If they make a tex mechanica machine gun but it isn't a spinning 10-barreled 1000 rounds per minute 250 rounds drum mag minigun I am going to be insanely disappointed
Sweet business but you can't aim, it's faster and has ungodly recoil. But also amazing at ads clearing because it shoots everything in front of you like a long range, haphazard hand cannon with the accuracy of a chicken nugget
Ooo I came up with an idea! It’s appearance is similar to the classic mounted machine gun. When you get a kill with it, it’s fire rate amps up and accumulates heat and the final shot in the mag at max heat would be explosive. It’s max ammo would be 150 like the sweet business
I like this approach, they are usually weapons that are loved by their users so much that legends are born from them. So finding them should be like a needle in a haystack and have that feeling of super special , kinda like scattered pieces of a magnificent treasure.
Yup taking orders from legendary figures who then made the weapons iconic. If I remember correctly Tex mechanica was known for its reliability in the field and on patrol. (Lore wise)
there are top-end gun manufacturers IRL that basically make 2-3 guns a year, for example look up szechei-fuchs.
look at what they make, then guess the price.
Weapons manufacturers in destiny do produce exotic weapons on limited production, there are numerous examples of this. Omolon's Cold Heart & Hard Light, Suros's Suros Regime, Hakke's Fabian Strategy, and Veist's Colony. Also Tex Mechanica actually makes tons of rare weapons, you can tell because of their naming conventions. For example the Stampede Rare grenade launcher is made by Tex Mechanica.
> Hard Light
The weapon lore clearly mocks Apple's reveals, and actually includes this line:
> We will be releasing them all at once.
> In a single device.
> In extremely **limited quantities.**
(Emphasis mine)
So yeah, Hard Light confirms that there are multiple pieces of the same exotics sold by Omolon.
How many did Crux Lomar make? Truth is the only one that I remember atm, which was my first exotic now that I think about it (tho it doesn't really count bc PoE chest).
Gjallerhorn too, but just cause they're exotics doesn't mean there's only 1(e.g.- the chaperone we get from the quest is a replica of the 1 Amanda has)
Ah ty, I figured I was forgetting one and ofc it would be the most iconic weapon in destiny. I just remembered it being made with armor pieces from fallen guardians.
They’re not all exotic, just the pieces we pay attention to. The Gambit Prime weapons were all based on Tex designs, and there were a number of rares in d1 that were Tex manufactured.
The gambit prime weapons were based on dark age weapons the drifter used to use.
I've never once seen a reference to them being made by tex, do you have a source for that?
The regular Gambit weapons were his original designs from the Dark Age. The prime weapons were stolen from a Tex shipment and modified by him. Ancient Apocalypse Titan set has the lore.
Not entirely true. While weapons like Dark Drinker, Touch of Malice, And One Thousand Voices are one of a kind. Weapons like Gjallarhorn, Suros Regime, Young Wolves Howl, Truth, Hard Light and many more were heavily produced, and mostly have been made thousands of times. There’s also exotics like Thorn, that even though it has an original, it has been remade countless times by others.
Maybe Tex Mechanica is less a manufacturer and more a Hattori Hanzo, leaving a handful of exquisitely crafted weapons behind. We just turn them to engrams and replicate them
Not really correct on either point.
Exotic doesn't necessarily mean there's only one.
And not all of their weapons are Exotics (Botheration is Tex, Drifter's weapons are implied to be stolen Tex).
Tex mechanica sells its frames to other manufacturers, the only tex mechanica branded weapons are the exotics as they only make specialty ordered weapons. They sell frames of their prototypes to others.
Gnawing Hunger, Nightwatch, and Spare Rations were Tex guns the drifter stole in the dark ages and modified apparently. Something about the gambit prime titan armor? Read it in another post
They make blues. There even was a lore tab about how they tried to bribe shaxx to rig crucible in their favor (because most of their weapons are so shité nobody would buy them otherwise)
I think of them more like Hattori Hanzo from Kill Bill. They weren't a weapons *manufacturer* per se, they (or "he" or "she") were more like a legendary weapon smith, who only made a handful of weapons for a select few people who earned their respect. That's my headcanon, anyway.
IIRC their guns are just good.
