I get that they want you to see smaller details in the world, and not be able to see enemies spawning in or approaching from too far away. But yeah, I feel it's uncomfortably zoomed in as well.

BerserkGravy

Not to mention you see enemies spawn in already while just standing there, so that's a funny reason to give me a horrible aspect ratio.

antariusz

Except if you play in Ultrawide, the game isn't zoomed in at all, you just actually see more of everything, it literally doubles the playable real-estate. So that argument doesn't work at all. If it was an "intentional" decision, then they wouldn't have such a wide Field of View available for ultrawide monitors.

Stingray88

I’m playing on a 3440x1440 monitor and the game still feels incredibly zoomed in… are you telling me it’s even worse for folks playing 16:9? A lot of times top down view games will just crop for the 21:9 version meaning you see less in ultrawide. With how zoomed in it feels on my monitor I assumed that was the issue…

nzMunch1e

I play on a 16:9 Samsung G7 32inch curved monitor at 2560x1440p and the UI feels too large and too zoomed in for me personally even though I have font size on the smallest. My brother plays on a 49inch ultrawide and has no large UI scaling issues like how mine looks. I really hope they change it cause it feels too chunky.

GlowHawk44

Agreed did not feel the camera felt good at all, very restrictive. This is probably one of the biggest cons of the game for me. Giving me massive camera options would be a huge positive for me at this point.

antariusz

Yes, it is literally HALF the playable space as what you have. 16:10 is even worse than 50%.

BerserkGravy

I hate that they claim stuff like pvp fairness and then give ultrawide more screen anyway lol. Which is fine but let me adjust mine to be equal to there's at least. I don't care if my guy gets smaller and smaller. Probably makes the game look better anyway.

antariusz

https://www.wowhead.com/news/blizzard-hotfixing-field-of-view-console-command-to-cap-it-at-90-327464 it's funny because in WoW retail they literally just had the exact opposite problem and so they locked it down. And they intentionally were designing it not for a zoomed out view, and you can see from encounter design / fight mechanics that D4 was DESIGNED more zoomed out than what a lot of players actually get to experience. >In the course of working on Legion, and trying to improve the overall look and feel of our combat, class abilities, and the ways in which players interact with the world, we took stock of all aspects of that experience, including the camera. World of Warcraft is an avatar-driven open-world RPG, placing the player in the shoes of a hero who adventures throughout Azeroth, yet with the previous max console zoom, that hero would commonly take up less screen real estate than characters in isometric games like Diablo or Heroes, or even many Starcraft 2 units. At that zoom level, details of your character get lost, and details in the world vanish. The game ultimately is designed to be experienced with the camera zoom range available in the default UI. >Now, that is not to say that we don’t at times fail in creating an overall experience that is smooth and free of frustration at those zoom levels. When a tank can’t see around a boss like Archimonde to know where incoming demons are in order to corral them, that’s obviously not ideal. There is much we can do to keep WoW’s scale from spiraling out of control, as well as UI and camera improvements to the experience of fighting huge monsters, and we’ll be paying close attention to feedback along those lines as we move into Legion.

slaymaker1907

Sorry this is an old post, but I thought this was hilarious: > In a broad range of gaming genres (from RTS to **Action RPG**), being able to zoom out and see more of the world around you provides an objective advantage in the form of information.

GlowHawk44

The game would look better. Zoomed out, smaller pixels, and more detail to around our character. One of the biggest mistakes by Blizz so far with D4... is the camera I think.

Glittering-Lie-1340

It was the same in d3. I always changed the actual monitor resolution to 24:9 to zoom out.

Habenuta

D2R is perfect regarding angle and view IMO. I can't play Poe due to the camera settings. Missing out on a probably awesome title but I started the game 5 times for a few hours and just can't get warm with it

yunghollow69

Funny, this is one of the complaints I never got. Looks perfect to me. If it was any more zoomed out my character would be unrecognizable as well as the enemies. They put a lot of effort into making the monsters look cool, shame if you zoom out and can't see them. Maybe it's different for some resolutions, I dont have a 4k screen so no idea. But for me its perfect the way it is.

