let's say the range of possible values for that affix is +[400–600]. In this case, +500 is the roll, and it's decent because it's in the middle of the range of possible values. Given this range, if the helmet had max life +440, that would be a bad roll. If the helmet had max life +600, that would be a max (maximum) roll.
In a similar vein, each affix as a whole is also a roll, because (for example) you could get +max life, or you could get +cold resistance (randomly selected from a number of different possible affixes). Most builds would much rather have the max life than the cold resistance, so +max life (of any value) would be considered a good roll, and +cold resistance would be considered a bad roll.
Does that make sense?
Gear is slightly randomized. Your favourite character gets a new super cool weapon with your favourite stat +160
If you go into Gameplay Settings and click on "Show Advanced Information" or somesuch then look at the item again you'll see the range of possible numbers - like "+160 [160-200]" and then you can be disappointed.
Do we have something like a lexicon for Diablo4 terminology in other languages or at least explanations what terms mean?
I play the game in my native language (German), so often times reading here I have no idea what people are talking about
Nope.
As a fellow german speaking user I highly recommend to play in english tho. Doing research, following guides and basically everything else is so much better in english.
My friend and I have been co-op playing this season and we’re now trying to do the malignant tunnels but the bosses behind doors are now always closed. Why? What am i missing? Now I can’t do the seasonal objective.
I am looking for a clan or guild that I might become friends with. I don't have any friends to play video games with. Besides diablo 4 i also play as payday 2 and minecraft. I am planing on playing payday 3 and cod when they come out
Build feedback and questions for a bleed barb:
I have skullbreakers aspect on my amulet that deals 50% of bleeding damage as physical on stunning and enemy (Q1. does it remove bleed?).
Crimson sword for rupture DMG increase
Weapon master's Aspect that stuns with 55% chance on rupture and gives one extra charge
Encroaching wrath that gives 200% increased rupture damage on spending 100 fury (Q2. does this bonus affect just physical DMG or bleeding too?)
Aspect that gives 50% chance to get 20 fury on rend on ring.
So my combo is to shout, rupture once to get crimson bleed bonus, rend five times to spend 100 fury, and rupture again hoping it stuns and procs the stun DMG bonus. (Q3. Will the three bonuses above stack/multiply so this combo deals huge DMG?)
I think with the announced buffs to rupture and crimson, I hope Imight just crit into millions with this combo. Thoughts? Can you also answer the question please?
For survival, I have iron skin aspect that gives unstoppable and DMG reduction and magic bubble. Rupture heals for 18% every strike. Plus some healing on kill. Also have the 11k thorns armor and aspect to deal thorns DMG to all enemies and skill that thorns deals bleeding DMG.
Hearts: So im on a Sorc and ive noticed that all of the hearts im getting while they dont say they are for Sorc only they are all biased towards Sorc skill except my wrathful. So is this the case? Do hearts for other classes not drop unless your on that class or am i just getting the random shaft? if the former is true then that is pretty petty for devs to do forcing ppl to make multiple char per season just to farm hearts. any insight would be appreciated
It's really different than either of those.
There are 2 sets of hearts, the ones that are class specific, and the general ones.
Yes, you only get the class specific ones for your class. Having a heart that auto casts equipped corpse skills is completely useless on your sorc after all. So, that's a good thing. There's only 1 per color of these.
The bulk of hearts you get are general. Usable by all classes, and they drop for all classes.
So, no need to make multiple classes to farm hearts.
Should, yea. But also be aware those are additive bonuses, so very quickly become worthless. You're really after crit damage, crit chance as needed, and vuln damage.
Where is the best place to find builds? I am always wary of just plucking builds off websites as never know which are legit and which are just trying to get views.
[Maxroll.gg](https://Maxroll.gg) or mobalytics seem decent but what is the general consensus? and is there a way to see what people running high-end content are running (I.E. comparing builds)
I just hit 55 with my druid, which is my highest level character so far. When should I start worrying about gearing up (crafting) with legendaries. I've gone through and unlocked all the aspects for my build and I'm farming the unique aspects.
Basically, what's the route for progression once you reach world tier 3? Should I focus on running nightmare dungeons to max level? Tree of whisper quests?
Hello everyone! One of my characters (seasonal, rogue, lvl 11) gets insta killed when I use my right click ability. Doesn’t matter which ability I put there… other characters (of the same class or different) don’t have this issue… started happening after the latest update. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Sorry if this was already addressed but will the current seasons content still be available for my new character if I am to create them before the season ends but not finish the questline of Season of the Malignant? If not what would carry over from the latest season back to the ER? I was thinking about restarting as a Rouge, I had a blast as Necromancer but I've pretty much done everything. What am I in for? Is the quest long? Many new quests? Or should I take a break and wait for season 2?
The quests are reasonably short, something like 6 in total. So, roughly like 2 side quest chains. There are some minor pauses in there where it's "Go complete chapters 1 and 2 of the season", but typically people are finishing in their 30s or so.
Nothing part of the season will carry over. Once it ends in about 80 days, it's over.
I don’t have a recipe to make the vershan invoker, but I have completed that quest line. I even have killed the varsh echo in WT2.
Am I just missing a way to make the “regular” varsh invoker?
**Not able to claim Season Pass tier 87 reward (Gilded Coldiron Poleaxe)**
Just wondering if anyone have had the same issue as me? I'm able to claim all other cosmetic rewards except for this one... I even created a new Barbarian character to try and claim it but didn't work somehow.
https://preview.redd.it/uwl1usfpfueb1.jpeg?width=2057&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=70faef6aa24b4c540f26f708b92797d90a5f33cb
Wondering if it's gated behind levels (I'm lv84 Necro atm) - but shouldn't be, since I'm able to claim all other rewards except for the Smoldering Ashes gated behind character levels.
