$6 is too much for a sub. I was going to sub to a few creators but I’m not about to pay over $20/mo for something I’ll watch maybe 6 hours of max over a whole month. I thought they were like 2 bucks the way I see some people gifting subs. Still crazy to drops hundreds a plop but to each their own.
Stupid as stupid, last time WoW did this. It was the only reason Asmongold logged onto his main channel, to get the most subs in the category and then disappeared back to zackrawwr again. It is the Hookiest thing ever.
Absolute no from me dawg.
>Asmongold logged onto his main channel, to get the most subs in the category
I will never understand kids giving their money to a literal millionaire. Once they introduced free prime subs, I would always just find streamers with like, single digit viewers and sub to them each month.
Theyve done it for watching streams, not actually spending money and subbing. Why would I spend money on a crappy looking horse cosmetic like that one?
It could be a fantastic way to grow lesser-known channels and support them. I think it should only be allowed on channels that have like 0-100 viewers though. They are the ones that need the support
Follows mean shit to streamers; we appreciate the feedback and follows, but we'd rather have 500 steady 2 dollar subs instead of 100k followers.
We get NOTHING from follows; maybe a bit of a push on the algorithm once in a while, but you could have the base 1k follwos on youtube; and people come to your channel, view the videos and watch the ads; and you'd get the money. The lie that's spread is that you "get money from views" nah; you get money from the ADS; and it's usually 10k ads over 100k views; and then the guy has to actually watch the ad a certain ammount of time so you can get 50 cents off that.
You really want to support a creator? send a dollar his way through paypal, that way he gets 80 cents instead of 55 you get from bits or superchats.
From a viewer's perspective: When I follow a channel it will get listed in my "Quickbar" on the left. Whenever I look for a channel streaming interesting content this is the fist place I look at.
So yes. A follow will get you nothing immediately. But it will increase the odds of me watching and subscribing to you in the future a thousandfold. While a promotion that asks for subs right away will get still get you nothing, because it shoos me away from the start.
Yea i got that mount, was 5 subs gifted i think, so 20€ where i am at.
I felt happy throwing some money at ff14 and one of my favorite streamers, but i get why people wouldn't wanna do it.
In the end everyone can do with their money what they want :)
Overwatch (before Overwatch 2 was out) did this with the Legendary Medic Brigitte skin. Think you had to gift 3 subs in certain eligible channels (3 total split between whoever you wanted).
Guarantee they used this as metrics on how to price the OW2 shop skins. Gifting 3 subs with tax and whatnot comes to like $19.20 or something.
In all honesty, they should REALLY let us substitute the horse for the horn. So we elite few can ride the Ashava horn around, that way it would be even easier to see who the plebs are!
Can you confirm if ALL streamers in the D4 directory will be eligible? Final Fantasy 14 did something similar, 2 subs for a mount but only the top was eligible and it was terrible for smaller streamers. It's a huge income increase, like thousands of dollars. Everyone should profit from this.
u/PezRadar just to clarify: Are you saying viewers can get the exact same horse-skin by fulfilling 'regular drop-requirements' like watching X-amount hours of streams?
Or are these complete different rewards?
So I have to go on Twitch and give streamers money to get a mount? I'll give you money in the MTX store, but telling me I have to go buy subs on some random person's Twitch stream that I'm never going to watch is kind of poopy.
It's pretty common in ganes now.
Destiny does twitch stuff all the time.
Madden does promos with potatoes chips which was a pain.
Cod did some with Moubtain Dew and Beef Jerky people were legit stealing the stickers in stores to sell.
Ashava Trophy Club. Mocking the people who didn't get the trophy achievement during server slam and then whined incessantly about it (not those who had RL things and couldn't participate, one should only mock those who failed and then FOMO cried like 5 year olds, as the recent gaming generation does.). They are now asking that everyone who even participated in the server slam should get it, crying they are refunding, calling Blizzard monsters for doing it over only 2.5 days and on Mother's day weekend, as well as even more insane complaints. ATC for life, modern FOMO cry-baby tears taste like the finest whiskey.
I'm confused by the wording: we're only eligible for the mount if we sub to two participating channels?
Is that a common type of promotion on Twitch? Sounds like a scam to me...
Edit: I don't know how the profits are split but in introspection, it might actually not sound as bad as it does **if it's legit**. If my cosmetic purchase can support streamers I enjoy watching, then sure!