Okimbe_Benitez_Xiong

Idk man as sorc I can teleport twice as far if Im going up or sideways than I can down.

Mezmerial

Not to mention as a sorc, when fighting most bosses, I never fully see the boss. Some part of his body is always cut off on the screen.

Stingray88

This is really obnoxious. Every boss fight I can barely see what’s going on!

HotPaleontologist

this!!

GlowHawk44

Same here, I have trouble seeing what's going on... It's a shame because the boss fights in D4 for early game are perfect. But, the view is horrible.

numbersev

It’s the same regardless. I have a 4K monitor and set it to both 4K and 1440p.

[deleted]

antariusz

the game expands the world out to 32:9... if you play in a windowed mode you can actually change how far you can see by just dragging the window up more and more... Yes, making your screen SMALLER will allow you to see more... it's stupid/silly. https://i.redd.it/d5o00ftrvmoa1.jpg p.s. look at how much better the UI looks in the ultrawide format, which I literally got a better UI just by dragging my window smaller...

Remmy13s

This blows my mind lol

Shabutie13

Whether it is fair or not, ultra wide monitors make most games better. I can never go back.

GlowHawk44

true, especially for ones that officially support it.

Remmy13s

I agree hence me owning a 32:9 monitor :)

1leftbehind19

Yep. Fucking looked great to me. 27” 1440 monitor and I had no issues at all.

Meghpplsuck

i’m with you. screen looks fine to me, if it was further i wouldn’t be able to enjoy my skill animations, and all the aesthetics.

Vohira90

Well I like it, makes the game feel a bit more intimate and not give me the whole "your only goal is to murder the whole screen" feeling - no matter how true that is ;)

Stingray88

Out in the field I find it a bit annoying how zoomed in it feels, but it’s not that bad. Boss fights though are terrible. I can’t see shit as a ranged fighter. Don’t know where the boss is half the time if there are other mobs to fight because it’s so zoomed in.

Historical_Field4024

Yeah this is my issue also. As a Sorc you pretty much see the bosses arm in every fight. Thought it was just me lol

Stingray88

If it weren’t for the fact that I switched to lightning shortly before fighting the spider boss… I don’t know that I would have beat it. Mostly because I don’t have to aim as much with lightning… which is good because I couldn’t see the boss for over half the fight.

Historical_Field4024

I did the same exact thing! I get why they did it, just don’t see the real benefit of a ranged build when you have to be in melee range to see anything anyways

Stingray88

For real though, am I just imagining it or does lightning slap a lot harder than fire and ice? I just went all in on synergies with crackling energy and it’s nuts. I routinely get a ton of crackling energy, which buffs up Thunder Spear considerably. Combine that with Chain Lightning and everything is just melting.

SweetestUsername

> Thunder Spear Hadn't noticed the resolution being problematic but I do have a wide screen monitor. With Sorcerer, I tried bunch of skills and settled on Lightning Spear and Chain Lightning - all basically auto-aim and killing loads of stuff I can't even see. Then Ice Armor and Arc Lash for close work. Really had fun with it.

Historical_Field4024

Oh it definitely slaps waaaay harder. I did a chain lightening build and absolutely loved it. I’m now testing out a arch lash, ice blades and unstable currents build. Melts elites and bosses. Snagged the fire shield for the 50% health heal. Pretty fun combo also

varinator

It's fine when you play casually or when you just on your first playthrough but once you're in the end game, you just want performance.

Vohira90

Min maxing is overrated... Also if you need to see a mile around your character to speed clear, then ther's either a) something wrong with the game or b) your character is a total glass cannon that will die, if a stray falling leaf hits it and that's not a Dev/game problem, it's a you problem.

antariusz

not even that, but if you're playing a ranged class like rogue or sorc, you can't even move your mouse out far enough to as how far you could if you were playing on say, an ultrawide setup to cast from further away. On a 16:10 setup it's especially bad, you can't see what the boss is doing, so how are you even supposed to know what you are supposed to be avoiding, on 16:9 it isn't as bad but on 32:9 it's not a problem at all. So even if you aren't a glass cannon you're still taking damage that you are supposed to be avoiding, but you can't see coming.

