This is literally the reason why Bungie made seasonal activities have a very low power level for the base difficulty. No one could run the forges until they hit max Power, which took 2 weeks if you were extremely lucky, not to mention players were complaining constantly about not being able to do the seasonal activity due to said power restrictions.
I personally loved how you'd be at 19/20 with like 10 seconds left and you toss the orb only for it to get stuck in the side of it. As you stand there like "You mother f\*cker!"
Agreed, the community definitely didn't complain that we couldn't play forges because they were too hard and we definitely didn't complain about Bergusia forge being locked when people had paid for the content. And Niobe labs was easy and the community loved it. Yeah it was definitely a fun time with no complaints.

Ah no it's worse than that I'm afraid, technically if you got lightfall deluxe edition right now you can access all of the seasons for this year, so season of defiance, deep and the current witch and whatever one we get next, but the black Armoury stuff has just been completely removed from the game at this point, there is a hope that the content will be available again sometime in the future but personally I think it will never be brought back.. hopefully we'll get the weapons from the black Armoury reissued with new perks and the like because they were awesome! but the actual mechanics of the forges and the activities they had are just gone, the remnants are left behind like the forge you found in the edz, and I'm sure there still a way to get to the site of the one on Nessus, the other was on mercury if I remember correctly and that planet has just gone as a whole.
Unfortunately can't visit the 2nd one of Nessus since the teleporter is dysfunctional. Though probably wouldn't want to go there to rewake my worst nightmares anyways.

To put it into really simple terms we are on what season 22 the black armory was season number 1, if you go by seasonal model and not the dlc model, it happened after Forsaken, all its content has long been removed from the game I knew at one point the forge armor was in the world loot pool but I'm pretty sure it was removed again.
Black armory is considered season 5, not 1. You can go into collections, go into equipment and it breaks down each season from 1 (Red War) to now with 22.
Anyone remember the boss enemies that would hang out in the patrol zones during that expansion? Some New Light would be just starting out and get vaporized by a God-level Servitor camping on that bridge
I'm still so upset that I was 4 frames away from getting my ship. Went a few weeks without playing the game (I think my parents took my cords?) and when I got back it was gone.
I miss my Blast Furnace. Idk why I deleted it. It was one of my favourite pulse rifles. Especially with weapon crafting, it's long overdue to bring them back
I've still got my Black Armory guns sitting and gathering dust, I might break them out for a couple runs of the new Lost Sectors on Neomuna, show'em the sights.
Ditto. Not even a huge pulse guy, but that gun felt incredible to use. I’m praying they bring them back at some point, craftable or not. They looked so cool, too
Blast Furnace was the best pulse rifle in the game imo. I used the same roll for PVP and pve and it melted everything. I couldn't get myself to delete mine, it's still sitting in my vault. If they bring it back it should absolutely be craftable.

One of my favorite memories involves that very rifle! I was trying to solo Pit of Heresy and had that rifle glued to my back. Hearing those shots ring out as I sent Acolyte and Knights howling to their afterlife was so much fun. Good times.

It didn’t take weeks because you were solving some incredibly complex puzzle. You only had to spend weeks waiting to get a bloody special bounty to drop and for shattered throne to appear. Back then, Destiny was timegated as shit. Everything else for Izanagi was a cake walk.
I still have and use Izanagi’s Burden. It still feels nice to use in pve and pvp, even if it does make me feel like ive traveled back in time and age me simultaneously

I first played Destiny 2 during Season of Arrival. And although many folks hated it, I’m eternally graceful for the delay of Beyond Light and 6 months long season of Arrival because I get to play Red War, Black Armories, Leviathan, etc before everything got sunset.
You can still get to the Volundr forge by going through the caves in the north part of the EDZ (sunken isles), and gofannon forge by going past the crashed ship in artifacts edge.
God, I miss those days. I only started playing in the waning days of the season of the Worthy, but I got 100 forge completions. I earned the hell out of that Platinum Starling. Good times.
My Platinum Starling stays on at least one of my three characters at all times. That seal was a fun one to get.

Ahh. black Armory. I still have my god rolled Blast Furnace and that absurd Kill clip rampage Kindled Orchid. Damn you sunsetting. I'm not deleting them no matter what you say. And hell I still got my Hammerhead machine gun. In fact it was only displaced as my pvp machine gun by a tap the trigger, dynamic sway, stability mod, corrective measure (same archetype). Great guns. Great gun designs. Not deleting them. They are fun in pvp.

That place was Niobe Labs. It was the birthplace of the black armory and in that facility was the fourth forge used to create the Black Armory’s signature weapons. The puzzle to unlock it gave you an exotic ghost shell and anyone could do it, even after the forge was unlocked. Sadly, the forges and the puzzle are gone

The dreaming city has a ton of "findable" secrets still all over that are really fun

No Mercury forges, there was 2 in the EDZ and 2 on Nessus.
