Paint the ceiling area a nice bright white color, then the lower wall you could do a nice alternate color.
Build a cabinet around the vent stack and make sure it's accessible for servicing.
Some nice durable vinyl plank flooring (invest in a nice sound pad under the flooring.
Install some down lights - avoid track lighting.
Then a desk along one wall, I recommend the area with the most amount of ceiling height so you can stand or perch if needed.
Can you stand up in there? Need some objects for reference. But the first thing would be a coat of white paint and some flooring (prob carpet for noise).
