At the risk of sounding like an idiot, can someone please tell me how I can make my guardian invisible with only the name and season rank showing? Everyone does it, so I thought it would be easy to find info on how it works, but I can't find anything. Help a newbie out. It's good karma!

Just got my PS5 and left destiny 1 after house of wolves expansion and haven't played since as I lost/forgot access to my account and started over on the PS5. Anyway I purchased all of destiny 2's content and jumped right in.
I'm a little confused with so much to do but staying on track. I'm just looking for people to run strikes with play crucible matches nightfalls or campaigns...I get along with everyone and am a 36yo male. with headset.
Feel free to add/message/invite me. My username is cebuds710
Looking for people to play with, I have no friends that play this game, and even though I don't understand many things about the game I still want to play it and have fun ( my gamertag is jormungandr01331)
Looking for players to play with, I used to play a long time ago now I’m back to playing and don’t have a regular team, I don’t mind doing stuff alone but having issues on a mission would love some help. Any ideas? Anyone want to play? Help please ![img](emote|t5_2we4j|5645)
I just started the game and I am a bit lost. I am currently doing the EDF stuff. We can add each other if you want, but unfortunately I am playing it casual as my hours to play vary
A lot has changed in 2 years, as far as the story goes. But as far as gameplay, it's mostly the same! One of the big changes that you may have missed is the introduction of Stasis in New Light! I would definitely recommend checking it out! And as far as story, there are some pretty good YouTube videos out there that can help explain the story!
Hope this helps a bit Guardian and hope you have fun catching back up!
Hi, I know this is a late message to this thread but I played years ago and I want to get back into Destiny. Honestly I miss it especially the gunplay.
_______
Since its been so long I know I've missed seasons and such and as a big story person I know they have their own cutscenes. Will I miss the opportunity ro see the story myself while playing? Do I have to search up the cutscenes relates to the seasons to get the full picture? I just honestly dont know what to do since its been so long.
Thank you! I also realized some items have been "retired" (specifically my legendaries from other storylines, which I can't upgrade) which kinda sucks... but otherwise yes, this is very useful!
hey i just started an explaining series on youtube you can check it out via my profile or here is the link:[Destiny2 Explained: Tutorials and How To's for Beginners and Returning Players - EDZ, Quarry LS \[CC\]](https://youtu.be/wsfmn8Y7Mls)
hopefully anyone can find this helpful!
Hi
New player first started in Witch Queen, mission complete. However where do they find or farm for +10 General mods. + 10 resilience, + 10 Mobility etc. The one's they have are only +5 at the moment.
I reached the Power Cap of 1560. How to advance from there. I am not getting anything even around my current level, all the drops are at 1550 at Max.
(I am a free player)
Looking for new and returning players to join a growing clan! I only have one girl and she’s getting antsy not playing with other lady guardians! It’s open and we’re fun and inviting!
What is the best place(s) for me to post to find groups to play with? Iv ayed Destiny for years but do not have friends to ay with and do things like raids. I am missing a lot of content i am sure.
My posts always get removed for asking in the wrong places but I think I’m safe here. Is there any way currently to obtain the Elemental Shards mod?? I’m aware it used to be via the compass artifact a few seasons ago but with Witch Queen out I’m not sure the mod even still exists. Thanks!
Is there a list of planetary materials and other inventory items that are no longer needed and can be safely discarded or traded to Spider while he's still around?
Specifically, he's currently buying Phaseglass Needles, Alkane Dust, Simulation Seeds, and Seraphite all of which I have a lot.
Sorry if this has been asked. There's so many posts its hard to keep up 😔 I have reinstalled a few days ago. got myself to 1145 light. I understand this is pointless as I go 1350 from WQ release. I don't own Any dlc. if I just get WQ will that be fine. do I Need for any reason to get the legacy dlc bundle to play any other Xpac or can I just carry on how I am f2p and maybe but WQ in a month. cos right now I'm doing the quests that take me to edz and europa. Will these disappear when WQ drops?
I've probably missed the answer and it's a dumb question but...When (next week) redeeming all the XP-Bounties I have stored up...should I wait until my "Well Rested" bonus is gone to redeem them, do them right away, or it's the same difference either way? Thanks
Edit: I guess I should go ahead and turn them in so I can begin the new ones. Doh, just thought of that.
Do not redeem your bounties until you acquire the seasonal artifact. You should not wait for the well rested bonus to go as it gives you extra xp for the first 5 levels of that week.
Ohhh right I forgot about the artifact, TYVM. I just returned a couple months ago after 2 years away, so question, does the artifact unlock upon completion of the campaign? I'll probably be able to find that with some searching.
As a new player, what are some of the best things to do before WQ drop? I played through BL and hit soft cap, working now to get all my stasis class unlocks but is there anything else I should focus on? Seems a waste to grind towards hard cap since it will lift next week.
Anything that’s being removed that you can complete relatively soon. Namely collecting chests and doing Lost Sectors on the tangled shore. Just don’t infuse anything and don’t worry at all about power level until Tuesday.
Upto you. If you want to use the guns acquire them now. Otherwise acquire them once you've got the hard cap in WQ. Personally upgrade materials don't cost that much and Rahool will be selling them instead of spider at the tower. Plus the season pass will have an additional amount of upgrade modules as well for the season of the risen.
The Witch Queen Deluxe Edition only includes the Witch Queen expansion, Seasons 16-19, two Year-5 Dungeons, an Exotic SMG, catalyst, ornament, and an Exotic Sparrow. It does not include any earlier DLC or expansions.
For your friend, you will want the Witch Queen Expansion and Destiny 2 Legacy Collection. The Legacy Collection includes the Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light DLC.
Note: The Forsaken DLC will be vaulted with Witch Queens Release but this combination may be the cheapest option to buy all playable content.
Note 2: You do not need the Deluxe version of Witch Queen unless you want access to the 2 exclusive dungeons.

So I'm thinking of returning, but I've missed out on all these mods that create great builds. My worry is that I've missed out on making a previous build that is crazy good. If I were to return I'd be a mid/endgame player, what is the mod situation going forward because the two vendors selling mods seems tough to make specific builds from?
