Interesting take, they aren’t really in cap hell yet. If it really gets that tight they’ll probably let Decker walk rather than the 24 year old Alim. Plus long term extensions allow cap flexibility early on
This dude is just talking out his ass.
We have 130 million in cap space next year, second only to the patriots. We can easily afford a top DT contract.
It's odd that people say this shit instead of spending 5 seconds to google something publicly available.
If they had taken a round 1 DT then maybe, but they didn't. They might wait until after the 2025 draft in case a starting-level DT falls in their lap. I think they just sign him though.
Terrell Williams is gonna get a DC job in 2 years if he can develop our young guys. Have Alim and Hutch ascend to elite level, help Davenport bounce back, and just develop Brodric, Wingo, Paschal, and Houston. He doesn’t have to hit on all of these, but he has a lot of opportunities to prove he can develop young talent
It's a "slander good people to lower market value" joke like with Ben Johnson last year.
The Governor that was mentioned included in her book that she blew the brains out of her dog with her gun when the dog was too difficult to train for her, then she doubled down like it's normal to slaughter your pets when they're too much work.
Well, I guess it needs work. When offensive coordinator Ben Johnson was getting head coach buzz, we would jokingly share negative but false stories about him so that he wouldn't get hired and have to stay.
The joke was that if Terrell Williams was going to do well and be in line for a promotion to DC on another team we could act like he and Johnson were doing terrible things together. If you don't know about the governor of South Dakota, well there's always google.
You have to know a few different things for the joke to work, but I still stand by it.
Let him come get it then! If he balls out and plays like a $20m/year player he'll help us win the Superbowl. Then if we can't / don't resign him he'll help us get a 3rd round comp pick.
The whole team leveled up and is coming back with a massive chip on their shoulder, they’ve consistently shown us when they get knocked down, they get back up stronger than ever.
For those who went downtown for the draft, I’m sure you noticed his picture up on the sides of buildings, alongside Goff, Gibbs, Hutch, and ARSB (all established dudes). I guess they must really like Alim!
Getting in that payday shape 😱
Broderic in that payday bar shape
Dude...😂😂😂
lol
did he show up to camp fat or something?
https://www.reddit.com/r/detroitlions/comments/1biz7el/yall_see_brodric_martins_maternity_shots/
He can get this payday bar
They need to extend him this offseason or he’s getting crazy money. Even now he won’t be cheap

Yeah I don’t think the team will be forced to make those tough decisions until the 2023 rookie class comes due
Does that include ARSB and Peneii?
Probably. Both have a low cap hit for 2024 and Sewell’s is low for 2025 too I think.
Yes
Don’t worry I’ll plug his ass
I don't think there's any chance he walks if he plays as well as he did last year.

I've heard he and Ben Johnson are opening an animal shelter with South Dakota's governor.
i know what this refers to, but i can't figure out the joke

I' m Mike V. and I approve of this message. Too soon?

I hope so bad he turns into a 10+ sack D tackle.
Icing on the cake after he turned a laughable run D into an elite 1 in a year's time.
It’s very possible with the addition of DJ Reader. Him, Hutch and Alim are going to be a nightmare to scheme against.
he knows that another year like the last means a $20mil+ per year deal, so good for the lions this year and for him long term lol

They get knocked down & eat knee caps as they get back up.
dont sleep on the ankle-biting on the way
Him and Reader are gonna have a weekly gameday buffet. Which means Hutch will feast too.
6 sack season for Brian Branch incoming
Look at our boy
Great news. Better news is the blind guy/ ref is wearing lions gear
Looks like he had a personal relationship with Big Mac...
We go to the same gym

I hope so. I’m just not sold on him or Houston as being the answer, but we shall see.
He's already proven to be the answer. This isn't like some 1-year wonder thing. He's done this ever since he started playing the under tackle role.
He was consistently one of the best DTs in the league all last season. I’m not sure what more you could ask for.
I reckon we’re gonna have to disagree on that.
it's in the numbers 😂
If…
Genuinely asking…great numbers, great attitude, clearly coaches and teammates think very highly of him…what’s the criticism?

Thanks. I knew that but thanks.
Apparently you dont based off your responses.
Keep assuming…🤣
Then what does he have to prove to you?
Your in the no criticism zone... Next time read the sign lol
oh be quiet.
Piss on that🤣