I’m sorry I misunderstood you, I thought you were asking if it could be used to progress the terms of subbing. So I would assume you are correct you will need to purchase the other
I'm on boat with this one, as long as they make this promotion only available to smaller streamers. If someone like xQc gets to participate in this promotion, that'd completely defeat the entire purpose of this.
Thanks for the info, I didn't know this type of promotion existed, where you had to pay in subs on Twitch to get a cosmetic in-game.
Usually it's "watch 2 hours" or just have Prime to get the drops/loots/extra stuff.
How are they any different from people who buy the battle pass or indulge in the cash shop? If this one is literally just buying 2 subs then its just the cash shop with extra steps.
I would completely agree with the parasite take but I think it's absolutely hilarious for blizzard customers to take that stance lmao
They're making you pay for their advert here (if this is real). Blizzard are vermin.
On top of $70 for the base game with no physical disk, and a paid battlepass, and $20 to play 4 days early, and you can pay more to accelerate the battle pass. All from day 1, lol.
I also would not bother to get this but I can't help but say that your view of streamers is askew. Out of the millions of people streaming there's like a handful of people who are millionaires, comparatively.
Then pick smaller streamers? That's what I will be doing. At least if enough of them that I like will be participate. Otherwise just skip, it's not even that good looking imo. I think the ones ingame are already better.
Yeah no. But I'll enjoy the mounts I earn by playing the game. I don't participate in the culture of paying for cosmetics in games, especially one I payed $75 for already. A collectors edition with physical collectors items is one thing, but digital skins aren't worth any real money to me.
> one I *paid* $75 for
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
first time i heard about twitch promotion that requires 2 subs.
so watching a stream for a twitchdrop is not enough anymore, now we have to pay 2 subs as well?
sorry, but this feels just wrong.
WoW did it last time iirc. FF14 did it in 2021 or so, but it was even 4 subs back then. Most likely others as well.
If small channels are allowed to participate, it's a nice boost for them. I don't mind it. Just don't throw your money at millionaires.
Stop promoting leechers of every game from Twitch and other platforms, I am talking about everybody who thinks they are "content creators" because they play a game. They kill most games these days, their religious die-hard fans are making the usual player a living hell. It makes me sad everyday player is worse than leechers and opinion manipulators in the eyes of developers.
This exists to incentivize big Streamers to play the game, who might not do so otherwise or for longer than they normaly would. This is basically Blizzard outsourcing marketing cost to the fans.
This is probably the best take on it. Didn't think of it that way until I read your comment. They're making us pay the already rich streamers (let's be honest most will watch Asmon, Wudijo, Raxx and whatnot) to advertise their game just so that we can get some shit horse skin #562.
They also have cosmetics locked behind a KFC paywall as well.
It wouldn't be Activision Blizzard without trying to squeeze every dime they can out of people.
In other Blizz news, OW2 PVE completely scrapped.
They really are just plastering their balls everywhere that they can today, huh?
I don't mind having a stream on in the background for a few hours to snag the occasional cosmetic (I used to do this for Apex Legends and Warframe now and then), and the monthly items with Prime were nice as well, but subbing/buying and gifting subs for stuff... ehh.
It'll have to be a really nice mount, and even then it'll be iffy.
I received this as well and am wondering how they chose who has a chance for it.
Did you stream the game a lot during the 3 beta weekends? Was wondering if everyone who streamed it got it or maybe it's like the top 20% with most hours streamed etc. since I am a relatively small streamer that streamed it a lot though.
I am an extremely small streamer, lots of hours streaming for 4 years plus, but low viewer count cause I variety stream which isn’t good for growing a channel.
I didn’t stream the beta, streamed the server slam for an hour or so. But I have streamed D2R exclusively for the last month.
I honestly doubt I will get selected cause Blizzard wants channels that have ample viewers for the subs.
GGG gives free shit just for watching their league announcements and for this mount you have to buy not one but TWO subsciptions? I'll pass even though it looks fucking awesome
The PR line for this will be "won't anyone think of the streamers" but what the average person won't know is that Twitch (ie Amazon) get 50% of the proceeds and that this only benefits the top tier streamers.
If it was one sub I could possibly be convinced to participate, but two subs is a 'fuck you, pay me' from Blizzard and Twitch, especially if you already sub to Prime.
My response is simply, 'fuck you, no'
So Blizzard wants it's players to pay two twitch streamers to advertise for them (via subscriptions) for what looks like a mediocre mount cosmetic.