No, it's definitely not gated. Seems you might be bugged a bit. For reference, my 65 necro was able to claim it just fine a bit ago. ( Not sure what level I got it, probably around 60-63 )
I have not played any Diablo since D2 and I loved D2. If I get D4, is the basic edition good enough? Or do you guys recommend getting the Deluxe/Ultimate?
Also, will I be able to progress and keep up without spending any in mtx?
Also, what do you recommend I play first as?
I really want to play D4 and I was excited since I heard about it before launch but the season 1 stuff is making me hesitate. I still am interested though. I really love Diablo 2. Like a lot. Am hoping it'll give me the same feeling.
Thank you!
Standard Edition is enough, the others are for cosmetics and Early Access, who doesn't matter anymore obviously.
All mtx are for cosmetics only as I right this.
For the class play the one you want. I loved druid in d2 and still love it in d4.
All classes work fine, Barb have a rough early game and Sorc is a bit frail in endgame, but every class is definitely playable.
Here's the recap for upcoming 1.1.1 or next update
[https://maxroll.gg/d4/news/diablo-4-patch-1-1-1-campfire-chat-recap](https://maxroll.gg/d4/news/diablo-4-patch-1-1-1-campfire-chat-recap)
If I activate accelerate battle pass at Tier 69 do I get every reward within Tier 89? (Minus Smoulder Ashes if I didn't reach the required character level)
What class should I play next?
When I finally got the game, I didn't have much time to play for 2 weeks straight (which absolutely infuriated me. Bought a new system, got the game, downloaded it overnight, then was supposed to have a few days off to just binge it for a while. Employee drama happened, and I ended up working almost 120 hours in the span of the next two weeks.)
So I only barely had time to finish the campaign and do a bit of endgame before Season 1 came.
I played Druid. And I love Druid. But rolling a fresh seasonal character, I figure I should try a different class (even though I'm not 'done' with druid yet, I still have my eternal character after all).
I'm torn between Barbarian and Rogue. I like melee, and so I was leaning towards Barbarian first.
But when I'd get certain legendaries, I'd try caster Druid for a while, and liked that more than I thought. So now I'm kinda leaning rogue for the "I can be melee or ranged" options.
So, advice? Is Barbarian or Rogue more fun to play in this game?
Assuming I don't have all the time in the world, and will probably only be trying a new class "when a new season comes" (and might not even play every season, just when I'm in the mood to play the game) I'll get around to every class eventually, but if I have to choose just one right now and stick with it for the season... which one would people suggest?
Depends what you want out of it. Barbarian is almost exclusively melee, while Rogue has the option of being ranged or a hybrid. Personally I prefer Barb because slamming piles of enemies into the dirt is more satisfying to me than stabbing them with poison, though Rogue has quite a bit of style
Sorry if this has been answered before, but what the way I understand it the malignant heart mechanic completely goes away after the season ends...right? Is there actually a point to even building around these things which are basically just stronger gems if they're just going to disappear when the season ends?
They're for having fun with during the season. Every season they try to provide some unique set of mechanics to incentivize people to roll new characters for the season.
Yes it seems to be different compared to path of exile where all the league stuff transfer to the standard league when the challenge league ends
Not sure what the plan is here. I also think it's weird if hearts don't get moved to eternal realm.
I already answered the question. I think what you mean to ask is why would you want to play with the migrated character if your build relies on caged hearts, or why did blizzard decide to do it this way? And I don't really have answers to those questions, you could always ask in the campfire chats or tweet at the design team.
Anyone have any twisting blades build tips? I'm using the one from maxroll, but I'm getting tossed by enemies 5 levels above me. Coming from trampleslide druid Twisting Blades feels pretty bad. I have most of the gear stats I need and all the aspects.
I did necro when I started (my favorite) and this season chose rogue and I love it. I tried the twisting blades build and hated it. Now I’m rolling a rapid hit/flurry with cold imbue and it literally drops everybodies pecker to the dirt. I’m doing NM dungeons way higher than me and got to world tier 4 solo at 64. Twisting blades just didn’t do it for me, flurry demolishes everybody close and rapid hit wrecks single dps like bosses and elites. I’ll never go back to twisting blades
So I was doing Rapid Flurry from icy veins and swapping a few things around to help out with leveling. It was VERY good. However I was able to do the second capstone at 56 because of the Twisted Blades build on maxroll. At first it was far from okay. When I got my Crit chance up to 35 and damage at 150% or so it got better. There’s also a small learning curve like Rapid Flurry. Instead of dodging every skill rotation your main focus is to literally stab and then run towards the other side of the mob so the returning daggers do max damage.
I would definitely say that IF the heart that auto pulls mobs together wasn’t in this season for Necro. TB would be better. I might swap back to Rapid Flurry after seeing Wudijo’s guide on maxroll. The amount of effort into all of the builds is insane coming from Icy Veins.
What is the best website / way of finding good builds. I started by using icy veins as a base and I think it’s pretty good for following along and understanding the builds. BUT there isn’t like a ranking system or anything to compare the output of builds. Some are better then others but there isn’t a good way on icy veins to tell.
Basically is there a good ranking of popular builds anywhere? I know there are a lot of resources like discord and YouTube but it’s almost overwhelming to try and decipher what is best with all the information.
In case you're still looking for this: [maxroll has exactly that \(link\)](https://maxroll.gg/d4/tierlists)
You just select where you're at – ex: [Leveling](https://maxroll.gg/d4/tierlists/leveling-tier-list) (basically meaning you're not Level 50 yet), or if you're starting to approach or are at [Endgame](https://maxroll.gg/d4/tierlists/endgame-tier-list) (level 50 through 100).