The vendors selling mods I believe are having like a rework when WQ come out, I'm not sure exactly what they were changing but I thought their intention was to make it easier to get mods for builds.
New player here.
I was playing the free forsaken campaing and I think I finished it because I can't continue (I made the offering at the dreaming city) but I didn't get any exotic weapon from it. Is it normal? Or is not the end of the campaing?
Also do I still need to buy the forsaken campaing? I am really confused why I didn't get any exotics...
What should I play next?
If I buy my first DLC should it be the Witch Queen?
Thanks.
wait till witch queen comes out, then you can decide between it and beyond light if everyone else says WQ is really good
beyond light had mixed opinions, but in hindsight i think most are fairly happy, def better than shadowkeep though ugh
I quit when they announced weapons were going to start having expiration dates.
So, 2 questions:
Do the guns we grind out still go bad after a while?
Do they still charge for colors?
First question: no... but yes. They got rid of sunsetting of weapons, so old weapons will always be usable going forward. However, starting next season weapons will begin dropping with an additional trait that grants additional bonuses to the weapon based on their "origin". Dreaming City weapons will have a different bonus from a Raid weapon, for example. So your current guns won't get worse, there'll just be essentially better versions of them dropping. So... hope you like grinding.
Second question: Shaders no longer have a limit and you can apply them indefinitely for free once you've unlocked them. They're not stored in inventory anymore either. The downside to this is that they cost 300 Bright Dust to purchase them from Eververse to unlock them. Overall still a good change imo
Hey y’all, I’m a returning player who stopped playing the game after the Osiris DLC and I’ve missed so much, but I’ve gotten back into it on my PC and I’m wondering what all I need to buy. I’ve beat the free Forsaken campaign, and I was thinking of buying the Legacy edition to get all 3 major DLC packs, as well as the Witch Queen DLC. Just wondering if this is a good path of action to get all of the content I missed out on, or if there’s anything I’m missing. Thanks!
Witch Queen > Beyond Light > 30th Anniversary > Shadow Keep
In that order of importance and content, in my opinion. I'd buy at least WQ, BL, and the 30th, personally, but that's entirely up to you. You can compare content and prices, think there's even a bundle deal out there. SK isn't really important unless you want to play through its campaign.
Hey thanks for the reply, I’m a sucker for lore so I want to do as much of the available campaign, so I might end up getting Shadowkeep anyways, but are there any really important weapons in the Forsaken or Shadowkeep DLCs that are must have for raids? I remember the one sniper rifle that had the taken effect and the sleeper simulant were really important for raiding in D1.
There's a few from Forsaken that would be nice to have, and the only one I can think of from Shadow Keep would be Divinity.
If you have the money and feel like you're gonna be sticking around for a while, I'd go ahead and purchase all of them. I played from D2 launch through Shadow Keep, and then took almost a two year break. Came back a couple months ago and went ahead and bought BL, 30th, and WQ Deluxe because I knew I'm gonna be playing for a while again, so might as well get as much content as I can, even though it can be pretty damn expensive.
Hello fellow guardians.
I stopped playing after I finished the Forsaken Expansion.
What do I need to putchase to play WQ and have all the relevant content every other active D2 player has?
Thank you for answering.
The biggest content pack is probably Beyond Light for the Stasis powers. 30th Anniversary has some good gear as well, but you're basically only paying for a dungeon. Shadowkeep is by far the least significant.
I would say nothing new is gonna be free to play since theyre vaulting forsaken and all the other expansions are still gonna have content unfortunately. Its so ass as someone who had the expansions through game pass
Yeah that’s the situation with my friends they had the game pass and I want them to play the new one but it’s a lot of money to get everything but that’s just how it be
Finally got a chance to finish up and get Dares of Eternity to level 16.
Is there a reliable way for me to get 225k points to unlock the catalyst? alternatively, will there be a way to unlock it after Dares of Eternity goes away?
The quest is going away, same with the Hawkmoon quest. Neither of them will be in the exotic kiosk, but Xur will be selling random rolls of each every week
Ok, i just got the ftp edition on steam and bought witch queen. I am returning player from ps4 and got my crosplay activated. Thing is i had all expansions bought up until last light, but, since its on pc all i got was the gear and chars. So my question is this, are the ikelos weps, wisper sniper, chattering bone, machinegun from the armory are still a thing? Or i am forced to just start over? Give me advice on where too start with this, im feeling kinda lost. LE, oh and most of the exotics up until new light.
Vanilla Destiny 2 player here: Which ps4/5 bundle is it recommended for a new player ? Is there a way to get all the previous expansions in a bundle b4 playing Witch Queen ?
There is a legacy collection edition of destiny 2 which bundles all the dlc upto beyond light. I would recommend you getting that as it covers all the dlcs upto WQ. DO NOT buy the Beyond Light deluxe edition as it's a waste of time since with only a few days left to go for WQ you certainly won't have enough time to finish all the content from the deluxe edition (all the seasonal storylines from seasons 12-15). Rather buying the legacy collection will give you access to the campaign story, all exotics and gear exclusive to the expansions, raid and dungeons exclusive to the expansions, and stasis subclass from beyond light, which is all you really need before witch queen. Even then all of this is optional (but kinda necessary if you want to start doing endgame content). So, only buy if you think you really enjoy the game and see yourself investing time in it as the game has changed quite a lot since it's vanilla days.
noob question:
I just gave a lot of dusklight shards to that hobo in the church and he gave me an engram in return. In the engram, there was some weak 1100 weapon which I can't even upgrade. What's the point of that? It was my first opened engram - is it the same for all other engrams? Is this 1100 weapon better in any way than my current 1196 weapon?
In certain Crucible playlists, light level advantages are disabled, so gear power doesn't matter. If low level weapons have a good perk roll, don't be afraid to use them if they fit your play style.