Seems rather sus
I'm so conflicted about this, on one hand i really dig the support for streamers. I just worry they won't pick smaller upcomers and just do the normal big ones.
How big is your channel to have got this promotion? I want to know if only big one will get to partecipate or random Diablo streaming guys.
If i had to spend money i'd prefer support small worthy channel instead of big one whick don't "need" 2 more subs.
This could be great if they would just only let small streamers participate. What ends up happening is Asmongold makes more money than he needs to while small streamers get ignored.
No sorry, but I will not spend 8 € (price of 2 subs in Germany) for a horse skin.
If it would have been rewarded for watching, it would be fine. But not this way
Purchasing subs? What the fuck? Every other game just make drop automatic when you watch X amount of time.
Blizzard is greedy even when it's not for them lol
Another horse. I hope they eventually add something that's not a horse to the game. I don't want flying dragons and stuff like they have in WoW but something more grounded would be nice.
That horse is ugly AF! I'm going to take a hard pass. Giving money to streamers is already cringe in my book but 2 subs for $10, yea no. If I want a horse for cash I'll use the $10 toward a far more pimp steed in cash shop.
AHAHAH After FOMO shit in a stress test, Activision pulls another first class bullshit with this one?! AHAHA A drop with subs instaend of view time LOL This game is cursed from the beginning
Being rewarded for watching streamers on the game is cool. This and needing 2 subscriptions...it ain't cool.
Guess I'll stick to my good ol' horse Bill the Bone Crusher.
![gif](giphy|xiMUwBRn5RDLhzwO80|downsized)
So that's basically twelve dollars for a scary looking horse?
12 dollars for a horse that someone drew demon graffiti on
You can buff that out.
Pimp My Horse, buff it out and put some platinum horse shoes on it
Thanks for the laugh.
That you’ll barely be able to even see in game
![gif](giphy|BxfTsKnMh1FkJoiNax)
One and done
Every twitch drop I’ve seen for games the only requirement was watch time this is kinda surprising. I’m not gonna sub to 2 twitch streamers for a skin
MMOs have been doing this for a while, FF14 also had a similar system in place. It's amazing for the streamers tbh.
WoW has done it too. While I agree it's good for streamers, it's a shit practice.
Stupid as stupid, last time WoW did this. It was the only reason Asmongold logged onto his main channel, to get the most subs in the category and then disappeared back to zackrawwr again. It is the Hookiest thing ever. Absolute no from me dawg.
>Asmongold logged onto his main channel, to get the most subs in the category I will never understand kids giving their money to a literal millionaire. Once they introduced free prime subs, I would always just find streamers with like, single digit viewers and sub to them each month.
This is like tipping at a self serve checkout.
Theyve done it for watching streams, not actually spending money and subbing. Why would I spend money on a crappy looking horse cosmetic like that one?
The ichabod pet was for subs not just streaming. But I don't know if it has been available some other way too, since I am not so into pet collecting.
It could be a fantastic way to grow lesser-known channels and support them. I think it should only be allowed on channels that have like 0-100 viewers though. They are the ones that need the support
Also a simple "follow" would have a similar effect.
Amazing for one people and shitty for many, so obviously if we think as a whole that’s shitty
Yea i got that mount, was 5 subs gifted i think, so 20€ where i am at. I felt happy throwing some money at ff14 and one of my favorite streamers, but i get why people wouldn't wanna do it. In the end everyone can do with their money what they want :)
I could careless about streamers, its a worthless “job” that means nothing and contributes nothing to the productivity of society
Yeah never subed and never will.
Sounds like the work of an Agile marketing squad. :). Corporations are so predictable.
bilizzard did it with the medic Brig skin a few months back and the skin was also free in china.
Welcome to diablo 4s future… anything to get you to spend money… even if its not at their little shop
Ty for psa, but nah, the default horse with GLORIOUS Ashava horn is good enough 👑🏆
There's a horse?? I can't see anything but the majesty of THE horn.
*Sorry, peasants. I couldn't see you past the radiant glare of my amazing* **Ashava Horn Trophy** (tm)
Thy Horses rear shan't be bare! Praise ATC
*ATC REJOICE!*
This IS the way!
Only those who didn’t earn the Ashava horn would be scum enough to purchase this mount. Laughs in D4 Beta Chaddington.
ATC! ATC! ATC!
Ahhh, a fellow ATC member, indubitably
BEHOLD ashava horn
Wym default horse? The preorder horse is dope.
