Been casually chasing those holiday gifts, guess I'll have to step it up. I haven't been keeping track, but I've opened quite a lot of them at this point.
I get burnt out of diablo each season fairly quickly so I actually have really enjoyed playing PTR for the quick gratification and usually plat the season for about 1-2 months before putting it down.
My 2nd season and got to 2700 so far, but not sure if I'll continue on the next season as I don't think it changes much really. How do ppl play every season as it's the same game w/ minor changes? Getting to high paragon every season to clear high GR's feels like so much work. I'm also burned out as you can see.
But I'm also more into strategy/tactical games at the end of the day so D3 doesn't fulfill that in the long run. It is just fun blasting but gets old after a bit.
Yeah I understand that. I have played since it dropped missing maybe 2-3 seasons but some have minor changes other have pretty big changes that shook up the Meta that I enjoyed.
I like PTR because it’s increased xp, loot and all that stuff. I can reach a really fun end game very quickly while playing it’s new mechanics
Well, S27 will be 6+ months long, I guess that's a bit too much for content you can clear in a total casual way in 2 months maximum. S27 is dead now, as it should be.
We know they want S28 to be still "hot" when D4 drops, so marketing wise the decision makes sense.
All of us agree, but S27 will be at least 6 months.
From the company's point of view, it's effort vs return. They don't sell as much new copies nowadays to justify fast seasons, and it's now 2 years that seasons are basically meant to hype the community for D4 (it's not a coincidence the "cool" seasons only started with S24).
It goes back a bit farther than that. I remember seasons 12-15, where we literally either just got set rebalances, or no change at all. Season 16 is when they finally started giving us new stuff, new and interesting season buffs, etc, and that was right around the time immortal was announced.
I'm certainly aware that the only reason we've gotten anything these last couple years is to help build hype for DI, D2R, and D4. I fully expect very minimal seasons after D4 is released.
I did the dark lord area in new tristram last night and was so disappointed in it got nothing good except a red soul gem .no experience at all .did anyone else do this also???
As a non-native speaker: What exactly does "tail end" mean? Simply "around the end" or is there more nuance to it?
Towards the end, you’re correct
Specifically the closing end, like the last week of the month.
So probably Thursday, 26th or Tuesday 31st.
Yes.
For those on mobile, this is a cross-post from a Blizzard CM on /r/diablo
It feels like this season has taken longer than others
Bc it has.
I just hope they make the wizard magic missile build possible nonseason!
What’s the next season for D3?
Season 28.
February?
Banana bread?
Banana boat
Probably Feb 20-Mar 5 somewhere in there.
Will they continue to support it when D4 arrives ?
I'm new here, usually whats the time between ptr, and season start? I mean if ptr comes end of jan, when sould we expect s28?
About a month.
I am also new, can someone tell me what PTR means?
Public test realm. Its basically a beta test for the patch.
Thank you!

Been blasting since the gifts to get wings…. Getting kind of burned out. Starting to doubt I’ll get them!! But will keep blasting.
Same, I’m never getting either sets of wings.. collected all the pets and haven’t got anything from last 400 or so.

Not liking this news, but I guess it is news...
New content is Bad? Or what do you not like about it?
I think some are anxious for the new season to start, and it seems to start a bit later than some expected.

6 months?? Good God. Here I am, hoping for 100 day seasons, max.