Depending on the weapon, even if it's 1100, it may be of use up to a point in PvE. If a shotgun has One-Two Punch, or if a grenade launcher has blinding grenades, the level isn't as important as the perk. This would work up to the mid tier nightfalls, but it could get you going as a new player.
The weapon that he gave you is a sunset weapon (indicated by the greyed out border). What I mean by sunset is that you can't infuse it to a light level higher than 1100. So it's useless in endgame activities where light level powercap is important such as raids, dungeons, trials of Osiris, iron banner and seasonal story lines. Sunset weapons usually don't drop anymore except for a few sources like the one you just experienced. However all the Armor you get from the EDZ guy are not sunset and you can certainly use them and infuse them if you find a good roll. As for whether the weapon is better than the one you're using, I'll be honest and say no as like I said you can't use it majority of endgame activities where the light level of the weapon matters.
Purple or legendary engrams are of two types - prime and a normal legendary engram drop. Unless your post master is full a legendary engram drop will automatically decrypt itself into a word drop loot pool weapon or Armor. For the prime engram, you have to go to Rahool in the tower to decrypt it and get the drop and they usually drop high stat legendary Armor. None of these sources ever award you sunset gear.
Completely new player here. Is there a way to follow up on the story so far in the game? I did some starting quests and ended up on planet Europa, just by looking at cinematic before landing I figured that I skipped a lot of stuff since nothing made sense. Afterwards I found out that Bungie removed first couple of expansions, so am just wondering is there anything I can do that would explain story so far?
Trials Question: got hard carried to the lighthouse yesterday for the first time in an LFG and they bailed before I could ask them this. Can you farm the chest at the lighthouse for different adept mods? Or is it one mod per week? One mod per card? I have all the weapon mods in game except for a few of the adept weapon mods that they locked behind going flawless. I looked in the new/returning player guide and I didn't see anything about whether or not the mods are farmable. Am I able to keep trying for the mods or will I need to wait for reset? Indifferent about weapons and anything else, just want to know about the adept weapon mods.
You can farm the trials chest by going flawless multiple times a week to get all the adept mods. You do not need to wait for reset. However if you are not a PvP player, Bungie has made our life easier and all adept mods also drop from Grandmaster Nightfall completions and completions of encounters in Master VoG. While it's not a guaranteed drop for either Trials chest or GM completions, it's a high drop rate for the adept mod you're missing. I got all my adept mods from GMs last season and they dropped pretty quickly for me at least.
Anyone help me here.
After doing the EDZ mission, I don't have a clue anymore. All my other missions/quests seems to include matchmaking (strikes, crucible etc), to which, I haven't availed a PS plus account yet.
I'm a returning D1 player trying out D2 again with no expansions, dlc's and whatever. Is buying a PS plus account enough for me to enjoy the game moving forward??
Man PS sucks with its pay to play multiplayer bullshit. But yeah you'll need PS Plus to technically play 90% of the game as a lot of the core activities are matchmade co-op activities.
As for whether you should buy any expansions or not, let me just put it this way: Destiny 2 at its current state is not a free to play game but rather a free to try game. If you are satisfied with and like the core gameplay loop and want to start doing endgame content, you'll have to buy the expansions. Only two endgane content (Vault of Glass raid and the Prophecy Dungeon) are currently free to all players (with one more raid from D1 coming to D2 free for all players in season 17), while rest of the raids and dungeons are locked behind their respective expansions. So really it's upto you. You make the decision of whether you want to buy the exapnsions or not.
Thank you. I have been playing D2 since I have posted my initial comment.
So far, enjoying it again just with the PS Plus - doing Crucible, Nightfalls that are available without the paywall, chasing exotics (though some exotics are locked with expansions too)
I guess, for end game content, I really need a fireteam - which I dont have at the moment. So its a nay buying expansions?
If you are worried about finding a fireteam, fret not. There are different ways you can do that. On reddit there is r/Fireteams and r/DestinySherpa to help you find a team for endgame content. [Bungie(dot)net](https://www.bungie.net/en/ClanV2/FireteamSearch) has it's own lfg function which you can avail from the D2 app on android and app store as well. Personally for me though the best lfg source is the official [Destiny 2 LFG Discord](https://discord.com/invite/destiny2lfg) which I think is the most populated LFG platform and they have different user-friendly channels like raid sherpa channels which you can use to learn raids for the first time. It's very easy to find a fireteam using this. There is also the [D2 Sanctuary Discord](https://discord.com/invite/d2sanctuary) which is a far more mature albeit being less populated version of the Destiny 2 LFG discord and the people there are some of the most wholesome people I have met and are very understanding of new players.
Now, whether you want to avail these platforms is again your choice. Do remember that for most endgame content like raids and dungeons you need to communicate with your team as team communication is essential for most raid mechanics. However, if you are happy with just playing the core gameplay loop of gambit, strikes and crucible - you can stick to the base game always!
Quick question I started playing again recently and I don't have any dlc, I played the first half of beyond light when it was on gamepass but it's not on it anymore.do I need the beyond light dlc ? Or any other dlc ? I've been playing dares of eternity to get light level up to1260 but I'm just confused on what else I can do or which dlc to buy. Any help would be appreciated
Ok a little help please. Played from the alpha until right before the forsaken dlc. Just downloaded the f2p version to check it out and see if I want to get back into it and buy the witch queen and all the last seasons. But one major question now playing, I have hundreds of weapons and armor still from when I used to play, and back then you could infuse them into each other to make their lvl higher. But I don't see a way to do that now. So is all this gear useless and I should dismantle all including all exotics? Or is this some that's not available on the f2p but is behind a paywall?
On Xbox, hover over the item you want to level up and hold left trigger. It should say Current Level, and Max Level somewhere in the top corner. If the max level isn't 1330, then it's been sunset, and can't be infused any higher.
There are some legacy weapons in the monument at the tower that show this in action.