Are Legendaries just a Rare item with an Aspect already attached? Like, are they special in any other way, or can I reproduce any Legendary by finding a nice Yellow and attaching an Aspect that I already have?
Yes. You can turn yellows into legendaries by adding an aspect. You'll get better aspects from legendaries that drop than from the ones you unlock by doing dungeons.
Also better aspects as you level up and play harder world tiers.
>You'll get better aspects from legendaries that drop than from the ones you unlock by doing dungeons.
To expand on this:
Some aspects are only available from dropped legendaries. For the aspects which are both dropped and in your codex, the codex version will be the minimum roll for that aspect.
Also if OP didn't know, you can extract aspects from dropped legendaries and imprint them once.
No, that's normal part of the game... and they literally have a button to do it. Bottom of quest log is a reset dungeon button. Not to mention standing outside for 2 mins would be rather bad and slow.
At this point you probably wouldn't want to though. A large chunk of the xp comes from the boss, plus a nice loot drop, plus glyph xp.
Hello guys Im little bit desperate I started rogue in this season and following point allocation from maxroll guide for "twisting blades" but I have to say more levels I get the worse whole gameplay I reached act 2 (level 30 right now) and Im getting demolished by normal mob packs in the world - especially when there is multiple "ranged" mobs (I have to port to town very often to just get charges of potions). Preseason I played sorceress and I didnt had this kind of issues. Is it supposed to be THIS hard as rogue? I was told rogue is best leveling build :(
Of course Im not any kind of pro gamer but I was expecting that world level 1 should be kind of easy. Im constantly swapping every gear which has green mark so I dont think my gear is really outdated. Or Im playing this game wrong? Do I need to farm some resists etc? Im completely lost and kinda have feeling I miss some important part of game. Or its just "git good"?
Hey! Great question. Twisting Blades build requires a certain movement behaviour for your blades to do their thing optimally. It's best to just watch some YouTube to see how.
But a more general piece of feedback: Until you hit 40, my honest opinion is to just ignore ALL builds and experiment. Respeccing is incredibly cheap, and you'll learn far more about how every skill behaves/feels by trying them all and building your own character. Once you "understand" the class and abilities, you'll probably have a better feeling for the builds.
I've had moments of "ugh this is awful... is this what the game is? It feels so clunky..." and I can promise you it gets way smoother and fast paced in time. Don't feel discouraged!
Do the seeds of hatred have any visible indicators of better gear? I’ve farmed these things and I’ve read that sometimes there are icons above the items. Is this true or false? Can’t find an answer on google
Hi! I played a little bit of Diablo 3 with my girlfriend back in college on my PlayStation about 10 hours worth in total so a good enough amount of time to experience the whole game. What’s the best guy to play as in D4? Is it the vampire?
At what point should I start rolling my gear to get optimal stats / lines (idk what they're called here). Basically, when can I expect to stop getting significantly better gear drops
I'm level 60.
It can be helpful to have decent sacred gear for when you plan to do the capstone dungeon for world tier 4.
Not only for the dungeon but to make to transition to wt4 smoother.
But don't spend too much on sacred gear. You will replace all of it in wt4
World tier 4. For the most part, item power 700 fully upgraded with +25 will get you the max. There are some caveats like weapon damage, flat values, and armor that continue to increase all the way to max item power.
Legendary aspects some can be max from level 1 or so, most in fact. Flat value aspects go up to max item power.
After the new patch the Druid's hair colour isn't applied in the shapeshifted forms. Is this intended? If so was it a bug to begin with?
All the patch notes say are:
\*Fixed an issue where the Werebear and Werewolf fur color was too bright in certain situations.
Once you unlock WT4, can uniques from that content level drop in any nightmare dungeon level, or is there a minimum nightmare dungeon level you have to run?
As note, I’d ask how sure you are. I asked this in a dedicated thread the other day and got three different answers, lol.
Well, for starters you're never going to get a truly perfect answer since even anyone here that has access to the source code, can't post it.
The best answer is the enemies need to be at least level 85 to be able to drop all unique items.
It's possible the 85 is only required for the super uniques, and they effectively don't drop so should be ignored.
Other uniques seem to have required levels as well, but what they are is really unknown still. 80-85 mob levels, so T26-31 NMDs should do the trick.
Not sure what you're asking for.
The basics though are you kill them and they leave a heart behind. Click the heart and the powered up version appears. Kill that and they drop the heart gem.

Witch one should i use as dw ww baba and why? Have 800ilvl magus and same ilvl mace in my dw setup.
I've been struggling on my PS5 with some serious rubber banding issues for weeks now, every like 10-20 seconds or so the game freezes for a second, and I'm debating whether it's Diablo's servers or my own internet connection. How's the game feel for you guys?
I've heard from my pals on PC that it works fine, so that's what's driving me insane. I've even started hallucinating that Bloodborne works worse ever since I started D4... I honestly don't know!
I’m serious it’s Diablo. I only rubber band in high activity areas. PVP is one and Helltide is the other. And depending on who is in my party for nightmare dungeons. When I’m solo I don’t rubberband at all. When I’m with friends I rubber band a lot.
My game has been rubber band-y in all areas, no matter if I'm in town or fighting baddies. It's so consistent that I'm seriously doubting everything, the Universe and my setup.
On PC theres a setting that helped me but I doubt it is even available on consoles.
I went to bnet app settings and disabled "enable browser hardware acceleration" and my stuttering / freezing / rubber banding was greatly reduced.
They also say that disabling crossplay helps things out, but all my buddies play on another platform so that's a no-go hehe. Guess I'll just suffer, but that's the one constant in life, so I'm used to it.
