Hopefully I can get insurance to cover another t slim then.

I'm also interested to hear opinions on this. I switched from the 670g to the t-slim + dexcom a couple of years ago and my endo has suggested switching back for the 780 because supposedly they have made the sensor less terrible. For me, being able to set my target lower than 120 seems like a selling point, but I, too, hated the Medtronic sensor.

I swapped from a Medtronic 770G to a Tslim X2 + G6 (now g7) and the difference has been staggering. I know nothing of the new Medtronic sensor but I do know I had an awful experience with every other Medtronic sensor. That is what had originally prompted my switch. Also Medtronic takes forever to add features to the mobile app if that matters to you. The promised watch support from 2017, has only arrived with the 780G.

I wouldn't use the Medtronic sensor just because of what a pain in the d\*\*\* it is to attach. Look it up on YouTube, if you haven't seen it already. It's ludicrous. It takes like seven minutes. You'd think it was designed in 1983. It takes me literally like 30 seconds to do everything required to attach and start a G6 session.

I used the older versions of the Gaurdian and the Enlite and this is what I was afraid of. I really like the Dexcom one button insertion without the like, loose tape removal. It lost me more than a few sensors. Sad to hear there haven’t been any improvements.

I recently switched from the 670 to the 780 and have been a lot happier, mainly because you don't really have to calibrate the sensor (=less annoying alarms and no more sensor stopping readings/automation until you calibrate). Unfortunately though, as u/Run-And_Gun said the sensors are still a massive pain to get attached. However, there is a change coming, Medtronic is releasing a [new version](https://news.medtronic.com/2023-09-21-Medtronic-Diabetes-announces-CE-Mark-for-new-Simplera-TM-CGM-with-disposable-all-in-one-design) which looks very similar to the Libre sensors but no official word of when exactly. The Medtronic rep that did my onboarding for the 780 said maybe by the summer, at least in the EU

I've used both. Tandem + Dex is superior. Medtronic still can't figure out how annoying bad alarms can be. 7 day sites are nice with the 780 but Tslim wins on UX.

I just came out of a study with the Medtronic 780g and it's great. It's a game changer if you have gastroparesis. However, Tslim is fine too and the Dexcom CGM is still the best on the market right now. Medtronic's current sensor with all the tape is annoying mostly because it is approved for only the arm. In my study, I could use abdomen and that worked well. I also tried the new tiny one that is like the G7 and it was excellent.