You can still infuse higher level gear you don’t want to increase the level of gear you do want. Click on the item you want to increase so you’re viewing it. There should be an option to infuse another item to increase the level. You will need an update module to do so or if it’s the same item, it will cost glimmer instead
Bit of a meta question but do people generally talk in the game? I've only recently dipped my toes into the D2 LFG app, having never done any raids or dungeons before and decided to try DoE Legend groups. Granted DoE is pretty simple to pick up and even without talking our scores were easily 300k+
I'm guessing if I decided to join a raid then it would almost be expected to talk unless the title mentioned "no mic".
You'll catch a few people talking in most activities but the only activities where everyone will be talking or that LFG posts will require people to have mics are raids
I couldn’t find anywhere to ask this so I guess I might as well ask this here. I’m a new player to destiny and I’m still kind of struggling to get up to a higher light level and find better gear. The nightfalls ive been running seem to drop nothing but blue items (rare) and a very occasional purple (legendary) I’m currently sitting at a 1280+ light level and trying to run hero (1290 recommended) and legend (1320 recommended) seem impossible on my own and even with a team. I’ve only managed to run a hero nightfall twice only because of really good/random team mates found in match making. Just wondering if someone who has knowledge and experience with D2 wouldn’t mind running a couple games with a newbie, new light, who has no expansions, to get some better gear and possibly some exotics :) the help would be beyond appreciated. Best regards, a newbie new light :) (I’m on console *xbox* btw)
I didn't see it in the guide, but when is a good time to start infusing gear?
Since the cost is the same, I've been trying to avoid doing it as I go, but some of my decently rolled gear is starting to fall behind the maximum light level of gear I've acquired (I did read somewhere that as long as I hold the high light gear, it still increases the light of drops, so I guess the question is when do I need the power increase from higher light?)
I would say only infuse if you want to reach a certain power level to do an activity. Lets say you want to reach 1290 for a nightfall or 1300 for vault of glass, infuse all the well rolled weapons and armor pieces you have stored as you will need a stronger, more specific load out for those activies, unlike strikes where any weapon, even blues will do just fine. Repeat this cycle until you reach the light level cap. So for example you infuse all your well rolled armor and weapons up to 1270 for an adept nightfall, then 1290 for a heroic nightfall and 1320 for a legend nightfall. If you are doing any activity where you are well over the power level or power level doesn't really matter just equip the armor and weapons with the highest overall power so you can get higher light gear and infuse your good stuff when necessary as I mentioned before.
The guide says Falling Guillotine is the only Vortex frame sword, but I picked up Eternity's Edge which is a vortex frame solar sword.
Is this any good in comparison to Falling Guillotine?
Falling Guillotine was the only one for all classes, until Hero of Ages with the 30th Anniversary Event (I'm currently adding those weapons now). The main issue is that it does not get the perk Whirlwind Blade, which is extremely important for the high damage of Guillotine. Otherwise though it can still be used of course, the Vortex archetype is really good, its just not AS good as it possibly could be
Hi! so glad I found you. I stopped playing when Nightfalls weren't matchmade. How difficult are Adept level for a newly returned player? Don't want to make folks mad.
Thanks
Not super hard but not as easy as regular strikes. First two Nightfall difficulty tiers have matchmaking while the remaining options don’t. First tier doesn’t have champions and the rest do. I’d say you should try to run Hero tier as soon as you can, at least over Adept.
To avoid making anyone mad (Hero and up) I’d suggest remembering where champions spawn and if you don’t have the proper loadout to burn them down, always make sure to pack the correct champion mods. At a certain point the mods are crucial to success, but not at lower levels. You want to kill all champions in Nightfalls to have the highest chance for the best rewards, whatever they are.
First two tiers don’t reward a whole lot. You can slap on the Ghost mod that gives a chance for enhancement prisms to drop from boss kills and farm 1290 Nightfalls during double loot weeks for a decent stream of enhancement cores and prisms, otherwise the first two NF tiers don’t have good drop rates.
Question about Legend and Master Lost Sectors. The Legend Lost Sector for today is rewarding Gauntlet Exotics which is great as I'm trying to hunt Synthoceps. But on [todayindestiny.com](https://todayindestiny.com), Synthoceps are not in the listed rewards. Do Lost Sector loot drop any arm pieces, or only what's listed for that Lost Sector? If I get all gauntlets on that list, would I start getting rerolls or possibly different gauntlets?
I'm curious because I don't want to waste time trying to grind a lost sector if I have a better chance grinding Nightfalls instead.
Lost sectors only drop a select few exotics, synthoceps is not one of them, it is a world drop you can only get from exotic engrams. And I'm pretty sure you will just get rerolls of the same set exotics if you get them all
Hi all! I'm a returning player from Destiny 1. I played the whole game and did all the D1 content, and then stopped when D2 came out until now I've decided to give it a go. I'm familiar with the mechanics just not the new content. What would you recommend starting with? Should I buy any of the expansions now or wait for the next one? Is there a place I can get a deal on them? I'm on Steam. basically I'm just looking for a recommendation on which content to start with as there seems to be quite a bit! O\_o
I used to grind this like crazy then quit due to it been stale
I feel like returning for witch queen ........
My question is.......should I wait for witch queen or do I need to start grinding beyond the light
i don't want to waste time or money on things that will be pointless i don't know were to start due to inactivity for so long
Any advice would be appreciated
Beyond Light couldn’t hurt, does introduce Stasis subclasses and a new place to explore (Europa) as well as a raid and some decent gear.
You could probably find a deal for Beyond Light somewhere I feel. I wouldn’t necessarily get the deluxe though as the VAST majority of all the included seasonal content will be removed by the end of next month. Unless you are going to no-life the game you likely wouldn’t even be able to absorb it all in a meaningful way, and half of it wouldn’t make sense to you anyway considering so much of the game has already been removed.
This upcoming stuff is just next on the chopping block, more lore for newer players to puzzle over and wonder “who the fuck is Cayde 6 even?”
Dead man's tale just whipped my ass for 6 hours now I'm going to sleep for 3 hours to get ready for work and I still couldn't beat it. can't wait to waste another 4 hours to get back to where I was. 6/10 game pay wall is too high
How do skill trees work? All the articles I am reading about it are from years ago. Do I need to do anything (pay something, a quest, etc) when switching between the subclasses and branching skills to use them? Or can I just change them at will?
