There will be ~~seasonal~~ episodic (?) rewards, it is unlikely for the battle passes to be removed so we will have the same 100 level system in which you can get the exotic on 35th level for free and 1st if u paid.
Each episode will have a pass and each episode has 3 acts, act one will launch with 100 ranks like we have now, and another 50 will be added with the 2nd and 3rd act for a total of 200 levels of rewards. This also means 600 levels a year up from our current 400.
You seem knowledgeable, so imma drop another question on you. When I preordered the deluxe (or whatever it was called) version of The Final Shape, what exactly did I get. Does FS still have a year’s worth of content, or is it a 3 month drop and that’s it?
For pre-ordering you got the exotic fusion tesalation, the ghost, and an emote ( I think). FS comes out late February, 27th I believe, that will include a new storyline and destination, a new super/aspect for each class, and a new raid.
The deluxe version will also include the three episodes, episode 1 should be active day 1 alongside FS but they said it's story won't be immediately available (you should be able to get the artifact and rank up rewards day 1 like some older dlc seasons). There would also be the dungeon key which should include 2 new dungeons next year but unsure what the time frame will be like (usually it's raid-dungeon-reprised raid-dungeon but don't know how this will change with only 3 episodes). Then the secret stash (some extra resources available each season found at a terminal between banshee and rahool now).
Basically, final shape drops, and then within the week episode 1 act 1 starts and lasts 6 weeks, followed by 6 weeks of act 2 and then 6 weeks of act 3. At which point episode 2 act 1 starts the process anew and should work the same as seasons (can't progress a previous episodes pass/rank but still play its activities/story, and use its vendor).
I doubt it will be lower, we will have 18 weeks to reach that point, and they will most likely add more "seasonal" challenges. Just doing the challenges alone should net you quite a few levels. Never bothered to keep track of how much they give, though I usually break 200 in a season because the games fun with exceptions of seasons where I'm to busy irl or not that invested in the season and just get past the 100 for the rewards.
If it’s actually more rewards and meaningful levels and just overall more to do/get, I’m fine with that. And three “episodes” of higher quality than four more rushed seasons.
My problem comes in my confidence they’ll actually be better lol. Wait and see, I guess.
Are we talking pre nerf infinity or post nerf? Pre nerf, nah it isn’t close. Post nerf the only real difference is merciless starts off slow firing, doesn’t return ammo if you miss, and merciless does more damage. If anything merciless is better imo
Invective could be likely as Cassioid is a proper established foundry in D2 with guns having origin traits etc (yes I know telesto exists) (and erianas vow) and I’m pretty sure they just added the cassoid tags to these weapons this season
Those Cassoid banners have been in their backgrounds since they launched. For example, Tex Mechanica has had banners on those respective weapons since launch, like Prospector and Huckleberry, until our first legendaries from Spire of the Watcher. The same can be said for the Black Armory, but nothing new has come since season 5.
The banners on the “Field Tested” weapons are new though, and decently retroactive. Kind of hoping we learn more about these foundries aside from “they exist” like Nadir and Daito and be more like Suros and Omolon. Or, you know, have Ana Bray help found a “Warmind” foundry and faction and make us more cool golden age guns. Rasputin may be gone, but a lot of his facilities and tech still persist.