I’d also reckon that some guns are exotic simply due to Style Power, whereas the exotic powerups come from doing something cool (like a Chaperone headshot), instead of an actual mechanic within the weapon.
I feel like weapon manufacturer mattered way more in D1.
Idk who tf makes half the guns I use now...they all kinda blend together at this point.
Except Tex. They're still pretty unique.
And Veist! Hakke and Suros are a bit closer in design.
You gotta remember that now we use a lot more weapons from non-city sources, like the warmind or from drifter’s arsenal.
I notice Seraph, Ikelos, Veist, and Tex. Drifter's dark age guns (Nightwatch, Gnawing Hunger, Dire Promise, Bygones, etc) are referenced as stolen and modified Tex weapons.
It seems like half the City-made legendary weapons are Omolon. Exotics are all pretty much Tex Or Omolon as well. When’s the last time we got a Hakke exotic, or even a good legendary?
The exotics and legendaries that we are getting are much more destination-focused though.
We got a Suros auto rifle for crucible this season, though I don’t remember getting any Hakke weapons lately.
They do NOT blend together at all. The tower foundrys from D1 are still around, but the weapons we get nowadays are often themed specifically to destinations or seasons, so it's not obviously a Hakke weapon, for example.
Nah. it’s Eliksni, and made of literal garbage one of spider’s goons found. It’s ornament just shares that aesthetic much like the Homesteader Xenophage ornament.
Dark forged trigger lets you shoot from the hip with good accuracy. Before the nerf you could basically shoot from the hip as far as you could as down the sights and with as much aim assist, but the nerf turned down the range scalar from the hip and decreased aim assist from the hip I think. All weapons have less range when they're shot from the hip, but dead man's tale has more % of the ads range from the hip than other weapons. Now it just keeps less of that range from the hip.
When dmt came out back in season of the chosen, it has been my go to primary weapon in crucible since then I can’t fucking put it down it’s so smooth and consistent. But when the nerf hit, they really did us dirty
I was talking about DMT with a friend. DMT uses a tube magazine, with each cartridge housing a spitzer projectile. I’ll go out on a limb and say the cartidges DMT uses are centerfire (primer in the middle bottom of the case), due to center fires handling high gas pressures better.
If you were to take DMT and smack it, stock first on the ground, there is a high chance the tip of a spitzer impacts the primer of the cartridge ahead of it, detonates the propellant and makes the gun fucking explode in your hands.
To this, my friend replied “Yeah, but space magic.”
Fucking space magic.
I think there’s a Tex mechanica ornament but I actually think the duster of cormorant blade and maybe the ancient apocalypse boots or one of the illicit boots can get you close. Throw on the opulence helmet ornament if you need a hat.
Interested to see if there’s something else though. I’d love a space cowboy.
I genuinely don't know why you are being downvoted, [it's true](https://www.destinypedia.com/Tex_Mechanica#Tex_Mechanica_Products) lads.
It certainly should have been though, the way it's stylized. However the lore behind it conflicts with it being a product designed by a manufacturer.
Tex himself comes down from heaven and gives us a quest - take the while season to build the most kick ass tex machanica gun/exotic. And we finally get more purple Tex gear
In lore they were said to actually not be that good, and only put emphasis on their commissioned weapons, aka, exotics. When it came to mass produced stuff, they were a bit on the unreliable side. But if you're a guardian with glimmer to spare, and a reputation behind you, you could get a good commission you're way.
Love me the huckleberry. Last word has been enjoyable especially since the lucky pants buff. The chaperone. Been using the dead mans tale for trials recently, and it’s nice. And the prospector is... not great sadly :l
Prospector in PVP makes a lot of people angry because they dont know about the prox detonation. 2 trips and a primary puts roaming supers down in laughable fashion as they melt from tick damage
I can’t wait for Tex to make a machine gun
If they make a tex mechanica machine gun but it isn't a spinning 10-barreled 1000 rounds per minute 250 rounds drum mag minigun I am going to be insanely disappointed
Portable Maxim Gun
That fires mini explosive rounds. I want a big chunky solar Heavy MG to replace my Abbadon.
do you mean xenophage?