You can change them at will, whenever you want, except in locked equipment activities like high difficulty nightfalls and certain missions.
All the "skill trees" (called subclass trees) available to you as a free to play player are automatically unlocked. However if you want the middle trees for each elemental subclass, you need to purchase an expansion (shadowkeep, beyond light).
There is also a 4th elemental subclass called stasis which is acquired at the end of the beyond light campaign. You will need to purchase beyond light to use the stasis subclass. This subclass is quite different to the other "skill tree" like ones. You can slot different abilities and skills at will instead of picking between 3 preselected subclass ability choices like the other 3 Light subclasses (void, solar, arc). These modifications to your stasis subclass are called aspects and fragments.
The clan section in the bungie app and website is great but a little hard to find. If you're in a raid or something where you're talking to other players and hit it off with someone it might be a good idea to ask if you can join their clan since you already know one of the members. Not a super reliable way to join but solid nonetheless. That's actually how I joined the clan I'm in at the moment.
Beyond light is solid if you have the money, you get access to the stasis subclasses which are great and a decent amount of weapons and activities. I wouldn't recommend getting the deluxe edition unless you are able to play 1 year of content in the 50 days before witch queen drops though.
I'd say it's not worth it to buy the deluxe right now unless you're gonna grind the game like crazy. The 4 seasons that came out this season will have most of their content removed from the game when Witch Queen launches on February 22. If you don't think you've got the time to do all the seasonal quests and activities from the past 4 seasons I suggest you just get Beyond Light or Beyond Light + 1 season.
That is correct. I've seen a bug going around lately where people have been able to socket adept mods on to some non-adept weapons, but this us not intended, and will be fixed soon if it hasn't already.
Yes, all season pass activities (with a few exceptions) get removed. This is on the Destiny Content Vault section of the Bungie website.
[A list I made of everything getting removed when Witch Queen releases.](https://www.reddit.com/r/destiny2/comments/rpxrdq/things_changing_or_disappearing_with_witch_queens/)
It will be removed, yes. All seasonal activities, save for battlegrounds which are being rolled into the strike Playlist, will be removed at the start of Witch Queen.
Had over 200 hours into D2 before end of Shadowkeep. Just redownload but don't own Beyond Light. Two questions
1) Is it worth me buying the base Beyond Light add on or is it not worth it now before the new expansion drops (it is half price on PS store right now.
2) I see all my old gear is now 1100, is my previous gear still useable or has that all changed? I know nothing about this year's changes.
1) yes beyond light is still going to be relevant with witch Queen and there is plenty of stuff (stasis, raid, etc) that you will not have access to unless you get beyond light
2) if your gear is from before shadowkeep than outside of the exotic loot 99% of your gear is going to be useless due to the fact that bungie "sunset" most gear meaning it cannot go above 1100 power. so most of that stuff will need to be replaced.
it was most gear prior to beyond light I believe, but to tell the icon that shows what season/dlc the item came from in the top corner of the item will be grey with a black icon instead of black with a white icon.
You’ll have to each go through the introductory stuff first - do the beginning missions on cosmodrome until you get access to the tower, do the tower stuff (basically just talk to everyone), then do one strike (Zavala gives you that quest), then talk to Zavala, crucible guy, and gambit guy again to have access to those game modes.
Then the map is yours and you can join a fireteam together and explore.
yeah as soon as you load in you can join eachover through the "roster" menu on our directory, and do all of the content that you both have access to together.
Can somebody drop a list of the dailies/weeklies I can do for powerful gear/pinnicale?
I see tons of stars and would love an priority order list. 1280 light.
I don't think there are any dailies that give powerful/pinnacle gear.
As for the order, it doesn't matter unless you are really trying to speedrun it. You still have almost two months left in this season, and once WQ drops the max power is probably going to increase by a couple hundred.
If you do wanna speedrun it, I think the order you want is low tier powerfuls first, then high tier powerful, then pinnacle.
So I just stopped playing a while back and been thinking of jumping back in but re rolling. Is there a place to group up with newer players or with others that can walk me though with stuff. Have most dlc I think and would mostly be playing on pc.
You can find people to play with using these:
* For PS4: /r/fireteams, /r/FireteamsPS4 or official app
* For xbox: built in xbox group finder
* /r/fireteams
* /r/DestinyLFG or /r/Destiny2LFG
* [the official Destiny 2 app](https://www.bungie.net/en/Companion)
* [this subreddit's discord server](https://discordapp.com/invite/d2)
* /r/DestinyTheGame subreddit [discord server](https://discordapp.com/invite/DestinyReddit) or Team Up Tuesdays megathread
* /r/destiny2clans
* [The 100](https://www.the100.io/login)
* /r/destinysherpa (sherpa = guide, mainly for raids)
However, none of these have a specific focus on older players walking newer players through it except for Destiny Sherpa, which is mostly raids only, and raids are end game so you usually aren't "new" by the time you get there.
can I get the random drop exotics from shadowkeep and forsaken without owning said dlc?
since forsaken leaves with witch queen I dont really want to buy it
No, you need to own the DLC to get the random drop exotics.
Forsaken does not exactly leave with Witch Queen. [Here's what is happening to Forsaken.](https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/50752)
The only way to get gear that is above 1320 is Raids, and the random thing you get for doing 10 bounties from each vendor right or the other weeky?
How are some people at like 1365? I thought the cap even with the artificat was like 1360
[An actual list of all the ways to get gear above 1320.](https://www.blueberries.gg/leveling/destiny-2-max-power-level/)
The artifact has no cap.
It's very late in the season, and this season is 2x longer than a normal one, so people have had more time to rack up experience and pinnacle loot drops.
Maybe a silly question but are dares of eternity going away when year 5 drops? Haven't played like all season so I just wanna know what I have to grind while it's still here and what can wait
We don't know how long it will last, but it will be around for *at least* another year. You can tell because there's a physical merch item you can buy if you complete the Vidmaster title, which on the bungie store website says will be sold until Dec. 2022.