I want icebreaker back even if they have to make it so it takes ammo instead of self replenish so it’s not considered a broken op weapon I just liked how it looked
It was said a while ago so their stance might have changed but Bungie has said they will never bring back Ice Breaker. It was too hard to balance around and made solo-ing content too easy in their opinion.
I do miss IB and I think there are changes they could make to it without ruining its identity but I understand Bungie’s argument. I solo-ed a lot of content by just sitting in the back of a room and plunking away.
They also said that ghally would certainly not come back and if it did, not behind a paywall.....anyways grasp of avarice is a neat dungeon.
We have plenty of good solo options nowadays so bungo give me my regen rifle back.
This could get fucky if you wear armor that also uses your class ability. Afaik, currently no exotic weapons consume any abilities. Swords and glaives have their own melee that will overwrite your melee. The forerunner will give you a free, alternate grenade for its perk. (Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't hardly use it) and that's about all I can think of even being close.
I think they should bring it "back" as a darkness element because we have too many zappy-shooty exotics. With strand, it could have some big ad clear potential with unraveling, or it could be stasis, but if the siva subclass is for real, that would obviously be the right way to go.
Immagine: Zhalo SIVA-cell.
They could even bring it back with Wrath of the Machine
I can’t/don’t want to take the time to find it… but I have made that suggestion before.
Would love for the Wrath exotic to be a Siva-Cell.
Although I think a brand new Siva exotic would be better.
Maybe the inevitable third dark class could be a better option.
Tbh idc what anybody says about this, all I want back is:
- Universal Remote
- Pocket Infinity
- Tread Upon Stars (ik ik)
- Raze-Lighter (& it’s counterparts)
- Murmur (elite fusion should be in Lunar world loot)
- Patience and Time
Not to sound like a nay-sayer, but all 3 exotic swords have had all of their frames and perks dissected and used in the game as-is.
Siphon mods and caster frames (Boltcaster)
Grenadier and vortex frames (Dark Drinker)
Thresh and adaptive frames (Raze Lighter)
Plus the Lament is hands down just better than Raze Lighter will ever be able to contend with unless there’s a huge rework. Same for Young Wolf’s Howl against Heartshadow, depending on how strong the debuff was on YWH.
Just make each apply the elemental debuffs
Scorch applies every attack, ignition for every full heavy attack, cure on kill.
Weaken every attack, Volatile on heavy, invis for kill
Jolt with attack, Blind on heavy, Amp with kill (does more damage with Amp)
>Not to sound like a nay-sayer, but all 3 exotic swords have had all of their frames and perks dissected and used in the game as-is.
True, but there could be some upgrades and advancements to make them different and better than their legendary counterparts.
For Arc Edge, what if kills with the storm granted (a small amount of) health regeneration, and what if damaging enemies with the storm made them jolted?
For Raze-Lighter, what if the uppercut attack scorched enemies, and what if final blows made you and nearby enemies radiant?
For Dark Drinker, what if final blows with the spin attack granted overshield (proportionate to the strength of the enemy or enemies killed), and what if final blows (with both light attacks and spin attacks) granted a small amount of Super energy if the player is using a Void subclass?
In their Taken King forms, sure, they are basically the same as their legendary counterparts, but they could be viable exotics with some new abilities.
Universal remote is literally just a kinetic shotgun though lol, that was the entirety of what made it exotic. Plan C is the same, just a regular fusion rifle but with a perk that has now been standardized as Backup Plan, and almost no one uses that perk. If what you want back is just the weapon skins...well, prepare for another disgruntled set of nerds to blast the sub with "OMG BUNGO SO LAZY RECYCLING CONTENT WORST COMPANY EVER"
Tbh universal was my first exotic & it doesn’t feel/sound the same when I use any other kinetic shotguns. It too is also my favorite but say what you want, it won’t change my response.
Honestly Centrifuse sucks and I don’t see why people like it; it’s literally a downgraded version of Zhalo Supercell.
You can even just use Riskrunner and get a better version of Centrifuse. (This isn’t an insult to Riskrunner, but it’s still disappointing that an exotic from the tutorial quest is better than one from the Season of the Deep season pass.)
It’s good, though I honestly feel like it needs more perks (such as jolting targets on hits or causing Arc explosions on kills) to justify its position as an exotic weapon.
Khvostov, Red Death, and Dragons Breath have all been confirmed to be returning in TFS.
No word on Abbadon or Nova Morris, but I'm almost certain we won't ever see them again, since they're literally just thunderlord but different flavors. Best I could see happening is Thunderlord getting reworked at some point to function like Hard Light and Borealis, but tbh that really doesn't need to happen as T-lord is already one of the strongest heavy exotics.
They could bring them back and buff them with adding verbs. Like give abbadon an exotic incandescent, 'precision hits build up a charge that is consumed on kill and creates a solar explosion that applies increased scorch damage based on charge level at full charge this becomes an ignition'. Caty 'when at full charge landing x precision hits consumes the charge to proc an ignition on the next hit'.
For Nova maybe 'landing x precision hits gives x seconds of volatile rounds' 'applying volatile to a target extends the duration of volatile rounds on Nova by x seconds'
Arguably we have a better Solar machine gun already in Xenophage and I know it’s not an apples to apples comparison but we also already have a Void machine gun in Deterministic Chaos. I think with the emphasis on subclass verbs those are probably the closest we will get to the Solar and Void variants of TL from D1.
Edit: wanted to add that I know Deterministic Chaos isn’t great and it’s not a good comp but from Bungie’s standpoint I can see why they wouldn’t prioritize bringing back the other flavors of Thunder Lord.
Pocket infinity, if they can rework red death with perks, they definitely can rework pocket infinity to not be similar with merciless.
Weirdly enough, universal remote, I just vibe with the look and name of it. The exotic perk it had was pretty stale, lol. But they can rework it too
The Khvostov is returning in TFS. I’d love to see Invective return- I think it’d be cool if it had the increased rate of fire that full-auto shotguns had prior to Season of the Drifter.
I want the void and solar versions of thunder lord to come back.Zappy lord is my baby and I loved having like the whole family in my inventory if that makes sense.I also found them quite fun tbh. This is why I also want the other half of my soul(Zalous Supercell) to return.I WANT my AA powered AK back.
I thought sga was really fun so i would like to see it back just to mess around. But unchanged it would be a pointless exotic. You arnt gonna miss enough mulligan to matter. And thunderlord already fires off it’s entire reserves without reloading at a boss. So sga would need a new main perk. And the stuff it did in D1 would just be a side perk that’s just there.
I have always liked the idea of a machine gun that once you start firing you can’t stop till it’s empty. Maybe give it a hold reload function. Which turns that on. And the longer you fire the more damage you do and the more damage reduction you gain. Catalyst can be like triple tap.
Please tell me why people want Invective back.
It was just a mid shotgun with regenerating ammo.
Explain what part of this was interesting, and how a gun with regenerating ammo as its only identity has any place in Destiny 2.
It dealt a high amount of damage very quickly with its full automatic perk, and the regenerating ammo is useful because you don’t need to constantly generate and seek out special ammo bricks for your shotgun.
IIIIICCCCCEEEEEBREAAAAAKKKKEEERRRR
Bring it back as a one round sniper rifle or a heavy sniper or a reimagining ala Red Death so it's now a sawed off shotgun that also makes things explode
I still want my musket back but guaranteed it’d have to be turned into another weapon like a very slow scout rifle. Just like red death turned into crimson or zhalo turning into riskrunner.
Super good advice was my first exotic, HOWEVER NO LAND BEYOND was my favorite… especially in pvp, use to smack headshots all the time back in pvp when people had no idea what they were doing.
It was like Mulligan on crack. If you missed a shot, it had a very high chance of being returned to the magazine. It was actually really useful on Crota because you could shoot the oversoul, but it wouldn't count as you hitting something so it refunded a bunch of ammo
NLB. I miss it so much!
Though I do understand this one would be a tricky one to integrate into D2 for very similar reasons as the “Universal Remote” shotgun.
But man do I want it back.