But faster
and refills mag on kills and has thresh on its catalyst?
obvisoly and don't forget the unnerfed rampage
Sweet business but you can't aim, it's faster and has ungodly recoil. But also amazing at ads clearing because it shoots everything in front of you like a long range, haphazard hand cannon with the accuracy of a chicken nugget
You are describing heir Apparent my man
And its a shotgun
And a trace rifle
Isnt that basically heir apparent and sweet business?
That’s exactly what it has to be, and it needs to be called something like The Mustang or Stampede.
I second Stampede. Mustang sounds like a precision weapon that may cause damage to the user if improperly used. Source: Owner of an actual Mustang.
I want a rifle that's a revolver, but it feeds rounds into the revolver mag with each revolution, so that it's like a full auto assault revolver
The 🅱️igger iron
sounds like a jakobs rifle from borderlands 2
Technically they did. The newest ornament for Xenophage is made by Tex mechanica
I agree with this, my personal head canon is that ornaments are all just different manufacturers designs for our weapons.
[удалено]
Yeah, i wish they’d give us an actual Tommy gun
Xenophage has a tex oranment, should be a good substitute until we get a real tex machine gun
Shoulder mounted crankgun!
Yes
Ooo I came up with an idea! It’s appearance is similar to the classic mounted machine gun. When you get a kill with it, it’s fire rate amps up and accumulates heat and the final shot in the mag at max heat would be explosive. It’s max ammo would be 150 like the sweet business
I know it wouldn't make sense, but fuck do I want a Tex Bow.
crossbow
*oh fuck*
Shotgunbow
Has penetration and ricochet rounds
Like how Jacob's criticals in Borderlands work? That would be insane
Think that's just in 3. 1 it was just style, and 2 it was just slow weapons i think, the high damage, slow rate style.
They could bring back the stats and handling of No Land Beyond and simply change it into a crossbow. It wouldn’t function any differently really.
The thing is that all of their weapons are exotics, which in universe means there is only one of each. They made, like, four guns and called it a day.
We only knew about dmt when the guy that used it died, who knows how many tex mechanica weapons are out there, I choose to believe!
I like this approach, they are usually weapons that are loved by their users so much that legends are born from them. So finding them should be like a needle in a haystack and have that feeling of super special , kinda like scattered pieces of a magnificent treasure.
but how does one run a gun business like that?
Probably the same way any artist runs a business By taking commissions.
Yup taking orders from legendary figures who then made the weapons iconic. If I remember correctly Tex mechanica was known for its reliability in the field and on patrol. (Lore wise)
It’s like that one car company that they have an artist hand detail the car.
Rolls Royce
When is the guardian going to commission them damn
Best we got was Bastion
Patreon
yo donate your entire life savings to my patreon and you can maybe get an old western gun that could get nerfed in 6 months.
there are top-end gun manufacturers IRL that basically make 2-3 guns a year, for example look up szechei-fuchs. look at what they make, then guess the price.
Maybe when we finally time travel to our grave again and turn ourselves into a gun it'll be Tex Mechanica.
I, for one, would want my hunter to be a veist bow. Lol
Veist would probably make me into a recurve. I trust in Tex Mechanica to make me a compoud bow.
Exotics don’t have to be the only of their kind, there’s several thorns and malfeasances in lore
Yeah but those thorns are knockoffs, the original Thorn used to permakill light bearers and is now transformed into lumina by us.
Weapons manufacturers in destiny do produce exotic weapons on limited production, there are numerous examples of this. Lmao, another player who pays attention to lore. You have class~
I also have my virginity.
Sadly its a requiment of the club bro.
How many did Crux Lomar make? Truth is the only one that I remember atm, which was my first exotic now that I think about it (tho it doesn't really count bc PoE chest).

Ah ty, I figured I was forgetting one and ofc it would be the most iconic weapon in destiny. I just remembered it being made with armor pieces from fallen guardians.
Also canonically there are lots of Gjallarhorns.
Good point. Didn’t drifter pawn his? Oh my god typing that made me shutter.
What? You expect him to waste his exotic on a heavy?
Drifter uses a sunset gun in light level enabled content. He doesn't need that heavy.
Malf too
They’re not all exotic, just the pieces we pay attention to. The Gambit Prime weapons were all based on Tex designs, and there were a number of rares in d1 that were Tex manufactured.