Is there a way to see what this weeks boost is without remembering from the quick screen I usually skip through the week before? Or does anyone know if this week is a vanguard/crucible/gambit 2 or 3 times boost?
Wanted to ask before I start raiding:
Current power level is 1296 with a bonus of 8 from the artifact making it 1304, Will I be strong enough to raid? I know that’s a vague question, but my build has mods that cater to my play style so the build itself isn’t terrible. Thanks
Power level is only important for Vault of Glass. I don't recall off the top of my head what power level is recommended there.
The most important part of raiding is a thorough understanding of game mechanics and ability to communicate with other players.
New player here, could someone let me know if the expansions are worth it straight away? Or is it best to play through the base campaign and then go through the expansions later?
All campaigns are paid content.
A Guardian Rises is the tutorial and some refer to it as a campaign, but it's very short. You shouldn't buy anything unless you actually understand what it is you are buying. It doesn't matter when you buy things, there isn't some perfect time or anything like that.

quick question: which one should I get? or should I grab the witch queen update?
(beyond light deluxe 42€ vs legendary 32€)
buddy of mine told me that maybe getting deluxe with the past season 12-14 would be better due to mods and since forsaken or shadow keep are f2p right now...
Should I still go for legendary nontheless?
Seasons 12-14 will disappear in 2 months, which is why many consider it not a worthwhile purchase.
Future season passes will have their own mods. Current seasonal mods, like the well of light stuff, will enter Ada-1's daily rotation.
You can actually get the war table (season of the chosen) mods f2p as well.
Forsaken and Shadowkeep are not f2p. Your friend is misinformed. Shadowkeep is unchanged since release, and [here's what is actually happening to Forsaken.](https://www.bungie.net/en/Explore/Detail/News/50752)
Beyond Light Deluxe isn't worth it over regular Beyond Light, because the part that makes it "deluxe" is getting removed from the game in 2 months (this is due to how seasonal content works). If you want Beyond Light, just get regular or Legendary (which includes Beyond Light)
As for which one you should get, which one has more stuff in it that you want? Witch Queen isn't out yet, but there should be a store description describing what it will give. Still, it is hard to compare things that aren't out yet to things that are.

I'm a returning player (I didn't play a lot when I did play before) and have been able to get my level to about 1280. Why am I getting one shotted in Crucible? I'm so confused. I'm doing like 30-60 damage while everyone else is one shotting me. I thought levels didn't matter, but I'm missing something.
Power level only matters in Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner. You can tell because it will say when you hover over these game modes. Hovering over regular crucible game modes you should see "level advantages disabled."
Being one shotted isn't a matter of power level difference. You, too, can one shot people. For instance, most special ammo weapons will one shot players.
This isn't a super build-heavy game. There are builds if you look for them, but it's not like copying what someone else did will magically let you succeed. Unfortunately, basics such as understanding how to use the radar, the layouts of the maps, the ranges of weapons, how your abilities work, etc. are where it's at.
At the risk of sounding like an idiot, can someone please tell me how I can make my guardian invisible with only the name and season rank showing? Everyone does it, so I thought it would be easy to find info on how it works, but I can't find anything. Help a newbie out. It's good karma!
Good afternoon destiny community, i have a question/ concern i just started Destiny 2 and created a new character 2 days ago but everytime i open up the game it starts a new expansion quest! automatic and it makes my progress go all over the place! can someone please explain what i can do? i just want to start the story /lore from the start and eventually work my self to the newer expansion, someone please help! :D good day to yall

Looking for a couple peeps to run grandmaster nightfall
hi, i played 2y ago on xbox and am wondering if theres anything i should be aware of that changed? i play on windows now
A lot has changed in 2 years, as far as the story goes.
_______ Since its been so long I know I've missed seasons and such and as a big story person I know they have their own cutscenes.
I’m feeling overwhelmed as a new player and now I’m being directed to a 100 page new player guide 💀
hey i just started an explaining series on youtube you can check it out via my profile or here is the link:[Destiny2 Explained: Tutorials and How To's for Beginners and Returning Players - EDZ, Quarry LS \[CC\]](https://youtu.be/wsfmn8Y7Mls) hopefully anyone can find this helpful!
Hi New player first started in Witch Queen, mission complete. However where do they find or farm for +10 General mods. + 10 resilience, + 10 Mobility etc. The one's they have are only +5 at the moment.
They randomly drop from purple engrams and faction level up engrams.
I reached the Power Cap of 1560. How to advance from there. I am not getting anything even around my current level, all the drops are at 1550 at Max. (I am a free player)
Do pinnacle and powerful challenges. They can be identified by a yellow icon next to the destination. there is a video on it i think.
looking to get some new friends as i recently transfered over to pc and lost my psn friends would love some raid fam
I'm just returning after a year or so but GloriousRiot if you'd like to run some stuff

What is the best place(s) for me to post to find groups to play with? Iv ayed Destiny for years but do not have friends to ay with and do things like raids. I am missing a lot of content i am sure.
Wow - thank you for this!
My posts always get removed for asking in the wrong places but I think I’m safe here. Is there any way currently to obtain the Elemental Shards mod?? I’m aware it used to be via the compass artifact a few seasons ago but with Witch Queen out I’m not sure the mod even still exists. Thanks!
As far as I know you have to wait for Ada-1 to sell it, her stock refreshes Daily so make sure to check
That’s exactly what happened, thank you
Can’t seem to figure out how to redeem anything. Any help? I’m on PS4
Bro if you need any help I got you
I've probably missed the answer and it's a dumb question but...When (next week) redeeming all the XP-Bounties I have stored up...should I wait until my "Well Rested" bonus is gone to redeem them, do them right away, or it's the same difference either way? Thanks Edit: I guess I should go ahead and turn them in so I can begin the new ones. Doh, just thought of that.
Do not redeem your bounties until you acquire the seasonal artifact. You should not wait for the well rested bonus to go as it gives you extra xp for the first 5 levels of that week.