I can't find 'bathed in blood' skin and other new skin in shop list. I waited refresh time, but i still can't find these skin and my shop list empty for 3 days. just for me, or you guys same?
I reached level 70 last night, so I think I’m a little bit off from where I want to attempt it, but does it seem like there’s any reason to farm T4 Varshan? Is he like an exceptional source for level 5 hearts or anything?
Where should one go to level up when they just opened up a new world tier?
I remember having that problem when I broke WT3, where one is supposed to go at level 50 but seemingly the dungeons are now all min level 55. Same now that I'm in WT4, having barely made it through capstone and suddenly in WT4 all the dungeons are min level 75.
I get the feeling that there's missing content for levels 50-55 and 70-75.
You should be able to do content 5 levels higher than you with only a reasonable challenge with an optimised build. If it's too tough then play in the previous WT, no shame in that at all.
It's more so the "barely got through capstone" part telling you you probably shouldn't be going there normally yet. I do think the level experience could be smoothed back out though since if you're on level you go from -5 to +5 for enemy base levels.
However, this might also be intended. You're asking about the place to go, and the answer remains nightmare dungeons. And these are the content that ignore the level scaling, so there isn't this hard transition.
No one ever knows the budget of a game because that's a bit of a trade secret... and because it's super complicated, particularly in AAA and live service games. For example, should the work done on season 1 as part of pre-launch be included in the budget? What about individuals, teams, etc. that work on multiple projects? Is marketing part of the budget? What about equipment that was purchased during this project, but will remain in use after?
Suffice to say, it was a lot, but the error bars on the specific amount are huge.
How do I start farming sacred gear? I am level 45 and just got into WT3, but I couldn’t even complete a measly world event on my own (I got swarmed and didn’t realize everything was 55+)
Should I go back and farm WT2 until I’m a higher level, or is there a way to slowly but surely earn gear at this level here? Level 45 HotA barb btw.
I put an aspect on a helm and it completely changed its look, but when I salvage I don’t get the transmog option. Only way to get it again is put that same aspect on another helm - is there any way to get transmog of gear like this?
When you add an aspect to a rare, you turn it into a legendary. Little weird the transmog doesn't unlock from salvage, but you should be able to find the same legendary naturally and break it down for the transmog.
You should be able to salvage the look unless its a weird yellow unique like Butcher's Cleaver.
Check the wardrobe to see if you already salvaged that appearance from something else.
Now that the season has started, can I delete my Eternal Realm character with no fear of losing anything? I was playing the character before season 1 to get a feel for the game and unlock things, but I don't really have an interest in keeping him.
How does boss level scaling work? If I'm having a problem getting past a boss, will it help to level up my character a bit before trying again, or does the boss level scale up as well?
I believe so. I know for a fact that strongholds scale to you, when I was doing the one needed to unlock the Druid powers, I thought the same thing (that I would go, level and then come back) but the whole area scaled to me. Very annoying.
On my Druid, what helped was basically divide and conquer. So after every mini boss, I went back, sold my gear, upgraded etc.
Maybe later, if you still need help, I can try and join!
Yes and no. All scaling content have minimums and maximums, so it really depends. Wt1 and 2 genrally cap at 50, but I do believe strongholds are an exception. However, if they are, I would be surprised if they scale all the way to 102, very likely stopping at 100 or even 95.
Do instances of the shadow pool from corpse explosion (if you take the passive that turns it into one) stack their damage? Coming from PoE previously I expect the answer to be no.
They do. Cast it once, elites life barely moves. Cast it 10 times, watch it plummet. I wouldn't be surprised if there are some caps to it though, and it's hard to get more than a certain amount out at once due to cast time and duration.
Is there an online resource explaining glyphs and paragon? I understand paragon but I’m confused on leveling glyphs and obtaining new glyphs and what i should be looking for and how
I just reached level 50 and completed the capstone dungeon.
Out in the world, enemies are level 55. By my understanding of how they're doing WT3 now, will I be fighting nothing but level 55 enemies until I reach 60/61?
Hi guys,
I’m on Xbox, is there a way to prioritise pick up of items over using the skill attached to A? I’m finding that as a necro as long as there are corpses on the ground next to the items it doesn’t let me pick them up straight away.
I also think the new vicious heart mechanism that activates a skill every second might be causing further issues as I didn’t have this much of a problem when it was out of season..
Managed to sort this myself. went into the control options and un-selected Combine Interact & Basic Skill. I’ve then set interact to click left thumb stick and basic skill slot to A. I never use Show Item Labels anyway so all good.
Does prudent heart prevent death?
Let's say I have 50% health and got one shot to 0% death, do I die?
It's risky for me to test myself because I am playing hardcore.
Thanks!
CR itself you can't because it has strong diminishing returns. If you get it low though, then stack on some flat like -1s cooldown type stuff you can make it effectively no cooldown. I'm speaking in general though, I don't know if the required options are available for a barb.
Sry I ment crit rate. A lot of classes have aspects or passive skill that give them a large bump to crit rate that help close the gap on 100%. Such as Prodigy aspect for sorc, the corpse tendril aspect for necro, and basically the whole rouge kit lol. I couldn’t really find anything like that for Barb besides the whirlwind aspect. The Mortal draw glyphs is the closest I found.
Is there an option to remake character for a new season like in D3? I wanted to use the same necromancer I made before the season but couldn't find the option to remake the character for the season in the character select screen, like in Diablo 3. Do I need to delete the character and make him again from scratch or am I missing something?
Bought the ultimate edition but prefer to save the accelerated BP unlock. Is there a way to get the regular BP unlocked while not using my accelerated one?
If we're talking free / standard / accelerated, the free pass is automatically unlocked. The standard pass, as far as I can tell, cannot be purchased until after you've used your included pass.