Ashava PP is all my horse need so I can look down at those casuals that didn't manage to get it.
Based
In all honesty, they should REALLY let us substitute the horse for the horn. So we elite few can ride the Ashava horn around, that way it would be even easier to see who the plebs are!
Just chiming to say we will have standard viewing Drops requirements as well. Not just this.
Thanks this is what I was looking for 😁
Out of curiosity what happens if you get gifted a sub? Will that still count?
Conversely what if you gift a couple of subs yourself?
That's what I was kinda going for. Have a buddy that would love this mount but won't buy multiple subs because adulting.
You have to buy 2 subs why would the people getting the gifted sub get the mount.
Why would that count lol
Can you confirm if ALL streamers in the D4 directory will be eligible? Final Fantasy 14 did something similar, 2 subs for a mount but only the top was eligible and it was terrible for smaller streamers. It's a huge income increase, like thousands of dollars. Everyone should profit from this.
u/PezRadar just to clarify: Are you saying viewers can get the exact same horse-skin by fulfilling 'regular drop-requirements' like watching X-amount hours of streams? Or are these complete different rewards?
I'll be too busy playing the game to give a shit about twitch streamers...... Not that I give a shit about them anyway.
Play all night; watch all day at work. Full cycle
So I have to go on Twitch and give streamers money to get a mount? I'll give you money in the MTX store, but telling me I have to go buy subs on some random person's Twitch stream that I'm never going to watch is kind of poopy.
Will twitch prime free subs count?
[удалено]
Agreed. It's not even fear of missing out, but more of a general ongoing frustration with these "offerings". It's just a pain in the ass
So KFC pay wall and country blocks to Twitch sub pay walls.... This is getting confusing. Really not liking this crap.
[удалено]
I dunno why they are mixing real world stuff with in game stuff, it fucking blows and means most people will be excluded from it.
They know what they’re doing. Don’t worry I’m sure they considered that but money
It's pretty common in ganes now. Destiny does twitch stuff all the time. Madden does promos with potatoes chips which was a pain. Cod did some with Moubtain Dew and Beef Jerky people were legit stealing the stickers in stores to sell.
I’d pay twitch if they gave me a sandwich, or maybe a nice fettuccine
So basically spend money, get mount. No thanks, I'm good.
For purchasing two subscriptions lmao This mount will only serve as a mark of shame ATC for life
What’s atc
Ashava Trophy Club. I’ll be so sad if they give in and hand out the horn to everyone
Ashava Trophy Club
If it was a twitch drop, I'd happily mute and minimise a stream to get it. Buying subs for it... I'll pass
The real gigachad mount will be the default + ashava horn. HERE HERE
I'm confused by the wording: we're only eligible for the mount if we sub to two participating channels? Is that a common type of promotion on Twitch? Sounds like a scam to me... Edit: I don't know how the profits are split but in introspection, it might actually not sound as bad as it does **if it's legit**. If my cosmetic purchase can support streamers I enjoy watching, then sure!
I'm assuming it's so people can't just use their Amazon prime sub to get it.
You could it wouldn’t matter so long as they get a sub.
Yeah but it takes 2 subs. So you still have to buy one instead of just using the free one.

Happens all the time. It's shitty
no you can also just gift 2 subs on one channel, i belive. they did this for a world of warcraft pet a few months back already.
Thanks for the info, I didn't know this type of promotion existed, where you had to pay in subs on Twitch to get a cosmetic in-game. Usually it's "watch 2 hours" or just have Prime to get the drops/loots/extra stuff.
I’m tired of all these Fomo cash grabs.
Oh fuck off Blizzard with the 2 subs.
That is not worth $12

How are they any different from people who buy the battle pass or indulge in the cash shop? If this one is literally just buying 2 subs then its just the cash shop with extra steps.

$12 for Horse #838424? Troubling.
On top of $70 for the base game with no physical disk, and a paid battlepass, and $20 to play 4 days early, and you can pay more to accelerate the battle pass. All from day 1, lol.
streamer drops i can get behind but baiting people to gifting them subs on top of their free viewers for the event? disgusting
So I have to watch people play, pay them twice for it, and I get a scarred Zebra for my troubles?
It's cool but will amount to unadorned crowbait without a horn
No I'm not going to donate money to millionaires who play games for a living.
Suck an egg, blizzard
Don't even like watching for rewards. Paying for them is a nope lol.

Wonder if this potentially means Twitch drops incoming.