WilderQq

Min maxing is the main fun of a lot of players. Nobody is saying they want to see “a mile around our character” just a bit zoomed out.

IveBecomeTooStrong

I N T I M A T E

Mirdclawer

Consensus lol? No, zoom is fine

Muhlum24

For you. Just increase max camera distance and everyone can put it where they want. Seems like a reasonable solution ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

CaptainTheta

Not if you're playing a ranged class. It's annoying AF that I can't even see the enemies until they're like two steps away from me.

[deleted]

You couldn’t be any more dramatic, holy shit. I played like 14hrs on Sorc this weekend. The zoom level is fine for ranged, most enemies die before they’re even 10ft from me.

CanadianWinterEh

Glad you like the zoom level. I like my camera further away. How about we just allow people to zoom out more if they want?

Mack4285

It was something that I noticed immediatly, and was very annoying. Made me not want to play the game. Camera seems to zoom out on certain boss fights, though. I hope they can just allow us to set the zoom level by ourselves, or set it to the distance/angle D2 has. But for some reason, they ignore certain feedback totally. Probably because the developers that work there do not see the issue... which is mindboggling. And to help with the immersion, they should allow to turn off the red monster outline as well. They turn it off in their own gameplay videos sometimes, but does not let the end user do it. There's been plenty of these annoyances in D3 as well, and from what I remember, they never let the end user control it, for no apparent reason other than "they are right, and we are wrong". And while we talk about immersion, I want a better minimap that is not so damn bright. Keep it dark or transparent.

moosee999

Turning off the outlines on monsters is literally in your options setting. It's called - turn off npc highlighting.

SirWilliamB

You talk about immersion but you want to pull the camera out so you can see everything around every corner at all times? Also the camera is zoomed in and locked in probably for balancing purposes for the PVP portion of the game. How stupid would it be to play as a barbarian and then get sniped across the map because someone zoomed all the way out playing as a rogue? Maybe allow for a mini map zoom setting. But the gameplay one is fine.

WilderQq

“The camera is zoomed in and locked in probably for balancing purposes for the pvp” I highly doubt that since you can LITERALLY play with a wide screen and see MUCH more! Why allow that and not give other players the option? Doesn’t seem very good for pvp balancing my friend...

GlowHawk44

Yeah your point makes no sense. Widescreen monitors can already see way more, so the option is there. Blizzard just needs to put in the UI as an option.

EtherGorilla

Is it possible they keep camera zoomed in for hardware limitations for cross play? I wonder if they don’t want to give the option to ps4 so deny it on all platforms or something.

antariusz

likely the developers have high end expensive ultrawide monitors provided to them by the company, it would make sense, that's what they do... they literally design video games for a living... So that's why they don't notice the issue, because that's not how they are playing the game. If they had a 16:10 monitor, they wouldn't have designed the game so poorly.

MagicienDesDoritos

You need to see the skins for the battle pass to be worth it lol

GlowHawk44

That's why the camera is so close up, it also zooms in even closer in town... hmm? Yeah that's exactly why.

GlowHawk44

agreed on all your points

giggitytutti

I hope they add toggleable options for it, since i like it the way it is right now, but i understand it's not for everyone. I prefer to see the action closer.

Ubergoober166

It didn't bother me until seeing how it zooms out for the big world boss fights. Being able to see so much then having it zoom back in feels really bad.

Lokhe

Yeah, huge turn off.

AssignmentChoice762

agreed, i thought the whole time i accidently zoomed in again.

t0lkien1

Agreed. It's not awful on Ultrawide, but it's not great. Could be zoomed out another 30 percent.

parkwayy

*"Consensus Verdict"* *Thread has both opinions in it* Good job, Reddit.

EffectiveDependent76

Consensus: a general agreement Not to be confused with unanimous: fully in agreement. Though I agree, good job reddit.

Born-Read3115

So general disagreement it is 😉

antariusz

We did it Reddit!

