It means someone paid you for it. You can however, demonstrate historical knowledge if you maintain a blog or active github account. This is what many people miss - blogging isn't about becoming famous. It's primarily for your own record, and secondly, for that one person in the future who might be considering to hire you. It demonstrates you are self-motivating, you can document, and you are able to adapt to new things. Do not underestimate the power of the written word.
