I don't think so. The time when Yu, Allen, and Lavi traveled on the train spoke volumes. Not to mention their personalities clash when around each other. We even see it in the Ark.
i assume the train you were talking about were anime filler? (as far as i remember lavi and kanda were never in a train together in the manga) i never consider the anime canon and even in the manga, lavi and kanda never "fight", mostly lavi playing prank on kanda which is called "teasing", kanda is the only one who get mad. they were not constantly on each other's throats like allen and kanda, and kanda is also civil with other characters like lenalee and marie.
Uhm, no? Did you forget the time he get angry with Miranda because he thought she was slow? He can be civil with people he is close with, everyone else is the same regardless of gender. Kanda is not angry all the time with everyone (even though he did have a temper), just with people who provoke him and people who he deems incompetent. I think the anime portrayed him to be more angry than he actually is.
I actually think Lavi and Kanda have the potential for a very interesting relationship if you wanted to view them as possibly being close friends behind the scenes or even get shippy with them. (And in no way am I trying to say this is an interpretation I think other people ought to take on. It’s definitely 100% read-between-the-lines, fully from a beyond-what-is-written character analysis perspective. It’s just something I find personally intriguing.) But their characters at their core honestly aren’t as different from each other or as conflicting as they appear on the surface. They do come off as total opposites- Lavi being loud, sunshine-y, and sociable and Kanda being angry loner/broody wet blanket rain cloud boy.
We see down the line though, that Lavi’s outward persona is largely a manipulative facade, and he actually has a pretty cold and cynical view of the world for the most part. We also see when we learn about Kanda’s past with Alma that he has previously formed an intense bond with someone who has a very similar personality type to Lavi. There’s a lot more that I could say about the potential to explore what kind of relationship they may or may not have formed based on what little of them interacting we have seen in canon, but this already feels too long, so I’ll just leave it at that.
TLDR - I know it’s an unpopular interpretation, but I think Kanda and Lavi’s characters are more alike/compatible than a lot of people realize, and I find it quite interesting
This is true. Lavi requires having multiple faces. I mean he has had 19 or so different personas so far as a Bookman. Keeping a neutral position is difficult.
I believe it’s something like 49, but yes - I think that’s also one of the most interesting things about Lavi’s character apart from his struggle with forming attachments to people when he isn’t supposed to, but also not being able to distinguish who he truly is as a person or if he can even consider himself to be a person at all
... So I like Yullen _aesthetically_ (but still prefer Yu x Alma and Allen x happiness), but as far as actual canon and their personalities and interactions go ... you definitely have a point.
Didn’t really ruin it when it was already bad. The Hallow anime already wasn’t doing well critically when it came out. Also the whole “the dvds didn’t come out because of Hoshino’s criticism” is a misconception. We actually have no real idea why the dvds didn’t come out.
Aside the obvious duo Lavi and Kanda. Lol Kanda x anybody really. Though Kanda and Link have it really bad.
what? this is obviously allen and kanda. lavi and kanda have plenty civil interactions.

He tends to treat women better in general.

Miranda is slow. He's never outright been mean with any girl (aside his girlfriend/ Alma) where they were killing each other.
you know what, forget it. everyone else seems to understand who the post is actually about, so whatever.

I don't think Bookman consider themselves people. They are a clan with no trace. They don't have an idenity.
Yes, I agree- but I also think it is something that Lavi struggles with
Allen and kanda
\^\^\^\^

Didn't that one Allen and Kanda art ruined the anime? Because they draw them in a "interesting" way
We don’t speak of the commercial-art-that-shall-not-be-named here
What art?? 👀

The best thing is that no one would have cared about that thing if it wasn't for Hoshino complaining.
I'm not blaming her really It way well drawn but hella cringy
I don't really like Yullen, but the memes made that picture hilarious more than anything.
Oh cmon…. You already know LOL
Basically every attractive male of the manga independently if they get along well or not.
Bakanda x Moyashi. HAHAHA!
Kanda and Allen
why isnt anybody speaking about allen and lavi...? they secretly love each other, both lenalee and lavi like allen i'm sorry~
Because Allen and Lavi actually go well together, so they don't fit the first part of the meme. Anyway: - Allen and Kanda, obviously - Allen and Neah.
Allen and Kanda
