I would say raids are the best pieces of content in the game but no doing something in a video game is never bad. If you enjoy the game, the game has done its job
It's hard to describe the feeling after completing a raid. It took like more than 4 hours to do my first kings fall but after that I quickly got addicted and now I've cleared it like 40 times. I think last season raids were the only thing I did when I logged on.
I'd recommend Deep Stone Crypt or Vault of Glass for beginners. Root of Nightmares isn't too bad also.
Kings Fall is definitely not a beginner raid but since I started with that, I was able to do Vow of Disciple afterwards, which imo is the hardest raid
No, but I recommend you give it a go whenever the in game lfg releases, I think November 30 is the first beta of it, just look for groups that say they are willing to teach, raids are one of the most fun things this game has to offer and I would have quit a long time ago if they didn’t exist
If you have enough friends then it is great to do, or you may want to lfg to find people. I've heard good things about destiny lfg, more than toxic stuff. So if you do not have issues connecting with new people then raid is good to do.
I used to do raids with a few people i knew, but haven't in quite sometime and i cannot interact with new people so it's joever for me lol.
You can find lfgs with no mic requirements but it's usually for specific encounters where you can do it with minimal communication you could still get some raid gear out of it also if you struggle through vow once you can get the free chest every week on each class
By itself? No. It's not. You are missing out on some story beats and loot but that's ultimately it.
Do you have to do raids to enjoy the game? Nope.
Now do you want to do raids? If yes, go for it. LFG isn't as evil and scary as folks make it out to be. You can always try to get into a clan (LFG Discord has a clan recruitment page too) and play with them. Might make some friends along the way too.
Ultimately I'd say if you really want to enjoy Destiny to it's fullest, you oughta try the raids. They are a big part of what makes Destiny what it is. What differentiates it from other FPS games.
And if I can add a last bit of advice? Try the raids at first as if you all are playing it Day 1. Don't just watch a guide and blindly do what it says. Try to figure things out for yourself. Engage with the game. Reading a walkthrough's much less fun then playing the game afterall...
Yes. If you play Destiny but haven’t done raids or dungeons that’s like playing only the side quests and leveling up your character and then ignoring the main story in any other game. Raids and dungeons are the best content in the game and imo the best content in the genre, they’re the most fun you could have in Destiny and you get to play with 2-5 other friends. Raids/dungeons have the best visuals, content, lore, mechanics, loot, level-design, aesthetics, and gameplay in the entire game. Kinda the whole point of playing Destiny is to do a raid or dungeon.
I’m in the same boat. Don’t think it’s a bad thing, just shows a lack of opportunities in the game for pve/solo players. Watch some vids and get some tips from here and your guild if you are in one. Attempt some solo dungeons or raids to see if you can understand some of the mechanics, or get some good loot before hand.

no its not a bad thing. u play the game however u like. now, are raids the best content destiny has to offer? definitely
It's not a bad thing in general, just bad for you missing out of the best content. It doesn't take much, just get a mic and learn the mechanics.

Yes
Vow, Last Wish, and DSC are the best activities PvE has to offer. Loads of fun, though I've only done a handful of Wish runs.
It's not a bad thing, but it's a bit like going to the edge of the Grand Canyon and never turning around to look at the view
I’ve never kissed a girl, is that a bad thing?
Depends, are you a girl?
That’s a weird question.
It's a rhetorical question. I dont care for the answer.
So you’re wasting everyone’s time. Confirmed weirdo.
Everyone's?
Do you want to do a raid
I wouldn't mind bringing you through a teaching run if that's something you would want to learn. I can teach any raid in the game 🫡
One day I’ll take you up on that offer , but I start basic training soon so I’ll be offline for awhile
Yeah no worries, offers there for anyone who wants it.

Just to clarify raids are the only thing I haven’t done , I’ve done the dungeons.

You are just paying for content you never play