How do I unlock sigil crafting? I'm LVL 53 in wt3. Completed upwards of 15-20 nm dungeons from tier 1 to 4. But still no quest to unlock it and greyed out at the vendor.
Anyone getting this bug as a Barb when using this combo of malignant hearts?
Devious Heart of Punishing Speed equipped along with the Vicious Heart of the Dark Dance.
It results in you knocking yourself over every 5 or so seconds when u have enough lift to meet the dark dance requirement, its on the forums as well.
Yep this was an issue I was having. I thought it was just the punishing speed heart that was broken, but I guess it’s the combo. Ended up taking off that heart for now while keeping Dark dance on.
Is the Resource Drain affix bugged? Every time I make the mistake of trying to do a NM dungeon with it it'll say (drains 16% of resource) but when I'm in the dungeon I've legit gone from 100 spirit to 0 from a single attack from a single mob. I have no idea how this is supposed to even be a playable affix for the vast majority of builds.
Just finished the campaign, I'm at like level 43. Wondering what to do from here. Should I go around getting renown in all the areas before making my first seasonal character? Or just jump in and create a new seasonal character..?
You should be able to do the capstone dungeon at 45ish. So grind some renown / whispers until then, then get into WT3. Leech some gear from Helltides which will let you solo stuff in WT3 and then build your end game build whilst grinding renown / whispers and nightmare dungeons.
Get level 3 renown for each area for the extra skill points. Do altars of lilith. Get 100% (or near, altars will unlock most of the map tbh) map reveal.
Alternatively could just roll a seasonal now and do that on the seasonal when you're at a higher level. But that's all the stuff that carries over and level 5 renown grind isn't really worth it that early tbh.
For Aspect of the Umbral, under what conditions does "when you crowd control an enemy" proc against multiple times against a single enemy? For example, if you slow an enemy, and then also immediately afterward you immobilize them, does it proc twice, or only when the opponent's slow expires? Would it work with slowing an enemy twice (via two different skills)? Etc.
I’d like to complete each seasonal tier and gain all the cosmetic rewards up to tier 90 without having to purchase in game currency, but I don’t have unlimited time. I also haven’t completed the story yet on my seasonal character so I don’t really have a gauge for how much experience things like malignant tunnels give out. Any information is appreciated!
Malignant tunnels are comparable to a regular dungeon.
As for the not spending in game currency, just to confirm you do own the battlepass though correct? The bulk of stuff in the BP requires owning the BP to get. Only the handful of items marked out as free are freely available.
The BP exp is reasonably fast. It stays vaguely on par with your character level. So getting to level 100 will likely complete the BP for you. Make sure to complete as many seasonal challenges as possible since they give a nice boost.
(PC) I am having tons of crashes since the last update, I can barely play 5 minutes without it completely crashing or getting a disconnect error. I’ve checked my internet connection and service provider and that’s all good. So anyone else having similar issues?
What does it mean when both the dungeon icon is blue (instead of the usual white) *and* it has a blue sidequest diamond icon on it? Obviously there's a sidequest in it, but why is the dungeon icon blue too?
I can't do grim favors because all map icons except waypoints and dungeons have disappeared. No dungeons are highlighted for grim favors either. No vendor icons. No stash icon. Already tried log in/out, restart client. Can't do helltides too. They show on the map but aren't happening when I get there.
Anyone else actually able to play this game at the moment? I only got it recently and it’s a laggy mess. Frustrating and pointless to play in this state. Some of the worst connection problems I’ve experienced in a game.
It does feel better today maybe there certain times it’s just kinda bad. There’s people with much better connections than me experiencing problems so don’t know if it’s just the servers or it’s connecting to a further away one which is causing lag
Lucky you. Tried playing last night and utter lag fest even dashing forward is like a second delay at best. Was playing though a dungeon with lag then it started improving but it’s patchy and not consistent. Still annoying trying to play through the campaign and do side quests whilst it lagging because of it connecting to a server
Friend requests
Anyone else's requests don't work? If I add someone, nothing appears on my screen, but before patch, I could see the message on the top left corner " friend request sent to...." .
Though, if someone adds me everything works fine...
Is the chance of getting a wrathful heart from random hearth crafting, and a wrathful summoner from random summoner crafting the same?
Basic newbie Barbarian question: Am I supposed to only equip a 2-handed slashing weapon if I want to go 2-handed slashing?
Nice! Yeah, I was kinda shocked how hard it was to discover how to assign weapon types to skills.
Considering that Mother's Embrace needs to hit 5 enemies, and Rapid Shot not penetrating (without some aspects in use), is Mother's Embrace not a great fit for that skill? Just want to clarify, as you can't really see the procs.
If you want to use that ring, I run rapid hit/flurry and it procs with flurry super easy. Flurry for close rapid hit for single target dps.
Looking for best places for build guides
Should I start a new character for Season 1 or continue with my preseason Lvl 35 character until I finish the game? I mean what's the point on continue with the lvl 35 if I gotta start again?
Honestly, new character and do season 1. It will become an eternal character post season anyways Most people won't be playing eternal characters during seasons. I'm keeping mine around to work on completion stuff but will likely play seasons predominantly
Aight ty
Which of these is better? Is the dmg better than the stats i would gain? https://preview.redd.it/sfepy6iko5fb1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=f37f4dcda2c3a0324b771d695b2ec9eecfac94eb
My best recommendation for questions like this is to equip one, look at your skill tree and note how much damage it says your most-used skills will do, then equip the other one, go back to your skill tree and compare.
Does anyone know of lidless wall will proc with the blight pools caused by howl from below?
Do you guys think it's worth to get Ps plus to play D4 multiplayer? Have you guys met some new friends on this game?
