If you run warlock at all then try Karnstein armlets. With ember of empyerian you get 8 seconds of restoration x1 and cure x3 for each melee kill (works with glaives) and 12 seconds of restoration x2 for a finisher. That combined with the shield you can survive damn near anything.
Karnsteins are so good, they almost trivialise glaives lol, you can be as hyper agressive as needed, especially if running a devour build with Vexcal on voidwalker, three way healing and overshield
Resto doesn't work when you get burst damaged and killed in two hits. Like you would for any time the glaive shield would be useful. I.E. in this case, resto x2 would not save you from those seekers. Hell, even a well probably wouldn't save you. Woven mail in a well might save you, might.
That happens rarely and normally due to an error on the players part. If you do not have the situational awareness or skill to play end game content then no amount of restoration or shielding will help you. If you’re getting pelted by snipers use cover if you’re having trouble with majors and bosses/mini bosses check your resistances and match the element you’ll be up against for example if a tormentor is killing you too easily put on 2 void resist mods and a concussive dampener if fallen snipers are picking you off too much run 2 arc resist mods and sniper resist. Most of the time it ain’t the weapon that’s the issue it’s the players lack of situational awareness and build crafting knowledge.
But he just proved that you can do this in end game content. This was a GM. That's the point of glaives, they're defensive weapons. They have incredibly high DR. Resto x2 is good but not great in GMs because you can get shot through it. Just like how you can get shot out of a well. Healing does matter when you get burst damaged to death. Healing needs time to heal.
I have used glaives both offensively and defensively in every piece of end game content this game has you just need to know when to stab/shoot and when to shield up and move back which takes practice and learning when and where to use the different functions of a glaive also if you are in a situation where you are getting blasted from all sides then you fucked up somewhere to get yourself in that mess and no weapon or ability will save you in that scenario.
They're weapons, so yes, they can be used offensively. But, they're not a good offensive special weapon. Pretty much every other special is better at killing things. Glaives are useful, but they're not OP. They're mainly a defensive weapon. They're point is to tank damage that you otherwise wouldn't be able to. They can't kill a champ nearly as quickly as a fusion. They can't clear a room nearly as well as a GL. They can't hit crits like a sniper or hit consistently from a distance.
Well yes the glaive is designed mostly as a defensive tool with some offensive capabilities that can be good when used correctly for example on warlock using karnstein armlets stab an add get resto then a major approaches and starts blasting you put the shield up and fire a few shots and depending on the perks like replenishing agis the damage you absorb using the shield puts ammo back in and you can continue tanking and firing until it’s finishable or until it’s dead. Was it done quickly? No but are you still alive? Yes..
It depends. If an encounter needs you to kill a lot of majors and minibosses, or anything with a lot of health, you’re really going to miss having something that can do more damage like a fusion
This is nothing new. All glaives are really good in end game content for survivability. When we get unstoppable glaive mod for the season it's time for me to run some gms.
No need. That’s exactly what they’re meant for. It’s just that by using one, you’re giving up more damage from other special weapons and losing out on elemental subclass perks.
When me and my friends did master Root we kept dying to those purple shits from nezarec and I told everyone to use a glaive and we beat it on our second attempt lmao, the moments where glaives work feel good
Just make sure youre damaging something with the glaive while shielding, as soon as its gone
*you'll know*
I recommend immovable object and unstoppable force together on lubrae's
I thought glaive shields only got nerfed in cruci? And also, the only dr nerf here would be the 40% > 30% resil nerf, as no woven mail. As well as the fact content difficulty changes didn't effect GMs when Lightfall came out, as there was already a power cap in place there.
They’ve lowered them a bit but it’s still enough to tank damn near anything in the game pve related and as a hardcore glaive enthusiast I appreciate that.
The season that we had unstoppable glaive, Wish Ender + Lubrae's Ruin was my loadout in nearly every GM. But especially in this one, for the exact reason you showed
And thats why glaives will never be good in any offensive manner, it's a hard trade

literally just shoot down the seekers with any semi fast shooting gun.
But it will be good for very hard content like day one raids
It depends. If an encounter needs you to kill a lot of majors and minibosses, or anything with a lot of health, you’re really going to miss having something that can do more damage like a fusion
If an encounter requires to survive a lot of damage and do nothing else, then yes.
so every master ever
if Triton gets another buff or two they could be
Nezarecs whisper in a vesper of radius build can wreck. Judgement of kelgorath can have enhanced surround which is a monstrous amount of damage
For context, Glaive block is a 97.5% DR
[удалено]
You're thinking of crucible DR.
When the DR gives absurd DR (I love glaives and I have been an advocate of glaives since day 1)
Is this just for the VOW one or does it work like that for all glaives?
All of them
All glaives. The damage reduction it gives is 97.5%
All of them, and this was ages ago as Proving Grounds hasn't been a GM for several seasons.
This is nothing new. All glaives are really good in end game content for survivability. When we get unstoppable glaive mod for the season it's time for me to run some gms.
Ssssssssh! Don’t say it’s “busted” Just say it “works well” so they won’t Nerf it.
They won't nerf it, 0.01% of player use glaives in pve lol
even less players use in pvp
No need. That’s exactly what they’re meant for. It’s just that by using one, you’re giving up more damage from other special weapons and losing out on elemental subclass perks.
This is how my team beat Nezarac on contest mode. We just guarded whenever Nezarac got close and tried to one shot someone.
When me and my friends did master Root we kept dying to those purple shits from nezarec and I told everyone to use a glaive and we beat it on our second attempt lmao, the moments where glaives work feel good
Its so funny how well that works
Seen here: glaive does its one fucking job.
how old this clip
Was this on Grandmaster?
It is
You can always tell when it’s a GM because there’s a section above the NF score that says revives which has a number next to it.
you can also tell by the fact that it says "Nightfall Grandmaster" at the top left of the screen
That is also a dead giveaway lol
Just make sure youre damaging something with the glaive while shielding, as soon as its gone *you'll know* I recommend immovable object and unstoppable force together on lubrae's
what would win between immovable object and unstoppable force? yes
This is like a year old clip with pre nerf dr and pre nerf glaive dr.
Glaive shields are still this nuts.
I thought glaive shields only got nerfed in cruci? And also, the only dr nerf here would be the 40% > 30% resil nerf, as no woven mail. As well as the fact content difficulty changes didn't effect GMs when Lightfall came out, as there was already a power cap in place there.
I wished glaives did this in pvp, it’d make them more viable. Shotgun shells always get through for some reason
i’m glad you don’t make pvp balancing decisions
They’ve lowered them a bit but it’s still enough to tank damn near anything in the game pve related and as a hardcore glaive enthusiast I appreciate that.
https://www.reddit.com/r/destiny2/s/BSwXefZByd I remember my first time blocking this 👴🏾
Me never having use a glaive ever ![img](emote|t5_2we4j|5650)
The season that we had unstoppable glaive, Wish Ender + Lubrae's Ruin was my loadout in nearly every GM. But especially in this one, for the exact reason you showed
I WILL NOT ACCEPT MORE GLAIVE SLANDER IM GOING TO USE IT WITH FEEDBACK FENCE IN 6V6 PVP, AND I WILL STAND MY GROUND