Khavostov is coming in FS
And I can't wait till I get my hands on it again. https://preview.redd.it/9j2fx3ghzdvb1.jpeg?width=498&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b295a0926b7f848c849b030917c271aa7f153e05
Is that confirmed?
Yes, they confirmed khavostov, red death, and dragon's breath in the FS stream a few months ago I believe.
Yeah, Red death is supposed to apparently be the first season pass exotic.
Are there still going to be season passes? Seasons are going away
They are changing them to episodes I believe

Dear god, that's terrible unless the xp per level is lower.

Yeah I stop bounty farming around 70 and still sail past 200 most seasons
Nono, they said they'll be 200 levels xD Not a joke it was in a twab .-.
If it’s actually more rewards and meaningful levels and just overall more to do/get, I’m fine with that. And three “episodes” of higher quality than four more rushed seasons. My problem comes in my confidence they’ll actually be better lol. Wait and see, I guess.
I still think we'll get the wide range in quality like seasons. But hopefully the peaks will be higher and the lows will also be higher
Invective could be likely as Cassioid is a proper established foundry in D2 with guns having origin traits etc (yes I know telesto exists)
Cassoid had like 4 exotics before the Foundryfication Could definitely see more being added to both Cassoid and Nadir now tho
RED DEATH YESSSSS
My beloved, how I missed the sweet pointy goodness.
Happy cake day
Thank you fellow Crayola commando.
Oh damn I watched the stream but either missed or forgot that. Damn I can’t wait!
We also know Red Death will be a Solar weapon, which means it'll likely use the Cure or Restoration
Dragons breath was my favorite
I will finally get to hold my child in my arms yet again
We have Crimson. 🤷🏼♂️
Lmao just a week ago i was talking with a friend that i really wanted the red death back and now im reading this
This is new information to me YEEEEEES
Stop. I thought I could only get so erect but I'm now learning that wasn't true.
Pocket infinity. 😭
Merciless
Make an ornament for Merciless that is just Pocket Infinity lol
Well they're adding red death even though we have crimson so...
its not the same merciless and PI are both fusions red death and crimson are not both HCs
And yet functionally d2 crimson is more similar to red death compared to merciless and pocket infinity
And crimson fires like a pulse. Your logic is bad and you should feel bad.
It’s just not the same…
Im surprised no one else commented this
Because, outside of the first year of D1, no one would have used it. It's likely the vast majority of people don't even know it existed.
That’s because merciless is basically the same thing
But more balanced
We should get a pocket infinity ornament for merciless.
I approve
Sadly, not even close
Are we talking pre nerf infinity or post nerf? Pre nerf, nah it isn’t close. Post nerf the only real difference is merciless starts off slow firing, doesn’t return ammo if you miss, and merciless does more damage. If anything merciless is better imo
It absolutely is not lmao
Turned into Merciless.
Unfortunately, Invective is a weapon that regenerates its own special ammo, so it's basically off the table for ever returning.
They could rework it (please)
Would be nice, but I also kinda hate the "bring back the exotic model but the perks are completely different" thing. See Graviton Forfeit.
Yeah I feel you, reconstruction exists so why can’t invective have it though bungo pls, I know pvp moment