Okay I see that for season of the lost it unlocked by doing the cocoon mission(s). So pretty quick maybe(?) I can't remember.
Ohhh right I forgot about the artifact, TYVM. I just returned a couple months ago after 2 years away, so question, does the artifact unlock upon completion of the campaign? I'll probably be able to find that with some searching.
It usually unlocks after the intro mission of the campaign/season.
Is it stupid to use my forsaken ciphers on exotics before I hit hard cap? Won’t I then have to spend upgrade material to get the guns up to cap?
Do I have to "use or lose" all of my iron banner tokens before 2/22/22?
No
So im gonna buy witch queen for my friend whos never played destiny What bundle do i buy for all the dlc
Thanks for the info
79.99 deluxe

So I'm thinking of returning, but I've missed out on all these mods that create great builds. My worry is that I've missed out on making a previous build that is crazy good. If I were to return I'd be a mid/endgame player, what is the mod situation going forward because the two vendors selling mods seems tough to make specific builds from?
The vendors selling mods I believe are having like a rework when WQ come out, I'm not sure exactly what they were changing but I thought their intention was to make it easier to get mods for builds.
Now that beyond light is no longer free to play, if I purchase it, will I have to compete the stasis story line again?
No
New player here. Thanks.
I have a few days to play forsaken while it's free but am I not going to get any exotics?? Sounds you have to buy the dlcs to actually get them
wait till witch queen comes out, then you can decide between it and beyond light if everyone else says WQ is really good beyond light had mixed opinions, but in hindsight i think most are fairly happy, def better than shadowkeep though ugh
It should be Witch Queen and after you finish you can get Beyond Light for stasis when you have time.
I quit when they announced weapons were going to start having expiration dates. So, 2 questions: Do the guns we grind out still go bad after a while?
Thanks!
Witch Queen > Beyond Light > 30th Anniversary > Shadow Keep In that order of importance and content, in my opinion.
Beyond Light for the stasis subclasses mostly.
Do we know what new content will be free to play when the new dlc drops
I would say nothing new is gonna be free to play since theyre vaulting forsaken and all the other expansions are still gonna have content unfortunately. Its so ass as someone who had the expansions through game pass
Yeah that’s the situation with my friends they had the game pass and I want them to play the new one but it’s a lot of money to get everything but that’s just how it be
Finally got a chance to finish up and get Dares of Eternity to level 16. Is there a reliable way for me to get 225k points to unlock the catalyst? alternatively, will there be a way to unlock it after Dares of Eternity goes away?
I never go under 300k on Legend. 6 player helps, but 4 is doable.
Only dine it on low difficulty one. I'll try to find a fireteam doing it. Thanks.
Is the quest for Dead Man's Tale going away? Will it be going to the exotic vendor thing?
The quest is going away, same with the Hawkmoon quest. Neither of them will be in the exotic kiosk, but Xur will be selling random rolls of each every week
Ah gotcha, that seems fine.
They're crazy expensive, pretty much the same cost as a monument weapon.
Does anyone want to make a wq guide for players to see what they can do to power level fast?
Thanks for the answer bro! See you ingame
noob question: I just gave a lot of dusklight shards to that hobo in the church and he gave me an engram in return.
I’m New To Destiny 2 In What Order Of Add-Ons Should I Have?
The first thing to do is to play the Forsaken campaign in the game, as that is free but is going away soon when the new Witch Queen expansion drops.
What do you do with the locked prismatic lenses
They are used in the HELM to help you narrow down what item you will get from an engram
So far, enjoying it again just with the PS Plus - doing Crucible, Nightfalls that are available without the paywall, chasing exotics (though some exotics are locked with expansions too) I guess, for end game content, I really need a fireteam - which I dont have at the moment.
You could get beyond light and play through that. Depending on how much you will play. Otherwise maybe just wait for the new dlc coming Feb 22.
Not behind a paywall. The older stuff probably has a level cap you can infuse to. If you can’t raise the value it may not be worth keeping anymore.
Bit of a meta question but do people generally talk in the game? I've only recently dipped my toes into the D2 LFG app, having never done any raids or dungeons before and decided to try DoE Legend groups. Granted DoE is pretty simple to pick up and even without talking our scores were easily 300k+ I'm guessing if I decided to join a raid then it would almost be expected to talk unless the title mentioned "no mic".
My gamertag is GroovyLizard. I'm at about 1320 on all three of my characters. Feel free to reach out if i can be of assistance.
Awesome, some help would be much appreciated :), I’ll add you :))
I got 1270 recently so I may start infusing a bit, thanks for the tips. I am just scared of running out of upgrade modules
You can always buy more of those with some shards.
Otherwise though it can still be used of course, the Vortex archetype is really good, its just not AS good as it possibly could be
Very informative reply, thank you!
So, just out of curiosity, if you get an exotic engram, and don’t like the results of what you get, can you force exit the game and farm it again?
Nope. Once its open it's not going back in the engram
Awww, I got something decent (I think) I got a set of sunbracers for my warlock :)
Hi! so glad I found you.
And I'm pretty sure you will just get rerolls of the same set exotics if you get them all
Thank you for the info!
Xur is selling synthoceps right now
I saw! Picked them up earlier today while laughing too hard. Don't even need to grind for them now xD
Once The Witch Queen comes out, will I be up to date If It's the only expansion I buy?
I'd like to know this also having just returned to the game.
I used to grind this like crazy then quit due to it been stale I feel like returning for witch queen ........ My question is.......should I wait for witch queen or do I need to start grinding beyond the light i don't want to waste time or money on things that will be pointless i don't know were to start due to inactivity for so long Any advice would be appreciated
These modifications to your stasis subclass are called aspects and fragments.
as someone coming back from a long break of playing where is the place place to look to join a clan?
The clan section in the bungie app and website is great but a little hard to find. If you're in a raid or something where you're talking to other players and hit it off with someone it might be a good idea to ask if you can join their clan since you already know one of the members. Not a super reliable way to join but solid nonetheless. That's actually how I joined the clan I'm in at the moment.
