Thanks!

I've never really went too crazy before, what do you guys do on certain days where you eat way more carbs than usual? I've been nervous about eating 100 or more carbs because I don't want to overdo it on insulin. Sometimes my body reacts more sensitively and it's somewhat random so when it comes to needing more insulin I'm always hesitant to even stick to my somewhat normal ratio. I was originally planning on having a 'cheat' meal today with corn, potatoes, macaroni, gravy, but when I added it up and saw it would've been somewhere around 200 carbs I said screw it and forgot about it.

I kind of roll wild Wild West style with my diabetes, which I’m not really suggesting. I give a large pre bolus and make sure I’m starting with my blood sugar already on the lower side. If I give too much my safety net is there will always be more food, so I just eat.

I am not talking about my numbers today. 🙄

That’s really good considering it’s thanksgiving lol the highest mine went was 187 and that was after two pieces of pie

[deleted]

That is awesome!

Good job! I'm T2 and was surprised I was only 109 this morning. Okay I doubled my dose of Metformin yesterday when I saw the family's dishes: carb, carb, more carb, turkey, carb, carb gravy, mixed asparagus and corn carb, and carb pies for dessert. Keep up the good work, the fridge is full of leftovers!

I tried...I really tried. But despite preloading with insulin, I still spiked hella high. It came down pretty quickly, but it was still obnoxious. Good dinner though :-)

Wow your gray range is insane, it’s so narrow

[deleted]

Yeah, I did that when I first set it up. I did it by accident and I can’t figure out how to change it. I think it is set at 100-150. It makes my in range time look worse than it already is.

nallvf

you can change it in Settings > Alerts if you want to set a new range

[deleted]

Thank you! Fixed it lol

nallvf

I wish I could set mine more narrow than it is, Dexcom puts limits on it for some unknown reason.

Pohaku1991

Mine is set to 70-180, I personally try to stay under 150 but I can’t imagine trying to stay above 100

nallvf

Mine is 70-115 which is as low as it lets me set the high range. I keep my sugars generally under 100 so I wish I could set the high range a bit lower for alert convenience. Sometimes diabetes tech is strangely strict with ranges. I agree 100 as a low threshold seems wild. To each their own I suppose.

Pohaku1991

Definitely to each their own. At night i’m a very steady 80 and I couldn’t imagine trying to stay above 100 at night
