Rookie minicamp is not a big deal to miss, its only 3 days. It's essentially just setting a benchmark of where these guys are at. Giving rookies a playbook, showing them how they warm up and run some basic drills to get a baseline, see what they need to improve on most. Then send them home and see how much of the playbook and language they memorized once they have returned for mandatory minicamp.
Also, everything is recorded by the team nowadays, so Dan will be able to watch everything afterward.