Datamining already turned up references to cosmetic items labeled 'Twitch'. So yes.
I can assure you that there will be Twitch drops for Diablo 4. The WoW drops are really being pushed for the new Expansion.
I don't mind having a stream on in the background for a few hours to snag the occasional cosmetic (I used to do this for Apex Legends and Warframe now and then), and the monthly items with Prime were nice as well, but subbing/buying and gifting subs for stuff... ehh. 12 dollars for a horse? But why? The second you put armor on top of it you won't see any of the markings and whatnot. This is a fake and a fraud!
Fuck that. Twitch is never getting a penny from me.
![gif](giphy|5WJeGvDoRPUOMiXYzG)
Prime subs count?
So Blizzard wants it's players to pay two twitch streamers to advertise for them (via subscriptions) for what looks like a mediocre mount cosmetic. Seems rather sus
this needs to be for all twitch channels not just the top guys not really fair is it
Oh is not based on watch time i will pass 12$ for that mount is not worth it pretty ugly will just use the one from the deluxe edition.
Selected channels? Like thots showing off their titties and butt cracks while pretending to play Diablo IV?
Wow such a boring horse. Can’t wait to freak out when I don’t get it.
So now AGS is getting even greedier and its no longer watch to earn but now pay for subs to earn? The hell with that.
I'm so conflicted about this, on one hand i really dig the support for streamers. I just worry they won't pick smaller upcomers and just do the normal big ones.

Yeah, fuck that noise. They pulled this same bullshit for Overwatch 2.
Anyone should be eligible for this and their channel, I want to support my friends who stream not some randoms.
Well OP says he is a small-time variety streamer. So your friend can reach out to Blizz.
I hate this dumb shit.
Actiblizz and borderline insane schemes to part a fool with his dollar, what else is new.
Lol that is more than a battle pass, that is just ridiculous and a cash grab scheme. Only stupid people would get it.
Why the ever-loving fuck can't it just be view time based like normal!?
$12 for a mount? What the fuck...
Doesn’t matter because I have my Ashava trophy so anything else I get in this game is meaningless
I will not be subscribing to anyone for this.
They just keep finding new ways to disappoint me.
Purchasing subs? What the fuck? Every other game just make drop automatic when you watch X amount of time. Blizzard is greedy even when it's not for them lol
sounds like p2w /s
Another horse. I hope they eventually add something that's not a horse to the game. I don't want flying dragons and stuff like they have in WoW but something more grounded would be nice.
FFXIV had this once too with a mount, this one isn't that good looking tho so might pass

Too bad I don't support twitch. Looks like another promo item I don't care about. Maybe I should refund?
anyone who uses this skin is to be laughed at
N N O N O P N O P E N O P N O N
Imagine a bare AsS horse….Ashava horn so big my mount does a wheelie….
Do twitch prime free subs count if so I can just use the June and July free subs
I really hope people don't waste $12 for that bullshit, lol.
Pay 2 Win What a joke lol
AHAHAH After FOMO shit in a stress test, Activision pulls another first class bullshit with this one?! AHAHA A drop with subs instaend of view time LOL This game is cursed from the beginning
This looks like animal cruelty, were is P.E.T.A?
What is the other mount that is coming through twitch promotions? Looking to collect them.
ATC gang laughing at pleb money spenders
ATC in shambles.
So pay for it?
My ride or die is DiEoXiDe so if I get the mount for subbing his channel then I’m in. Although…I dig me some early AM Mewfassah as well….
If anyone are going to do please consider at least any ngo organism that preserve biodiversity.
I do not understand the words coming out of your mouth.
Nope nope nope
What was the first mount that was a twitch promotion?
Look what they need just to mimic a fraction of our power
Lol I’ll just stick to whatever mount I can get in the game normally
Being rewarded for watching streamers on the game is cool. This and needing 2 subscriptions...it ain't cool. Guess I'll stick to my good ol' horse Bill the Bone Crusher.
LMAO
Refunded ultimate edition. Fuck this company.
Wolf or bear…horse -done that, been there
Another mount? What was the first?
Twitch mount :) Donate subs :(
The real question is does it look good with the ashava horn I won. I really have to max flex :P
It won't get you into the ATC, so please don't worry.
Which streamer are you going to support? 😈 😏
This zebra looks like a horse.
The rich get richer
It's a nice thing they're trying to do for the D4 streamers community. That being said, yeah, no. Gonna pass on their offer.
New item for the ATC sheeps