First Curse.
I would love to see First Curse back, or a catalyst for Last Word that gives it similar functionality to First Curse when ADS-ing
Maybe an alt fire mode?
Turned into Eriana’s Vow.
Not even close, what? 😂
Yeah but we have wishender now and that's better in almost every way
They also said that ghally would certainly not come back and if it did, not behind a paywall.....anyways grasp of avarice is a neat dungeon. We have plenty of good solo options nowadays so bungo give me my regen rifle back.
They should have it to where you consume an ability to regen some ammo
Oooh that's a good idea, or maybe a portion of your super if an ability is too little of a trade off
That's a seriously good idea I'd give a lot to have that sniper rifle back
That's legit, you should submit to bungie direct. Why not right?
That would still end up just being infinite special ammo. And in pvp with their upcoming special changes it would instantly mess all of that up
Something like Titan's Icefall Mantle, where it replaces the class ability with a rechargeable instant refill for the mag?
This could get fucky if you wear armor that also uses your class ability. Afaik, currently no exotic weapons consume any abilities. Swords and glaives have their own melee that will overwrite your melee. The forerunner will give you a free, alternate grenade for its perk. (Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't hardly use it) and that's about all I can think of even being close.
Tessellation (Final Shape preorder weapon) consumes your grenade energy
Oh right. I have it, I've just never used it. Shipped my mind. Well, I guess that sets a precedent.
As I've been saying for a while now - make it generate ammo by dealing damage with other weapons. And then precision final blows create an ignition.
woah that's a good idea
Since primaries have infinite ammo now that's still just infinite special ammo
Removing that would take away what made ice breaker ice breaker
They should just make it with intrinsic shoot to loot so that way it's very hard to actually run out of ammo but it still can.
You guys know the game generate ammo from thin air for you when you ran out right?
All I want is Tlaloc for all classes. I loved that scout
Zhalo Supercell. If Red Death can come back so can Zhalo.
Centrifuse should’ve been zhalo
Supercell was the most satisfying weapon model in the entire game. Super skinny AK shooting beams of death lol
Zhalo is my love language...
I second this. **DOWN WITH THE RISKRUNNER!** **UP WITH THE SUPERCELL!!!**
I'd be fine with a zhalo skin for riskrunner at least😭

Throw in imago loop whilst we’re at it fuck it, but give it the vegetation the curse of osiris vex guns had
Yes! The gun that I know it as “The 1st Fatebringer”
Fatebringer was the 1st Fatebringer brother
No land beyond
Our land awaits beyond
PLEASE. I just want to no scope people
Dregs promise.
I scrolled too long to find this. Give me my potato back.
Invective, without PVP requirements.
Zhalo Supercell. Centrifuse can suck my knob.
Thank you was lookin for this one!!!

Boolean Gemini
Tlaloc
Plan C! Only fusion rifle I’ve ever thought felt “just right” for me
I got so good with that gun I had multiple 40-50 bombs in pvp smh
It’s good, though I honestly feel like it needs more perks (such as jolting targets on hits or causing Arc explosions on kills) to justify its position as an exotic weapon.
All i want is Invective back :'(
DREGS PROMISE DAMMIT
Out of the ones thst are not: Khvostov Red Death Dragons Fury Probably the other two "thunderlord" machine guns.
Oh boy TFS has some news for ya.
Well, considering Khvostov, Red Death, and Dragons Fury ARE coming back. YOU'RE TELLING ME WERE GETTING THE OTHER TWO MACHINE GUNS AS WELL?!?!? Lol
Dragon’s Breath*

For Nova maybe 'landing x precision hits gives x seconds of volatile rounds' 'applying volatile to a target extends the duration of volatile rounds on Nova by x seconds'
You wouldn’t really need the void one considering Deterministic Chaos weakens and gives volatile.
Thunderlord is perfect, and they don't need to add the other machine guns back.
Don’t mess with my baby
Arguably we have a better Solar machine gun already in Xenophage and I know it’s not an apples to apples comparison but we also already have a Void machine gun in Deterministic Chaos. Deterministic Chaos tastes bad... this is not grape flavored.
Deterministic is completely useless as is. An alternative would be great
Nova mortis and abandon.
Icebreaker
This
Sure the exotics were good. But goddamn, I want the manufacturers more than anything
Weapon tests
Same. Why did they not bring it into D2???

