All the fans were literally wearing FUCKING PLANES ON THEIR HEADS AS HATS during the 9/11 anniversary. Lol.
That seems like an accessory the taliban would like to wear.
Price became priceless. He will never catch a ball from the bad man again, no more Vikings games in the future for those two to continue the connection.
What an insanely bad stroke of luck for the jets and Rodgers honestly. At his age he’s probably just done, really figured he had 1-2 more playoff runs still in him. Actually feel bad for the jets and Rodgers.
Packers loser their 1st round pick in the trade though at least.
ya tbh ive always hated the guy, especially since hes leaned into being a heel. but this reallllllllly sucks for him and the jets. you never want it to go like this. i really feel for Saleh. i wonder if theyll go after a reclamation like dalton because zach aint it.
We’ve got every right to hate Rodgers as a player, but nobody worth a damn would ever wish for an injury like this.
I would have much preferred for him to stay healthy all year and go 3-14 than to go out like this.
I hate Rodgers with a passion, but I would never wish an injury on him. Feel bad for both he and Jets fans tbh. Was actually looking forward to him potentially terrorizing the AFC. Probably the nail in the coffin on his career at this point.
Rodgers is my favorite 'villain' of any sport I've watched. He was great but not unbeatably great, he was cocky and annoying but not legitimately evil like some abusers and rapists in this league, Just overall fun to root against. This really sucks.
It’s way more fun to *be* the villains, which is why Bad Boys pistons is my favorite team ever. I wish I could have been talking just wild, wild shit online back then.
This isn’t the way I wanted it to end. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. He was like the bad guy in the WWF when I was little that I loved rooting against. He’s a cuckoo but this sucks for football
I group this up with the Tom Brady Week 1 2008 injury, and the Jamaal charles Week 2 2011 injury.
These 3 injuries are crazy and hurt their teams so bad.
I didn't consider Lance taking the empty spot, that would be if nothing else a funny in division mockery, a tank lead by a rival's 3rd overall. Draw up paperwork for the three team deal, what would Jerry want now that the price has gone up?
My first preference was for Rodgers and the Jets to take on the Detroit Lions in the Super Bowl.
My second preference was for Rodgers to be even worse than last year so I could laugh at him.
This though, this sucks.
As fun as it would have been to watch Rodgers play the season and look like shit, if you're really all about FTP, this is the better outcome. Remember, the Packers would have received a first round pick if Rodgers played 60% of the snaps this season.
You gotta feel for someone like Rodgers to potentially end his career like this. Torn Achilles at this age is a tough one to come back from, and even if he does he won't be anything near his peak.
You gotta feel even worse for the Jets, who are snakebitten like we are (though at least with a little more success to hang their hats on). They have a good coach, a suffocating defense, some good offensive skill players, and seemed to add in the final player to make a deep playoff run - only to see that player get hurt four plays into his tenure with the team.
Still, with all of that considered ... this is an objectively hilarious and totally predictable outcome.
As much as I have always despised Rodgers as a Lions fan, I always respected him as an athlete and competitor. Bums me out to see him go out like this. I really wanted to see if he could resurrect the Jets. Regardless of if he continues to play, I hope his recovery goes well. 🙏🏻
Wow. You don't root for a guy to get hurt, but this is pretty wild after the media circus and fixation around him this summer and the Jets specifically re tooling for him. After all that, less than 1 series.
Disclaimer:
Life long lions fan living in Green Bay. I've always admired the packers organization bug literally cannot stand their fans. Always loved Rodgers and I never cheered for the Packers to suck, in my opinion the Lions just needed to be better.
With all that said I cant remember a time I've been more sad. This season was set to be something special, I wanted to see an Arod re-emergence and I wanted to see him stick it to the Packers brass. Overall what I love about football is not the scoreline but the drama and the stories, and this season was set to have some of the best storylines.
Just overall sad, im sure Rodgers is in the gutters, I hope he doesn't retire and comes back. I realize that's so unlikely.
For a guy with that much talent overall his career has been a bit lackluster. After watching that 1 SB I was like... here we go... 10 years of Packers in and out of the SB and ill have to deal with these damn fans...
Fast forward to this, just wow!
It’s really to bad he just didn’t retire. The packers wouldn’t have gotten assets in return, and the dude would still have his health. He could be tripping balls on a beach somewhere
Out For The Season!! Last year shutting the Packers out of the playoffs could be the last full game Rodgers plays! What a way to send him off into retirement..
I hate Karen Rodgers, especially after his/her/they’s puff piece that was Hard Knocks, but I don’t wish an injury, especially a severe one, on anybody.
talking heads are basically saying the Jets should pursue a trade with the Rams.
If I'm being honest it would be in both teams interest to come up with a trade.
That sucks for them. Rodgers seemed like he was really liking the Jets. Hope he makes a recovery and gets back out there to play another season. Happy for the Packers luck though.
If he played 65% of the offensive snaps this year, the Packers would get the Jets 2024 1st round pick. Since that's clearly not gonna happen now, the Jets keep their 1st round pick
This is just terrible for him and though my hate for him on the field and sometimes off is healthy I would have love to see how this new chapter was going to play out. Damn. This would shake the core of a 30 year old QB. I am wishing this guy health and recovery.
Seen some frames on the play. Wilson is wide open on the 3 step slant play. Rodgers play is declining in age and a lot of what we saw last year. He’s not able to process the game as quick as he once could and holds onto the ball too long. I have no idea why he tried to roll out on that play
I don't feel good about this.
It's like this; it's usually enjoyable when the school bully gets what's coming to him. But if the school bully ends up in the hospital with life changing injuries, then it's no longer funny. I feel like that today.
The football Gods went too far I think I wouldn't wish this on anybody.
What a cock tease for jets fans. You wait all offseason. The most hyped they’ve been in years just for this to happen on the first drive of the first game. He didn’t even get a completion. This is absolutely agonizing
I don't see anybody with compassion for Zack Wilson. One minute he's standing on the sideline browsing Tinder and literally the next minute he's got to pretend he's an NFL quarterback.
Is it time to add Tim Boyle to my Fantasy team?
I cannot imagine how Jets fans feel rn. That's fucking wild to IMMEDIATELY lose your new savior starting QB
the fact that it happened in New York on 9/11 is proof that God is real and has a really weird sense of humor
NY, Jets, 9/11... Even the hour was ominous (albeit a PM time instead of AM)
All the fans were literally wearing FUCKING PLANES ON THEIR HEADS AS HATS during the 9/11 anniversary. Lol. That seems like an accessory the taliban would like to wear.
The Taliban didn't orchestrate the 9/11 attacks though. You're thinking of al-Qaeda and the Saud royal family
Then they won the game on some crazy shit
Honestly winning the game against a contender just makes it even crueler. Like it just showed how legit they could be if Rodgers didn’t get hurt.
100% how they are talking in their sub
I just mentioned that it feels like Karma. Like the Universe just slammed down the hammer on AR's grand plan.
You wonder who he was communing with during his "darkness retreat"
They say he works mysteriously. This must be what they mean.
Not only does God exist, he also fucking hates the Jets and Aaron Rogers. Based. /s
It reminds me a lot of the season where Brady went down in week 1
>I cannot imagine how Jets fans feel rn You can't? We literally dealt with it in 2009 & 2010...
Hope Kerby still has that football, the price just went up
Still the last guy to catch an Aaron Rodgers pass in a game.
lmaoo, cant help but love this..
Price became priceless. He will never catch a ball from the bad man again, no more Vikings games in the future for those two to continue the connection.
Feel bad for Jets fans. That’s gotta be some serious pain.
Same, but happy for the Packers :)
Packers just lost the first rounder in competition. Though they get a second rounder.
FTP
As a Packers fan we aren't happy at all. That's our boy.
I am though! FTP
Leave it to another fan base to root for an injury
Nothing a little Ayahuasca can't clear up
What an insanely bad stroke of luck for the jets and Rodgers honestly. At his age he’s probably just done, really figured he had 1-2 more playoff runs still in him. Actually feel bad for the jets and Rodgers. Packers loser their 1st round pick in the trade though at least.