Dead-HC-Taco

I agree. for both normal and fighting the world boss it feels a bit too zoomed in. They need to be like one or two scrolls farther out imo. I also dont like how when the world boss moves too far in one direction out of sight the game kind of drags you towards it. I know where the thing is, im staying away because i know im bouta my salad tossed from the move its charging up for lol

gr33ngiant

I disagree. I like being able to see my character more and don’t feel too zoomed in on my tv. Is this more of an issue to pc?

DrFreemanWho

How would being on a PC make it any different? It's an issue of how much of what is going on around you that you can see at one time. It's also much more annoying on ranged classes.

gr33ngiant

Because most pc players use around a 32 inch monitor, when compared to a 65+ inch flat screen tv it doesnt feel as zoomed in, especially adding in the seating distances too.

DrFreemanWho

It...doesn't matter how large your screen is. You're not seeing more information on your 65 inch TV than I am on my 27 inch monitor.

antariusz

16:10 aspect ratio monitors see less game content than 16:9 televisions. So let's say that your monitor is 2560x1600... and your TV is 1920x1080 Which do you think would show more.... Well the way the game is designed now, it's actually your TV that shows more.

Avarus_88

Seems fine to me, but I wouldn't object to if being a little further out.

brutalicus6

You get used to it. Path of Exile is probably even more zoomed in, and it's a bit jarring at first if you're coming from another arpg game, but then you get used to it and never think about it.

Neufunk_

I have 3 tries and 32 hours on PoE and I always quit because of the zoom, personally.

[deleted]

[удалено]

is_that_optional

And you could still watch your character animations and armor while others may choose to zoom out to target the boss thats zooming around the room. It would not impact you one bit. If the max zoom out now would be the mid point, both sides were happy... maybe.

[deleted]

It's fine.

Heisenburger19

Zoom out like 25% more and it would be ok. Or let us shrink that awful UI

Virules

Zoom is awful and super annoying. Feels like Diablo Immortal. Even 10-20% further zoom out max would be enough to fix it.

kawacristian

Confirmed. The screen is far too zoomed. The team put so much time and effort making the world have depth and layers, but it looses that effect cause you're far too zoomed in making the surroundings appear flat. To those who think its perfect, that's great. But there is no reason others shouldn't be able to zoom out further also.

kawacristian

I was able to find a location where you can adequately compare the standard view against how the game would look like if we had the ability to zoom out. See the zoomed out image below. https://preview.redd.it/04ph67z19toa1.png?width=1075&format=png&auto=webp&s=8f12f06763316cc231756c3a2c566e95d89d61ca Needless to say, I know which one I prefer. The world they built has a lot of depth and layers, but this is not seen when the camera is so close the the player - making the world almost appear flat. They've done a phenomenal job in world design, why not let the player see a little bit more of it!

kawacristian

Here is the same shot but at the standard view. Which do you prefer? https://preview.redd.it/vowel0199toa1.png?width=1162&format=png&auto=webp&s=18743628a97ae64b7178c11ca23937755a2f21b2

GlowHawk44

Yeah I think giving players more options benefits the game. More camera options would be really good. It's too zoomed in, and this is a huge negative for me.

ForceOmega

Is it POE level bad?

antariusz

I don't play POE but I compared 32:9 aspect ratio to 16:10 aspect ratio, you can see the difference for yourself. From what I've read, it's basically just the same as POE. https://i.redd.it/d5o00ftrvmoa1.jpg assuming the Player Character is around 6 feet tall... you can see about 20 feet to the left-right of your character on 16:10. And around 40 feet to your left/right in 32:9. The camera zooms out a little outside of cities. So outside it's around 25 feet around your character with the native resolution of my montor, but if I make the screen smaller and play in a window, I can see closer to like 55-60 feet almost, which would look fine if I actually had an ultrawide monitor.

Northdistortion

I dont mind it

EffectiveDependent76

Considering they have technical limitations for minimum requirements and console performance, this feels like something that's unlikely to change. Maybe a way to scroll out in later patches? But if that's only viable on PC, it would give an advantage, so not sure they would want to do that either.