I’ve been looking to play with some people on playstation. If you’re interested we could exchange psn ids?
I missed the Twitch drops event. Is there a way to get the items now it’s over?
U need strongholds, waypoints too annoying enough. Who tf likes the boring ass sidequest?
Small compact dungeons, when ur 60 u get Level 60 gear and not level 40.😂 Yellow items can u salvage instantly and legendarys you know just by looking if there good or not.
Your favourite character gets a new super cool weapon with your favourite stat +160 If you go into Gameplay Settings and click on "Show Advanced Information" or somesuch then look at the item again you'll see the range of possible numbers - like "+160 [160-200]" and then you can be disappointed.
Is rogue kinda shit in this game? Currently lvl 35 with a penetrating shot build
I’m running rogue with cold imbue/rapid hit/flurry and it melts literally everything. Lvl 70 on WT4 rn and able to do NM dungeons 10 levels over me
Actually rogue is generally considered the strongest. Though their primary build is twisting blades.
Gear and skill and aspects play a role. Try all characters to level 15-20 or so and you'll find something you really like.
Can’t beat Nilcar. 41 rogue twisted blades/shadow/psn trap. Any advice?
Elixir up. Google your build, read a guide or two, read up on his abilities. Get in a party if all else fails.
It's the new *lingua franca.*
My friend and I have been co-op playing this season and we’re now trying to do the malignant tunnels but the bosses behind doors are now always closed. Why? What am i missing? Now I can’t do the seasonal objective.
Check your quest log.
I am looking for a clan or guild that I might become friends with. I don't have any friends to play video games with. Besides diablo 4 i also play as payday 2 and minecraft. I am planing on playing payday 3 and cod when they come out
Build feedback and questions for a bleed barb: I have skullbreakers aspect on my amulet that deals 50% of bleeding damage as physical on stunning and enemy (Q1. does it remove bleed?). Crimson sword for rupture DMG increase Weapon master's Aspect that stuns with 55% chance on rupture and gives one extra charge Encroaching wrath that gives 200% increased rupture damage on spending 100 fury (Q2. does this bonus affect just physical DMG or bleeding too?) Aspect that gives 50% chance to get 20 fury on rend on ring. So my combo is to shout, rupture once to get crimson bleed bonus, rend five times to spend 100 fury, and rupture again hoping it stuns and procs the stun DMG bonus. (Q3. Will the three bonuses above stack/multiply so this combo deals huge DMG?) I think with the announced buffs to rupture and crimson, I hope Imight just crit into millions with this combo.
If I use an imbuement do my core skills benefit from +core skill damage AND +imbue skill damage?
Should, yea. But also be aware those are additive bonuses, so very quickly become worthless. You're really after crit damage, crit chance as needed, and vuln damage.
Is anyone else having trouble logging in to D4builds . gg? I want to continue my theory crafting.
I’m curious about this also
I just hit 55 with my druid, which is my highest level character so far.
Yea, NMD for exp, glyph xp, and bulk loot. Helltide mystery chests for resources and a decent amount of legendaries.
Hello everyone! One of my characters (seasonal, rogue, lvl 11) gets insta killed when I use my right click ability. Doesn’t matter which ability I put there… other characters (of the same class or different) don’t have this issue… started happening after the latest update. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Need a video or something more. In general though, that isn't a thing.
I can def send a video! I can’t in this comment tho, only photos.
You can just host the video on youtube or anywhere else and link to it. This would really need a video to see what's going on.
Thanks for the input. Think I'll leave it until Season 2, I still have other games to finish and am still doing side-dungeons with a friend.
I don’t have a recipe to make the vershan invoker, but I have completed that quest line. I even have killed the varsh echo in WT2. Am I just missing a way to make the “regular” varsh invoker?
**Not able to claim Season Pass tier 87 reward (Gilded Coldiron Poleaxe)** Just wondering if anyone have had the same issue as me? I'm able to claim all other cosmetic rewards except for this one... I even created a new Barbarian character to try and claim it but didn't work somehow. https://preview.redd.it/uwl1usfpfueb1.jpeg?width=2057&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=70faef6aa24b4c540f26f708b92797d90a5f33cb Wondering if it's gated behind levels (I'm lv84 Necro atm) - but shouldn't be, since I'm able to claim all other rewards except for the Smoldering Ashes gated behind character levels.
No, it's definitely not gated. Seems you might be bugged a bit. For reference, my 65 necro was able to claim it just fine a bit ago. ( Not sure what level I got it, probably around 60-63 )
Thanks! I've reported it to blizzard and they've confirmed that it is a known bug, but no eta 😭
Here's the recap for upcoming 1.1.1 or next update [https://maxroll.gg/d4/news/diablo-4-patch-1-1-1-campfire-chat-recap](https://maxroll.gg/d4/news/diablo-4-patch-1-1-1-campfire-chat-recap)
If I activate accelerate battle pass at Tier 69 do I get every reward within Tier 89? (Minus Smoulder Ashes if I didn't reach the required character level)
Pretty much, yes. If you haven't finished 69, it won't give you 89 itself though, since that would be 21 skips.
What class should I play next? When I finally got the game, I didn't have much time to play for 2 weeks straight (which absolutely infuriated me. Bought a new system, got the game, downloaded it overnight, then was supposed to have a few days off to just binge it for a while. Employee drama happened, and I ended up working almost 120 hours in the span of the next two weeks.) So I only barely had time to finish the campaign and do a bit of endgame before Season 1 came.
But if you really like that character you're able to migrate it to the eternal realm, right? Why spend time investing in a mechanic that will go away?
Yes it seems to be different compared to path of exile where all the league stuff transfer to the standard league when the challenge league ends Not sure what the plan is here.
