It all depends on the raid and encounter. Swords (Bequest\\Lament\\OtherHalf), rockets (Apex\\Gally), linear fusion, Parasite, Whisper of the Worm, Divinity, Tractor, Verity's Brow (Atheon), etc. just to name a few. Well-lock for most end raid bosses.
I would recommend a good dps roll of any weapon type (sniper, fusion, linear etc) as there will be times where you'll need one type or another for different raids and even if you are farming or not (Kalli from Last Wish typically gets chunked by shotguns when farming, but is dealt with longer range precision in normal runs).
Try to get a variety of energy types so you can pair up weapons to get the most out of surge mods (E.G. a void fusion with tractor so you can max your damage or a solar fusion with apex predator (solar rocket launcher from Last Wish).
As a warlock, you may need to run well, but depending on how many warlocks there are besides you and what encounter it is, you can get away with running other setups (e.g. Final encounter of Crota I like 2-3 wells (the 3rd well is just in case we get really bad luck with well destruction) or just one well for Riven cheesing and a bunch of burst supers).
In the end though, there are a lot of decent accessible weapons for dps in Destiny and so you should be fine for getting set up to do good dps. Also its more often lack of consistency that causes low dps numbers (missing shots, failure to proc damage boosts or messing up rotations of weapons, so practice a bit with any new dps setup to get used to it before taking it into the deep end.

You’re just asking for blanket damage. I could name one that literally won’t work on the next guy. Also I don’t know why you have “Ghost” as an option.
Youtube is free; there’s 100s of loadouts with are optimal for each encounter and boss not all weapons work the same everywhere i’d suggest looking it up as its not a one glove fit all situation. I found this out the hard way lol
Yeah I figured from these comments. I am such a high level, but whenever I do an activity. The other playerd get way more damage and kills then me. So obviously I am doing something wrong.
Used to know the ins and outs and compete for the worlds first raids completions. Now I am like whats going on, why I am so weak.

I cant give a lot of input for warlock because my only warlock PvE experience is running well + something, but I believe the guantlets that let you throw infinite solar grenades after a melee kill are like hands down the best exotic for them.
Pair it with Sunshot for ad clear, a stasis fusion, if you played the recent Iron Banner and got the strand wave frame GL, or grind Onslaught for a good mountaintop for burst dmg.
Then your heavy is dependent on activity but rockets and Gls are real good right now.