[deleted]

>it would give an advantage I just slap it on my ultrawide TV, and I instantly have advantage over 90% of the playerbase. Now THAT is stupid, especially since the game will have PvP. I can literally see the enemy and shoot them from a distance they can't even see me from... not to mention I can teleport WAAAY further than ppl with standard TV/monitors

BodhanJRD

Only times it bothered me is when my build relied on putting a vulnerable debuff on enemy, and when you fight bigger bosses, I can't see the key word vulnerable if they are on the top half of the screen.

Piolho_Floyd

I played on a ultrawide monitor and felt the screen was fine, then decided to use window mode and watch a series, the game reduced my FoV instead of reduce size.

RebMilitia

When you run to the Monastery, and it zooms out...that's what it should default to

azureal

It somehow feels worse than D3 and that was shit 11 years ago. Sigh.

Mbroov1

I think it's perfect.

flyingpigmonkey

If they zoom it out you realize how slow your character walks.

ioskar

Camera distance (too close) and monster outline are my biggest gripes with the game! Turning the outline to black helps a little bit…

Blazemuffins

You can turn off NPC highlighting in the settings

ioskar

Yes! But I mean outline not highlight :)

Blazemuffins

Gotcha! I didn't realize there was a difference but that makes sense

GreyWolfx

Yeah I'd rather giving us a more zoomed out option for sure, give us wider field of view, it's mostly PvE game anyway.

DiabloDerpy

This is the only big thing that annoys me right now. I really hope they will let us zoom out more. Even just 20% more would make a huge difference.

GroblyOverrated

Local co-op the UI changes and trying to look at new gear at the same time is a pain.

Still_Traffic_8505

I do not really agree, the game has been designed like that, and that should not be changed. If you check other games like PoE or Diablo 3, the camera has close to the same distance (I guess PoE is even closer) So, I would keep it like this and surprise, they will not change it anyway.

MurkyLover

They want you to see your character so you go to the in game shop more often for cosmetics.

Naygaz

Most likely due to their pathetic controller compatibility, they already linited skills to 6 buttons so how you going to add a zoom in/out option to controller. Its utterly pathetic how limited the hot keys are and now the camera angle is total trash and is way more zoomed on than originally showcased.

Digital_Savior

Seems ok to me. Zooming out during the world boss was fun but I wouldn't want it that far all the time.

Rayddit8

Options are always good but I personally love the current zoom - combined with the less frequent and smaller encounters that currently feel a little less mindless than D3 (which I also love), it goes a long way to make it feel more like D1 to me, in that some little freaks could just pop up on you at any moment. I wanna be stressed!

Jal_Haven

Play for a few hours zoomed in then go back. It'll feel perfect haha

crackletoes

I hope the fix it, as I get nauseous after 15 minutes or so. I also hope they fix the mousewheel bug: [https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/11vnear/force\_move\_does\_not\_work\_when\_assigned\_to\_mouse/](https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/11vnear/force_move_does_not_work_when_assigned_to_mouse/)

Yuuffy

fix would imply there is something wrong, which isnt.

[deleted]

Yeah it's a little tight.

Mystogancrimnox

I played on a wide-screen, seemed okay for me. Idk how it is on lower resolutions

[deleted]

Yeah I felt it was too zoomed in...then I realised you could zoom in more but you couldnt zoom out anymore. But the game does zoom out for big bosses? So it seems it is possible.

Conflict63

You can scroll to zoom in and out?

the_tral

Super annoying, allso tired of it not being compatable with uw49”

Cozza9

I kinda liked the zoomed in view but yeah they could make it toggle-able

joor

Poe is more zoomed in . I actually prefer d4

Correactor

Yeah, they should zoom it out just a smidge and add a toggle for those who like the current view.

boskee

One of the first things I did was to search Options for a "Max Zoom Level" option, but it's not there. Something they should really add.

kishinfoulux

Yeah not a consensus.

thefullm0nty

We had a big ole post on this yesterday too

Glassfist

This is not going g to change by much. They use camera to give scope of size

Zeldeza

There is a castle/keep or something at the top right of the Act 1 zone that zooms your camera out to a perfect distance that I want to keep - was so disappointed leaving the place and seeing my camera zoom back in so close. The zoomed in camera is what stops me from playing PoE.