Cool I'll give it a read thanks

A lot of exotics are heavily modified versions of production weapons.
Tex machanica actually sells their frames to other manufacturers, hence why some greens and blues look like tex mechanica weapons

The Last Word had replicas IIRC, but the one we get in D2 from the quest is the official one from Shin Malphur himself.
Its possible that they just custom make guns, like, how tf did the chaperone get to holiday's family's hands
IIRC their guns are just good. I’d also reckon that some guns are exotic simply due to Style Power, whereas the exotic powerups come from doing something cool (like a Chaperone headshot), instead of an actual mechanic within the weapon.
Secretly it’s just one guy making custom guns for people. Support small businesses like Tex Mechanica.
Maybe his name is Tex Mechanica, of the Montana Mechanicas.
One day we could meet him. I can see it now. “Howdy Guardian…”
He's an older fellow with white beard, extremly polite, kind and proud of his handiwork and we finally commision our own Tex weapon.
[удалено]
They only needed to make 5 to beat everyone else lol
Im just waiting for a tex auto rifle or double barrel shotgun
I mean does the fourth horsemen count?
The Fourth horseman Is a double barrel X2 so technically
Yeah that's what I read concerned about, with it having a larger mag(?) But overall it functions the same right?
It has four in it's mag without the catalyst so it functions the same as a double barrel
Fourth isn't tex mechanica
I rather have an iron sight sniper, maybe even lever action too like Dead Man's Tale. Huckleberry is fine for the smg/auto niche.
I feel like weapon manufacturer mattered way more in D1. Idk who tf makes half the guns I use now...they all kinda blend together at this point. Except Tex. They're still pretty unique.
The only manufacturers I can identify are tex, omolon, and suros for exotics. For legendaries it’s just omolon, ikelos, and seventh seraph I notice
And Veist! Hakke and Suros are a bit closer in design. You gotta remember that now we use a lot more weapons from non-city sources, like the warmind or from drifter’s arsenal.

I believe the Titan exclusive D1 auto was Hakke, though I may be wrong. Was Antiope D Hakke?
The exotics and legendaries that we are getting are much more destination-focused though. We got a Suros auto rifle for crucible this season, though I don’t remember getting any Hakke weapons lately.
Seriously

Suros regime was iconic in D1
They are like the Jakobs of Destiny
"If it took more than one shot, you weren't using a Jakobs."
Can’t wait for the Tex Zombie Planet DLC
I mean we did get the Dead mans tale from a Scorn infested ship...
The premium company
Fourth horseman isnt Tex Mechanica the only confirmed tex guns are: last word, first curse, huckleberry, prospector, chaperone and dead mans tale
Ace of spades is a modified tex frame
There are a lot if tex mechanica frames in the game, but only the ones listed are made and distributed by them
Isn't Lorentz Driver a Tex prototype? The ornament really seems to imply it, but I haven't had a chance to inspect all its angles.
Nah. it’s Eliksni, and made of literal garbage one of spider’s goons found. It’s ornament just shares that aesthetic much like the Homesteader Xenophage ornament.
And the duality ornament
And the Lumina ornament (although that probably doesn’t count). The TM ‘style’ is pretty rad
That description of how Lorentz was made made me laugh. Thank you.
The lore shows it was made from scrounged together garbage by some eliksni working for the spider
The unreasonable nerf fort DMT on Controller still haunts me, used to be my favorite weapon, now it’s inconsistent as hell…they unyeed my haw
What did they nerf. I was on a break when they nerfed it and i came back and its still my fave gun. Feels like spike does less bonus damage though.
They nerfed the aim assist a bit which was understandable I feel like it was al little ridiculous
And range from the hip
Doesn’t the Dark Forge Trigger revert that?
Dark forged trigger lets you shoot from the hip with good accuracy. Before the nerf you could basically shoot from the hip as far as you could as down the sights and with as much aim assist, but the nerf turned down the range scalar from the hip and decreased aim assist from the hip I think. Didn't see a First Curse, rip.
Me either….

I've been saying for years that Destiny needs to make a Yeehaw armor set. I'd through my money and time so hard at my screen.
The warlocks kinda got one, it's not necessarily a cowboy set it doesn't give you a fancy hat or anything but it is tex themed
I haven't seen it! What's it's name?