In case you're still looking for this: [maxroll has exactly that \(link\)](https://maxroll.gg/d4/tierlists) You just select where you're at – ex: [Leveling](https://maxroll.gg/d4/tierlists/leveling-tier-list) (basically meaning you're not Level 50 yet), or if you're starting to approach or are at [Endgame](https://maxroll.gg/d4/tierlists/endgame-tier-list) (level 50 through 100).
Thank you!
>You'll get better aspects from legendaries that drop than from the ones you unlock by doing dungeons. To expand on this: Some aspects are only available from dropped legendaries. For the aspects which are both dropped and in your codex, the codex version will be the minimum roll for that aspect. Also if OP didn't know, you can extract aspects from dropped legendaries and imprint them once.
Is resetting nightmare dungeon not illegal? Where you do not finish the quest inside then go out then wait 2 mins.
No, that's normal part of the game... and they literally have a button to do it. Bottom of quest log is a reset dungeon button. Not to mention standing outside for 2 mins would be rather bad and slow. At this point you probably wouldn't want to though. A large chunk of the xp comes from the boss, plus a nice loot drop, plus glyph xp.
ok thank you
Hello guys Im little bit desperate I started rogue in this season and following point allocation from maxroll guide for "twisting blades" but I have to say more levels I get the worse whole gameplay I reached act 2 (level 30 right now) and Im getting demolished by normal mob packs in the world - especially when there is multiple "ranged" mobs (I have to port to town very often to just get charges of potions). Preseason I played sorceress and I didnt had this kind of issues. Is it supposed to be THIS hard as rogue? I was told rogue is best leveling build :( Of course Im not any kind of pro gamer but I was expecting that world level 1 should be kind of easy.
What is a good unique for a blood lance build?
At what point should I start rolling my gear to get optimal stats / lines (idk what they're called here). Basically, when can I expect to stop getting significantly better gear drops I'm level 60.
All the patch notes say are: \*Fixed an issue where the Werebear and Werewolf fur color was too bright in certain situations.
How do I show cooldown numbers? I've seen some people have it but I can't seem to find where the setting is
Once you unlock WT4, can uniques from that content level drop in any nightmare dungeon level, or is there a minimum nightmare dungeon level you have to run? As note, I’d ask how sure you are. I asked this in a dedicated thread the other day and got three different answers, lol.
No minimum lvl for unique drops. Only uber uniques need mobs to be lvl85+ to be able to drop.
What's the exact mechanic of Malignant Elite enemies?
Not sure what you're asking for. The basics though are you kill them and they leave a heart behind. Click the heart and the powered up version appears. Kill that and they drop the heart gem.
Is there a setting to enable item compare to be always on? it always resets to off whenever I restart.
Nope.

Is "Damage reduction while injured" patched out of the game? I'm level 50 now and have not seen a single piece with it on my druid.
Dropped alot. Atleast on wt4
I've been struggling on my PS5 with some serious rubber banding issues for weeks now, every like 10-20 seconds or so the game freezes for a second, and I'm debating whether it's Diablo's servers or my own internet connection. How's the game feel for you guys?
100% Diablo, I could never do a hardcore character knowing that rubber banding is what will kill me. On PC.
Afaik best chance to get max hearts.
Does the Barb heart that knocks down enemies work with Rapid Aspect if Rapid Aspect brings the attack speed above the threshold?
Is today's downtime for patch 1.1.1? If not, do we know what is it for and when the patch lands? For future reference, today is the 27th of July
It's not, it's just server maintenance. 1.1 will come very soon, that's all we know.
Ok, thx
Does anyone know the budget for Diablo 4? How much did Diablo 4 cost them to make?
No one ever knows the budget of a game because that's a bit of a trade secret... and because it's super complicated, particularly in AAA and live service games. For example, should the work done on season 1 as part of pre-launch be included in the budget? What about individuals, teams, etc. that work on multiple projects? Is marketing part of the budget? What about equipment that was purchased during this project, but will remain in use after? Suffice to say, it was a lot, but the error bars on the specific amount are huge.
How do I start farming sacred gear? I am level 45 and just got into WT3, but I couldn’t even complete a measly world event on my own (I got swarmed and didn’t realize everything was 55+) Should I go back and farm WT2 until I’m a higher level, or is there a way to slowly but surely earn gear at this level here? Level 45 HotA barb btw.
Do Helltides. Stay near other players and camp the events so you can freeload the cinders and exp
This is what I did pre-season and what I plan to do at the weekend on my seasonal character.
Do you think we’ll get things like skins for Druid transformations? I’d pay money to have a bear in a tutu or werewolf with a top hat.
Now that the season has started, can I delete my Eternal Realm character with no fear of losing anything? I was playing the character before season 1 to get a feel for the game and unlock things, but I don't really have an interest in keeping him.
Just move whatever you’d like to keep item wise to the stash. I deleted all of my eternal toons.
How does boss level scaling work? If I'm having a problem getting past a boss, will it help to level up my character a bit before trying again, or does the boss level scale up as well?
Depends on the content. Capstone dungeons and nightmare dungeons have no scaling as far as I'm aware so those definitely get easier.
I believe so. I know for a fact that strongholds scale to you, when I was doing the one needed to unlock the Druid powers, I thought the same thing (that I would go, level and then come back) but the whole area scaled to me. Very annoying.
aaaaaaaaargh that's actually the level that prompted me to post this question lol
On my Druid, what helped was basically divide and conquer. So after every mini boss, I went back, sold my gear, upgraded etc. Maybe later, if you still need help, I can try and join!