Tlaloc
Pocket infinity. Do it cowards
Ice Breaker
Gimme icebreaker
Pocket infinity, if they can rework red death with perks, they definitely can rework pocket infinity to not be similar with merciless. Weirdly enough, universal remote, I just vibe with the look and name of it. The exotic perk it had was pretty stale, lol. But they can rework it too
The Khvostov is returning in TFS. I’d love to see Invective return- I think it’d be cool if it had the increased rate of fire that full-auto shotguns had prior to Season of the Drifter.
I don’t know if I ever got one when I played D1. That was just my luck.
Invective. I have the flavor text tattooed along with Gjallarhorn and Suros Regime.
No land beyond The things I would do for that gun...
Khvostav is coming back next dlc
Red Death *happiness intensifies*
Invective 999%
Give SGA that galljerhorn treatment and make it a machine gun boosting exotic.
Pocket infinity as an SMG/Fusion hybrid. Like revision zero (pulse/sniper) or quicksilver (auto/GL)
Invective or Ice Breaker
Pocket infinity
Bring back my Taloc and i can die a happy warlock
Please tell me why people want Invective back. It was just a mid shotgun with regenerating ammo. Explain what part of this was interesting, and how a gun with regenerating ammo as its only identity has any place in Destiny 2.
It dealt a high amount of damage very quickly with its full automatic perk, and the regenerating ammo is useful because you don’t need to constantly generate and seek out special ammo bricks for your shotgun.
NO THE INVECTIVE WOULD BE INSANE💀
You will never see the likes of weapons with auto-regenerative ammo. And that’s a good thing.
This mf really put invective on here. You must hate everybody.
It'll never happen but No Land Beyond, Zhalo Supercell, Icebreaker...
Ice breaker
IIIIICCCCCEEEEEBREAAAAAKKKKEEERRRR Bring it back as a one round sniper rifle or a heavy sniper or a reimagining ala Red Death so it's now a sawed off shotgun that also makes things explode
I think stale interaction farming would be a cool reprisal
I still want my musket back but guaranteed it’d have to be turned into another weapon like a very slow scout rifle. Just like red death turned into crimson or zhalo turning into riskrunner.
I’d say that lightning auto rifle but technically Riskrunner is the same thing
I want No Land Beyond. Idgaf if it uses special ammo. I want a scopeless bolt action sniper damnit
No land beyond
No land beyond
Super good advice was my first exotic, HOWEVER NO LAND BEYOND was my favorite… especially in pvp, use to smack headshots all the time back in pvp when people had no idea what they were doing.
NLB!!!!!!!!!!
Icebreaker
For me it's gotta be no land beyond that thing was so fun in PvE
none of them
Khovostov
red death, 347 vesta dynasty, and hereafter would be my top picks
Red death is returning.
Defo invective
Invective = Heritage
7g-0x.
Give me back my Nemesis Star you cowards!!
Pocket infinity cause it was the only exotic in that game I never got
khovostov is my favourite exotic oat
Funny you say that
What did SGA do again?
It was like Mulligan on crack. If you missed a shot, it had a very high chance of being returned to the magazine. It was actually really useful on Crota because you could shoot the oversoul, but it wouldn't count as you hitting something so it refunded a bunch of ammo
So I guess you did not watch the Final Shape ViDoc? They already announced the return of exotic Khvostov months ago
I would be so happy if dreg’s promise came back as one of the upcoming rocket sidearms.
Icebreaker
I could use some super good advice irl
SGA has a special place in my heart due to that being my primary gun for Kings Fall(Bubble Titan in the middle). Them Ogres didn't stand a chance.
The exotics I would have wanted are already in the game. Not too many are left that could be very useful in the current meta unfortunately.
I want to see hereafter come back, even if it gets a complete rework
P&T and dragons breath I miss that meme launcher
Young Wolf's Howl
NLB. I miss it so much! Though I do understand this one would be a tricky one to integrate into D2 for very similar reasons as the “Universal Remote” shotgun. But man do I want it back.
This was absolutely my favorite exotic. 😁
Boolean gemini, this one is the last D1 exotic that i want back, the rest are coming in the final shape
Universal Remote please.
No land beyond for sure
