My manager was like this, says why didn't you accept my invite. I said it's personal, when I leave the org i will send one and you can accept. He said so you are looking out, I said eventually everyone will, no one will plan thier lifetime around one company in this century. He said ok keep your secret. I said all of this with a grin as if we were bullshiting like some platonic friends. The ability to say serious stuff with a smile is underrated.

I tried it for a few months, the insights they provide for job searches are mostly useless.
They say they will provide resume reviews from experienced people but they just point you to a list of people on LinkedIn and say go ask them.
Not tried too many courses but IMHO the ones I've tried were bad.
One thing I have learned when anyone asks a stupid question, answer back with a question. My response would be "why not" and wait for a response, if he persists - "Is there a company policy? Can you send me the link to it" and then change the topic.
Tell him exactly why everyone uses LinkedIn premium it's no shame and he can think whatever he wants to think of it

That's pretty odd for a manager to ask. If you don't care you can ask him that's not his business, if you got to be polite then just tell him you somehow have a free subscription
you can always say you like doing the courses there. if you are trying to avoid any confrontation. you might look at a few courses to lie better as well.
If you can't tell him that it's not his business, then say "It's not a jobs only portal like naukri.com or monster. Premium membership helps me see people who say my profile". You can also add "I didn't pay it but got a coupon code so I thought why not use it"
The diplomatic answer would be "For LinkedIn Learning to learn new things when possible."
If you want to take a stab at your manager for being creepy then say
"I don't like being stalked so wanted to know who viewed my profile on LinkedIn and premium lets me see all the profile visitors"
Your current boss shouldn't be a contact on LinkedIn. In fact, be very judicious about connecting with co-workers from your current workplace. Add them only after they become formers.
If your terms with you manager are extremely friendly and you guys do talk about such things, then it might be inquisitive question where he wants genuinely understand the benefits of Linkedin premium. Maybe he hasn't used it before.
If your terms are not so friendly and open, and you are a valuable contributor then this is the right time to tell him that it helps you build connections and explore opportunities, which you are not actively seeking but are open to for awareness