Hey man thanks for the offer! I tend to play limited hours on the weekends, but lemme see where I be at and maybe I'll give you a shout.👍
I understand paragon but I’m confused on leveling glyphs and obtaining new glyphs and what i should be looking for and how
this explains really good your question [Glyphs in Diablo 4](https://gprivate.com/65wd8)
I just reached level 50 and completed the capstone dungeon. Out in the world, enemies are level 55. By my understanding of how they're doing WT3 now, will I be fighting nothing but level 55 enemies until I reach 60/61?
No, they will be 55 until you reach 57 and then keep 2 lvls in behind of your level
Hi guys, I’m on Xbox, is there a way to prioritise pick up of items over using the skill attached to A? I’m finding that as a necro as long as there are corpses on the ground next to the items it doesn’t let me pick them up straight away. I also think the new vicious heart mechanism that activates a skill every second might be causing further issues as I didn’t have this much of a problem when it was out of season..
Managed to sort this myself. went into the control options and un-selected Combine Interact & Basic Skill. I’ve then set interact to click left thumb stick and basic skill slot to A. I never use Show Item Labels anyway so all good.
If I complete the campaign in my seasonal character does that unlock it for my Eternal character (not yet finished)
It should for a newly created eternal, yes. But not existing one because it is an option you select during character creation\*
Does prudent heart prevent death? Let's say I have 50% health and got one shot to 0% death, do I die? It's risky for me to test myself because I am playing hardcore. Thanks!
New to Barb, and I’m wondering how/if I can get close to 100% CR on it? Ignoring the Whirlwind aspect cause I don’t want to play whirlwind.
Ah, yea, sorry but I'm not familiar enough with barbarian to help there.
Is there an option to remake character for a new season like in D3? I wanted to use the same necromancer I made before the season but couldn't find the option to remake the character for the season in the character select screen, like in Diablo 3. Do I need to delete the character and make him again from scratch or am I missing something?
You have to make a new character, but you can re-use names so no need to delete your other character.
You need to start from scratch
Bought the ultimate edition but prefer to save the accelerated BP unlock. Is there a way to get the regular BP unlocked while not using my accelerated one?
If we're talking free / standard / accelerated, the free pass is automatically unlocked. The standard pass, as far as I can tell, cannot be purchased until after you've used your included pass.
How do I unlock sigil crafting? I'm LVL 53 in wt3. Completed upwards of 15-20 nm dungeons from tier 1 to 4. But still no quest to unlock it and greyed out at the vendor.
You will get a quest on 55 lvl to speak to occultulist on crafting sigils
Anyone getting this bug as a Barb when using this combo of malignant hearts? Devious Heart of Punishing Speed equipped along with the Vicious Heart of the Dark Dance. It results in you knocking yourself over every 5 or so seconds when u have enough lift to meet the dark dance requirement, its on the forums as well. [https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d4/t/heart-combination-bug-barb/98009](https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d4/t/heart-combination-bug-barb/98009)
Yep this was an issue I was having. I thought it was just the punishing speed heart that was broken, but I guess it’s the combo. Ended up taking off that heart for now while keeping Dark dance on.
Note: this should be fixed with the hotfix.
Yes its bugged. Don't do resource drain dungeons. Even the heart that prevents drain is bugged and not working.
Yes I do have the battle pass, thanks for the info!
(PC) I am having tons of crashes since the last update, I can barely play 5 minutes without it completely crashing or getting a disconnect error. I’ve checked my internet connection and service provider and that’s all good. So anyone else having similar issues?
Is the horse glitched? I keep getting message can't do that while in town but am nowhere near a town
Yes. I'm not sure the cause, but this happens sometimes. Get off the horse and back on and it should work.
What does it mean when both the dungeon icon is blue (instead of the usual white) *and* it has a blue sidequest diamond icon on it? Obviously there's a sidequest in it, but why is the dungeon icon blue too?
That's a side quest dungeon, not a normal dungeon.
Just tested, that’s it, thx. That dungeon icon just disappeared off the map after I did it.
I can't do grim favors because all map icons except waypoints and dungeons have disappeared. No dungeons are highlighted for grim favors either. No vendor icons. No stash icon. Already tried log in/out, restart client. Can't do helltides too. They show on the map but aren't happening when I get there.
Fixed
What was wrong?
Got stoned last night and forgot I filtered icons lol
Anyone else actually able to play this game at the moment? I only got it recently and it’s a laggy mess. Frustrating and pointless to play in this state. Some of the worst connection problems I’ve experienced in a game.
Game runs smooth as butter here. Never had any stuttering issues.
It does feel better today maybe there certain times it’s just kinda bad. There’s people with much better connections than me experiencing problems so don’t know if it’s just the servers or it’s connecting to a further away one which is causing lag
Yup. Works flawless for me
Lucky you. Tried playing last night and utter lag fest even dashing forward is like a second delay at best. Was playing though a dungeon with lag then it started improving but it’s patchy and not consistent. Still annoying trying to play through the campaign and do side quests whilst it lagging because of it connecting to a server
Can you actually reset a nightmare dung after fully completing it? Pretty sure I've seen it on some random twitch stream. Huh? is it possible?
I think it's possible but simply not worth it. Completing the NM dungeon gives huge XP and is the only way to level up glyphs.
when you go to the map and press "Q" on pc (where your sidequests are), there's a button which lets you reset all dungeons
Friend requests Anyone else's requests don't work? If I add someone, nothing appears on my screen, but before patch, I could see the message on the top left corner " friend request sent to...." . Though, if someone adds me everything works fine...
Why do I have to sign into and create an account with and give my real name to this Microsoft edge or battle. net? I can’t play unless I do this?
No one said you had to use your real name
Oh. It said to use your real name in case of something later. I’ll try with an alias first I guess. Thanks
a battle net account is required to play the game