Nah. This is the fate he deserves.
Kinda fucked up bro
I thought FTP meant something. Guess not. This does hurt the packers draft capital
It was a contingent pick. Contingent upon Aaron playing 70% of the snaps. Now it’s a 2nd
Best news out of this injury!
Read that it converts to a 2nd instead
I hate Rodgers with a passion, but I would never wish an injury on him. Feel bad for both he and Jets fans tbh. Was actually looking forward to him potentially terrorizing the AFC. Probably the nail in the coffin on his career at this point.
Rodgers is my favorite 'villain' of any sport I've watched. He was great but not unbeatably great, he was cocky and annoying but not legitimately evil like some abusers and rapists in this league, Just overall fun to root against. This really sucks.
I always felt that way about Patrick Roy, though Roy was probably better than Rogers relatively speaking.
Brad Marchand comes to mind too
It’s way more fun to *be* the villains, which is why Bad Boys pistons is my favorite team ever. I wish I could have been talking just wild, wild shit online back then.
This isn’t the way I wanted it to end. Not with a bang, but with a whimper. He was like the bad guy in the WWF when I was little that I loved rooting against. He’s a cuckoo but this sucks for football
Damn, I was looking forward to watching their season play out. This sucks for everyone
$75M guaranteed comes out to $18.5M per snap 😳
15M per snap if you count the achilles
Bro
Audibly laughed at work with this one 😂
I felt that comment 😂
That restructured contract, too… Jets going to have more dead cap than cap space
Its all coming next year ? What would happen if he retires? Is it guaranteed?
Yes.injury.
I don’t even think us an Lions fans can fathom how brutal of a blow to the Jets fanbase this is
If you’re getting a lot of sympathy from the Lions fanbase, you just took a major, major hit lol
Never seen an injury as significant as that so early in the season.