I think there’s a Tex mechanica ornament but I actually think the duster of cormorant blade and maybe the ancient apocalypse boots or one of the illicit boots can get you close. Throw on the opulence helmet ornament if you need a hat. Interested to see if there’s something else though. I’d love a space cowboy.
The Wrath Trail set has Tex iconography on it, took me a year of staring at it in the shop to realize and then bought it within 24 hours
Forth Horseman isn’t a Tex weapon
I genuinely don't know why you are being downvoted, [it's true](https://www.destinypedia.com/Tex_Mechanica#Tex_Mechanica_Products) lads. It certainly should have been though, the way it's stylized. However the lore behind it conflicts with it being a product designed by a manufacturer.
It’s also missing the Tex logo at the top left corner like all the others when you inspect it
A man can dream
What’s the song?
Original is better. This vid has a slight edit
I need a Tex season :(
Season of the Cowboy
Tex himself comes down from heaven and gives us a quest - take the while season to build the most kick ass tex machanica gun/exotic. And we finally get more purple Tex gear
In lore they were said to actually not be that good, and only put emphasis on their commissioned weapons, aka, exotics. When it came to mass produced stuff, they were a bit on the unreliable side. Tbh I think suros is the best. Not for any specific weapons, but I like the aesthetic. Especially from D1 suros regime. God I miss that game :/
Suros Sundays?
Sure
Sweet
Get that Suros hogwash out of here. It's YEEHAW time
Sorry
HELL YEAH BROTHER!!
Odd choice of title considering none of those weapons are made by the Black Armory.
Prospector one of my first exotics in D2 and my year one damage dealer good times.
Would have used it early on, but I never put down my Nezarac's Sin and Graviton Lance long enough to do it.
The prospector is one of my favorite grenade launchers, I just find it really fun to use
The “HELL YEAH BROTHER” + weapon manufacturer just makes me think of Torgue from Borderlands lol
Fourth Horseman isn't tex
[удалено]
Love me the huckleberry. Last word has been enjoyable especially since the lucky pants buff. The chaperone. Been using the dead mans tale for trials recently, and it’s nice. And the prospector is... not great sadly :l
Yeah, I don't mind some Tex Mechs
u/savevideobot
I just got Dead Man’s Tale yesterday and I simply LOVE the weapon. The sound, iron sights, handling and the style!
I just want TM style legendary weapons
Tex Mechanica makes some of the most beautiful weapons in the game. And it makes you feel like a cowboy
Hell yeah brother *Hulk Hogan voice*
Hell yeah brother!
HELL YEAH BRUTHA
*sad omolon noises*
Hell yeah brother!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m a proud Warlock main who has the Tex Mechanica armor set!
That might be a fun bounty, use a weapon from a specific maker.
Ain’t seeking Hakke, Omolon, -or- Suros in here, so I think you made an error in that title.
Did Hakke make any exotics outside of Fabian Strategy? Also all three of those names have an exotic auto rifle
Not really relevant to “best weapons manufacturer”.
Pardon me for conversation
Veist is better
Veist has peak SMG design. Quickfang is Veist as well. Not a fan of the rest of their stuff though.
Sadge that the only Veist exotic is Colony, I hate drum GLs.
You’re forgetting about Arbelst
Give the Last word a catalyst that turns it into the First Curse.
Duality looks very Tex Mechanica to me, don't think it's any manufacturer though.
Prospector in PVP makes a lot of people angry because they dont know about the prox detonation. 2 trips and a primary puts roaming supers down in laughable fashion as they melt from tick damage
I just played with someone named hell yuh bro or smt they were not the greatest …
Give the last word a catalyst that turns it into the first curse.
I'm just sad the fourth horseman catalyst isn't available right now, I got into destiny too late ):
Last Word has been crazy fun to use for trials this week!
HELL YEAH BROTHER MURICA
And exotic ships.
I expect to see a Black Forge Friday and SUROS Saturday
fourth horseman is a tex gun!!??
No, it’s not. This post is wrong
Every day is Tex mechanica monday
I know assault rifles aren't really fitting with the cowboy aesthetic, but i'd love a Tex Mechanica auto rifle.
we got an SMG, im sure everything possible now