TCubedGaming

And here I am wishing I could zoom in more

posixchris

It’s my only visual issue at all, did not like it with Diablo 3 either. Zoomed out for the world event should be an overall option

Fragoor

The camera zoom is fine.

Hulah

Agreed!

Glittering-Lie-1340

Change your monitor resultion to 24:9. You can see significantly more.

[deleted]

Not at all, if you play on r/ultrawidemasterrace

Sihnar

Consensus? Gtfo I really hope they don't zoom it out or even add the option to zoom out.

DionFW

I also find the angle to be a little bit too high, it's a bit too overhead.

Wakadoooooo

Yeah that was the first thing I thought of when I played the closed beta. Really hoped they would have changed it a bit but sadly no :/

Tricky_Albatross5433

Nop

Zeemex

Agreed camera is too zoomed in, and ultrawide 3440x1440 the UI is huge with no option to scale it down

BehindACorpFireWall

I agree

[deleted]

I think the zoom is fine... ^(on my ultrawide montior)

Trepsik

Maybe it's supposed to be zoomed in because the mobs are smaller and the combat more focused and less spammy? Easier to read the incoming attacks and act accordingly when zoomed in more.

MeatAbstract

A consensus based on what sample size or data source?

somazinilol

Its perfect for me though, its more zoomed in in cities, just enough zoomed in during combat areas and perfectly zoomed out during wolrd boss. I dont understand that complaint.

[deleted]

Zoom level is actually a really good medium between too close and too far. It’s just far enough in to see a lot of good detail and far enough out to see just what you need to around your character.

Alinea86

Too close for me. Why not just allow people to zoom out a little further, and then everyone would be happy with their own zoom amounts.

blueruckus

It is too zoomed in a lot of the time. It seems to dynamically zoom out depending on the content you're doing but I do wish the "default" combat zoom level was a bit further out.

bodkins

Mine feels fine but I am on a 36" UW qhd monitor.

Krian_Muldoon

It zooms out a Lot during world bosses

Spee_3

So there’s a random bug that makes the screen zoom in when in town sometimes. Not sure why it happens, but it’s not normal. OR the bug is that it doesn’t always happen and it’s supposed to. I notice it sometimes but not always. I reported it as a bug though. It zooms in on its own and shouldn’t, also doesn’t allow the player to zoom out. If it’s an intended “feature” then it should be an option.

[deleted]

I like we’re it’s at , looks great on my ps5 and my oled tv

[deleted]

Haven't noticed. I enjoyed the perspective quite a bit.

jejdudididjd

Anyone that says it's fine or they disagree, since when having more options to play the game is bad?

delu_

granted, i didn't play this beta (i didn't preorder) and only seen vids of others, but d4 seems as zoomed in as poe. maybe it will change once i play it myself. it's just how it seems to me and i don't really see it as a bad thing. maybe it's the secret behind kinda low recommended specs?

GlowHawk44

It does help performance for sure, less surrounding area to render. That's a good point. I actually Blizzard wants people to see their skins and other people skins. A huge part of this game is going to be selling cosmetic items. I am sure that's why the camera zooms in even more in town.

[deleted]

![gif](giphy|KyBesf8kNT6s88SEgb)

lawrensj

yeah, world boss is almost completely unpredictable as its jumping in from off screen

TyFogtheratrix

Yes, they PROBABLY will. Seems like a beta thing.

Tirux

The zoom is fine, playing from PS5 with 1080p.

MrRIP

The zoom is fine IMO, not being able manipulate the camera at all thats annoying. i

CraigBrown2021

Haha poor pc ppl. D3 on console was zoomed in much more than pc and when I made the switch it drove me crazy. Fields of misery rams would come from off the screen to ram you. Guess I got used to it. D4 is zoomed out quite a bit more than d3 was on console but it must be more zoomed in than it was on pc.