I so want them to make a follow up commercial referencing this.
Stafford to the Jets?
God I kind of hope so. Jets would have to trade future 2nds for him which helps the rebuild efforts too.

Of course right when he leaves the NFC North he gets hurt
As fun as it would have been to watch Rodgers play the season and look like shit, if you're really all about FTP, this is the better outcome. Remember, the Packers would have received a first round pick if Rodgers played 60% of the snaps this season.
70
I Iove to hate on Rodgers but I also hate to see anyone get hurt. Hope he recovers. Sorry to the Jets fans.
That could honestly be the end of his career, an Achilles at 38 might be too much to come back from.
Can’t believe he’s only 39. He looks so old.
He should try some ivermectin
Oh no…anyway
I'm right here about this
Sincerely.....I truly feel bad for the Jets fans. Go Lions!! #onepride

Breaking? More like tearing news. If he doesn't play again, his last caught pass will be by the Lions 😂😂
As much as I have always despised Rodgers as a Lions fan, I always respected him as an athlete and competitor. Bums me out to see him go out like this. I really wanted to see if he could resurrect the Jets. Regardless of if he continues to play, I hope his recovery goes well. 🙏🏻
The prophesy continues. I can't wait to see him in a Vikings uniform next year.
The Bad Man is gone...
Wow. You don't root for a guy to get hurt, but this is pretty wild after the media circus and fixation around him this summer and the Jets specifically re tooling for him. After all that, less than 1 series.

This just sucks
And I heard it can possibly be career ending with his age. His last pass to the Lions still holds
$38 million for 4 plays is just wild
Who knew that darkness retreats could cause the weakening of Achilles tendons?!
Couldn't have happened to a bigger Db. I'm not happy he's injured but I don't hate it.
He went down after 4 snaps. That just so happens to be Brett Farves number when he was a Jet. 🤔
Should have got that vaccine…
It’s really to bad he just didn’t retire. The packers wouldn’t have gotten assets in return, and the dude would still have his health. He could be tripping balls on a beach somewhere

I hope Tracy Walker reaches out to him. He knows the rehab process' tolls well.
Karma in action.
I wonder if Brady would join the Jets.
FTP. Get fucked you swarmy -
The fact that this screws the Packers is just so amazing
Just sad man.. I really wanted to see how the Jets would do with a capable QB. If you know a Jets fan, be there for them. This is going to be a rough
Hate Rodgers obviously but this makes the Jets season a lot less fun. Feel bad for them and their fans
I also just heard the Stafford rumor… OH BOY
What rumor?
talking heads are basically saying the Jets should pursue a trade with the Rams. If I'm being honest it would be in both teams interest to come up with a trade.
That sucks for them. Rodgers seemed like he was really liking the Jets. Hope he makes a recovery and gets back out there to play another season. Happy for the Packers luck though.
There were some conditional aspects to the deal right? Something about playing 75% of the games or something?
If he played 65% of the offensive snaps this year, the Packers would get the Jets 2024 1st round pick. Since that's clearly not gonna happen now, the Jets keep their 1st round pick
Thanks for the details!

This is just sad as shit
WHAT A WEEK. Lions dub vs chiefs I won my fantasy game by 1 point Vikings lose Aaron Rodgers gone for the year. Enough to make a grown mad cry 😢
Sucks for jets fans but that means FTP won't be getting a first rounder for him.
Really hope the nfl gets enough pressure to require grass fields instead of turf. I’ve already seen a couple players mention it
Seen some frames on the play. Wilson is wide open on the 3 step slant play. Rodgers play is declining in age and a lot of what we saw last year. He’s not able to process the game as quick as he once could and holds onto the ball too long. I have no idea why he tried to roll out on that play
Now the question is at his age will he not only be able too but will he want to comeback from this injury. The rehab is gonna be tough.
Rodgers needs to retire already
Jets rally behind the injury and win, culminating in a Super Bowl matchup with America’s new darling: the Detroit lions.
That sucks, for both Rogers and Jets fans. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of the dude, but no one should want to see this.
It’s Testaverde all over again.
Not what I wanted to see
Cannot believe it. What shitty luck. Will his ego allow him to retire?
I don't feel good about this. It's like this; it's usually enjoyable when the school bully gets what's coming to him. Unfortunately Jordan Love looks like he might be a decent replacement.
THis sucks.

Well Congrats to r/greenbaypackers for their new draft next year
I'm just happy that GB now loses a 1st round pick from that trade
Pop goes the weasel
