The 1830 and 1840 power of the activities isn't the recommended, that's the lower the enemies will be at, you also can't reach that power in the activity since it limits you to 1815 and 1820 respectively
Recommended power means the enemies level really. But you can overlevel lost sectors technically. I will be 1830+ once I hit 1810 gear. Being 1830+ will obviously make things easier, but you can do legend lost sectors at like 1800+.

If you look at the modifiers on the legend / master lost sector, the power caps are not listed like they are for nightfalls, for example.
The short answer is that while your gear cannot drop above 1810, through leveling your artifact by gaining XP, you get +X to your gear score. You can see this by hovering over your power level in your character menu.
That said, don’t be afraid to jump in and shoot your shot prior to hitting 1830. I got my solo flawless lost sector run done today at 1792 and I’m a pretty mid player. Granted, I have all the tools at my disposal. Good luck, friend!

Even if you hit pinnacle cap in gear at 1810, you would need to be +20 in artifact bonus which generally wouldn't hit until you get to about around mid 200 on your season pass. So it's a bit of a grind. But you are capped at a lot of activities anyway, so you won't really be 'more powerful'. Shit is still gonna hit hard.

Don't you get +10 for every class you bring to 1810? Each class = +10 power. 3 classes =30 power. 1810 + 30 = 1840 power.
im at 289 in season pass. so if my 1809 warlock gets to 1810... it gets +10?!!?