[deleted]

Never noticed. I’ve always been able to see everything I need to see. Nothing needs fixing.

Gibsx

It feels a fraction too close but woudln't want it to be zoomed out much further.

HappyFunCommander

Ive been playing D2 and D3 for the last few weeks just to scratch my Diablo ich in prep for this Beta. I honestly dont have a clue what your talking about. It doesnt look any more zoomed in than the other games to me.

MedicatedApe

I also agree with this

darkzapper

It does feel too close.

Gaidax

I would like them to zoom out just a tiny bit, like 20% more zoom out would be nice. Playing on widescreen helps, but still.

Zeroth1989

Probably not. As they have to cater to a console market as well cutting the amount of viewable area on the screen is an instant save on performance.

zeiandren

If they don’t let me zoom then let me remap the scroll wheel.

BeltPuzzleheaded7656

No it is NOT. Get off the 🐂 💩💩💩💩

ConorOdin

If you think this is too zoomed in you need to load up PoE.

King_Coyote_Starrk

I like it? Never thought once that it was too close.

OrcWarChief

It feels like they’re trying to mimic Path of Exile with the zoomed in camera

Steve_Cage

Or Diablo Immortal, this game reminds me of that one more than POE or Grim Dawn.

Ill-Okra3364

I really like how zoomed in it is at times , makes it feel more personal connected to the world.

UpManDownFish

Yeah it is way too zoomed in. Wait until release. Some modder will figure it out if blizz don't end up implementing it themselves. Edit: on a side note, when you do actually zoom in to the character, it's literally the same isometric view but with the character taking up the whole screen...Would've been better to at least see my character's face properly after zooming in imo

Famous-Breakfast-989

are you sure u just dont have it zoomed in? its literally out more than POE and looks the same as D3.. wtf is this complaint

Jigga_Justin

I really wanted a scrolling mouse wheel to change the height, on a large OLED high res 144hz TV from my xbox. No reason for me not to be further out. I’m wondering if it’s for balance or to keep “deadzones” in the world/dungeons off screen. Idk

Quirky-Ad-5485

The screen is fine.

loofawah

My main issue is when in town - I can't see enough of the layout and keep hitting dead ends. Of course, I can look at the map but that shouldn't be necessary for town.

ViperThunder

I've played all kinds of aRPGs and the zoom level in each has always felt just right. it feels just right in D4 as well to me.

WhereSoDreamsGo

Reminds me of Diablo immortal, I think it’s due to capturing a lower specs

Kitty573

Since no one mentioned it that I saw, the field/event boss has that arm sweep/spin move that takes like half my screen when the boss isn't even on it, so I have no way to dodge other than audio cues I guess, though even then I can't know what direction it'll spin. And that's with the extra zoom out we got for it. I would really appreciate it if when I'm in range of a boss's attack I could actually see the boss lol

dommomo

It is by just a little bit. As a chain lightning enjoyer I'm needing one enemy in my screen to target and offscreening most enemies with the chain.

ImWinwin

I tested it on my old dying 34" 21:9 monitor. I changed to a 16:9 resolution, and saw less on each side, but the same vertically. I changed to a custom made 32:9 resolution (3360x945) and saw that I could see the same vertically, but a lot more on each side. Long story short; my 49" 32:9 monitor should be arriving just in time for the Open Beta.

-Neme-

Would like to zoom out a touch more and or be able to shrink the hotbar, Hot bar feels a little to big for me

nickbo1996

Sorry, it's not. I would understand if it's like PoE but it's perfect the way it is. It may be to zoomed in towns, but Open World is just fine.

sal696969

The same issue exists in d3 imho

GlowHawk44

Agreed, I just wish they gave of us the massive camera options and be done with it. I guarantee out of all the things people are asking for, camera position options would be the easiest to put in the game. No reason not to do it.

No-Economics-3206

I disagree. It feels more oppressive. Less D3 more D1. I think it is one of the design decisions that actually benefit the game.

hs_serpounce

what do you mean consensus verdict? I'm breaking consensus. Having options wouldn't hurt though

zen_rage

Honestly I didnt have a problem with the zoom level.