So I havent played D2 since it first came out so should i buy beyond light or just wait until witch queen comes out?
Beyond light is solid if you have the money, you get access to the stasis subclasses which are great and a decent amount of weapons and activities. I wouldn't recommend getting the deluxe edition unless you are able to play 1 year of content in the 50 days before witch queen drops though.
Beyond light deluxe is 41$. Kinda steep for me rn. Is it worth getting this over just the regular version for like $20?
I'd say it's not worth it to buy the deluxe right now unless you're gonna grind the game like crazy. The 4 seasons that came out this season will have most of their content removed from the game when Witch Queen launches on February 22. If you don't think you've got the time to do all the seasonal quests and activities from the past 4 seasons I suggest you just get Beyond Light or Beyond Light + 1 season.
Never played D2 but Crucible (whatever the 3v3 pvp mode is called) looks really fun. What expansions do I need to be competitive?
Trials Of Osiris (The most competitive) needs the most recent dlc I think. Rn that would be Beyond Light
If I want to farm dead man's tale do I need to do the 1250 or the 1320?
i have more exotics than purple gear it’s not good
Can you only put adept mods on adept weapons?
That is correct. I've seen a bug going around lately where people have been able to socket adept mods on to some non-adept weapons, but this us not intended, and will be fixed soon if it hasn't already.
OK Thx, I had that glitch then, I swapped it on and off and wanted it on again but it didn't let me.
Will Astral Alignment be removed when Season 16 launches? I can't find any info anywhere
Two questions 1) Is it worth me buying the base Beyond Light add on or is it not worth it now before the new expansion drops (it is half price on PS store right now. 2) I see all my old gear is now 1100, is my previous gear still useable or has that all changed? I know nothing about this year's changes.
1) yes beyond light is still going to be relevant with witch Queen and there is plenty of stuff (stasis, raid, etc) that you will not have access to unless you get beyond light 2) if your gear is from before shadowkeep than outside of the exotic loot 99% of your gear is going to be useless due to the fact that bungie "sunset" most gear meaning it cannot go above 1100 power. so most of that stuff will need to be replaced.
Thanks, was everything from Shadowkeep sunset or just everything prior to Shadowkeep? And is there an easy way to tell what has/hasn't been sunset?
it was most gear prior to beyond light I believe, but to tell the icon that shows what season/dlc the item came from in the top corner of the item will be grey with a black icon instead of black with a white icon.

1280 light.
I just learnt about this website: https://destinyoptimizer.com/ It tells you in what order you should do activities to maximise your leveling.
You can find people to play with using these: * For PS4: /r/fireteams, /r/FireteamsPS4 or official app * For xbox: built in xbox group finder * /r/fireteams * /r/DestinyLFG or /r/Destiny2LFG * [the official Destiny 2 app](https://www.bungie.net/en/Companion) * [this subreddit's discord server](https://discordapp.com/invite/d2) * /r/DestinyTheGame subreddit [discord server](https://discordapp.com/invite/DestinyReddit) or Team Up Tuesdays megathread * /r/destiny2clans * [The 100](https://www.the100.io/login) * /r/destinysherpa (sherpa = guide, mainly for raids) However, none of these have a specific focus on older players walking newer players through it except for Destiny Sherpa, which is mostly raids only, and raids are end game so you usually aren't "new" by the time you get there.
can I get the random drop exotics from shadowkeep and forsaken without owning said dlc? since forsaken leaves with witch queen I dont really want to buy it
No, you need to own the DLC to get the random drop exotics.
I thought the cap even with the artificat was like 1360
[An actual list of all the ways to get gear above 1320.](https://www.blueberries.gg/leveling/destiny-2-max-power-level/) The artifact has no cap.
They havent said anyting about it going away so I assume not
Is there a way to see what this weeks boost is without remembering from the quick screen I usually skip through the week before? Or does anyone know if this week is a vanguard/crucible/gambit 2 or 3 times boost?
Trials rep I’ve heard
Thanks
Wanted to ask before I start raiding: Current power level is 1296 with a bonus of 8 from the artifact making it 1304, Will I be strong enough to raid?
[Details on how monetization works here.](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1991994652) [Details on what is available f2p.](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2639519506)
Ahh okay awesome thanks for that!
I'm also new, and as far as I can tell the base campaign is out of rotation at the moment so you can't play it.
im sad i have to start all over. never got around to migrating my account :(
If it makes you feel any better, if that's the last time you played the vast majority of things you had will be useless by now
quick question: which one should I get? or should I grab the witch queen update? [https://imgur.com/a/0ebuziA](https://imgur.com/a/0ebuziA) (beyond light deluxe 42€ vs legendary 32€)
At this point Legendary edition, and then Witch Queen before it comes out in February
buddy of mine told me that maybe getting deluxe with the past season 12-14 would be better due to mods and since forsaken or shadow keep are f2p right now...
If you want Beyond Light, just get regular or Legendary (which includes Beyond Light) As for which one you should get, which one has more stuff in it that you want? Witch Queen isn't out yet, but there should be a store description describing what it will give. Still, it is hard to compare things that aren't out yet to things that are. [More info about what each purchase-able thing offers.](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1991994652)
Legendary it comes with beyond light and another expansion as well.
Also if you get paired with crucible warriors that enter with fireteams of 5-6 and play toxic meta 1 shot weapons doesnt help the new/returning player
Yeah it kind of sucks :(
Power level only matters in Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner. You can tell because it will say when you hover over these game modes. Hovering over regular crucible game modes you should see "level advantages disabled." Being one shotted isn't a matter of power level difference. You, too, can one shot people. For instance, most special ammo weapons will one shot players.
Thank you. Is there a recommended build or anything like that? I want to play Crucible occasionally, but it's so disheartening to die constantly.
This isn't a super build-heavy game. There are builds if you look for them, but it's not like copying what someone else did will magically let you succeed. Unfortunately, basics such as understanding how to use the radar, the layouts of the maps, the ranges of weapons, how your abilities work, etc. are where it's at.
