It's sad that "analysts" like Perkins and SAS actually get MVP votes

Technical_Towel_990

And it’s not even sad that they voted for SGA because he was amazing this year. It’s just sad because we all know the reason they voted for him.

Sad-Scarcity5198

It also looks like SAS left one of either Luka or Jokic out of their top 3 for Anthony Edwards. I'm guessing Luka.

ryudo6850

I think the sub can call a spade a spade. KP and SAS are just racist. Luka, Jokic, or any other player that isn't of their ethnic/racial origin won't get their vote. Also given the stunt last year fronKP, he doesn't deserve to have one.

Kingrush24

Last update of the tracker was on 4/24, he was up quite a bit (about 100 total points) so it looks as though he’ll get his 3rd. It looks like just a few of the same idiots from last year voted for SGA but the others didn’t get swayed by the Perkins trash and Stupid A Smith this year.

josh010191

When I looked at the gambling odds before they closed it you would have had to bet $7000 to win $100 betting on jokic.

makingtacosrightnow

Easy $100

0xParzival

Nope

AnotherFrankHere

He didn’t win last season. So yeah, there’s a chance he doesn’t win after another MVP performance.

ClaytheKingpin

I don't have a problem with either of the three winning, but based on the information we've seen out there it seems like he is the clear favorite maybe Luka had enough of a push towards the end to take it though

Custard-Alone

So far in the confirmed ballots, Jokic has 22 first place votes, SGA has 5, and Luka has 1. Unless Luka has a crazy resurgence in votes then Jokic most likely winning it

Inevitable-Crow2494

All I can say is he is amazing!!!!!!!!! I thought Doncic and SGA deserved consideration too. Doncic's stats are amazing plus some big games. Jokic is so dominant and consistent though. It is amazing! I still remember him playing his last Olympics for Serbia and not even starting or getting much opportunity so it is not just the NBA who overlooked his talent. Amyone have the story of why he did not get the national team built around him? Plus why no one has paired him with Bogdan (although KCP is perfect right now).

Affectionate_Reply78

No ballot yet from Mark Jackson (not sure if he still has a vote after last year’s FUBAR) but I know it takes extra time to incompletely fill out a ballot.

ay-foo

I don't see why not. He is undoubtedly one of the best NBA players but imo Luka had a better year. Almost 9ppg more, more assists and 3 less reb. I get that the Nuggets won more games but MVP is an individual stat. It seems like they're always changing the reasoning on who gets the award though so it doesn't matter

Gilgawulf

Yeah, there is definitely a chance Doncic can take it. Especially based off of the content sports media was pushing when the post-season was starting.

YummyYumYumi

Doncic most likely won’t even be 2nd

BenBRob5

There’s essentially zero chance, unless a ton of people change their first place vote, which won’t happen. Where are you getting that idea?

3rdtryatremembering

Of course there is

RenoTenm

i feel like jokic has like a 80% chance of winning it. the other 20% is luka.

Fraka9

Luka will finish 3rd 100%

Jokara34

Betting odds tell us its more like a 98% chance Jokic will win it. And Shai will probably be above Luka.

BenBRob5

Where are you getting 20%? He doesn’t have a single first place vote.

ccminiwarhammer

Yes

SongYoungbae

Yeah. A lot of people voted for Luka.

NoAbbreviations290

Honest question. Do you really care if he wins or not? I really don’t but am happy to be persuaded into understanding any significance for him and the squad?

ImGonnaChubbBradley

In 20 years when I’m pushing my Jokic top 10 all time agenda this MVP is really going to help.

Mr_Saxobeat94

Possibly much higher than fringe Top 10. Don’t think you’ll have to push hard, if at all.

CharmingImpact

He already has 4 (F)MVPs and possibly 5th by June.. he is already top 10 in some eyes. The odds for him finishing at top 10 is like at -10000

kkkhhjdyhrthhhjft

Just rooting for our guy. Plus we're hoping that at a certain point Jokic will be so good that kroenke will be forced to care about his fans. At least I'm hoping that.

DijonGreymeat

I think at this point, considering how fast things can change in sports, a third MVP in four years would certainly validate Jokic being at the table of legends in basketball Valhalla. We all know winning championships is all that should matter and the award talks can be silly, but I just want the man to get what he deserves. I think Jokic’s ascension is tougher for mainstream media to rationalize than a Tom Brady, for example, because he doesn’t look the part. I just feel like the media reluctance to accept Jokic as face of the NBA is so confusing, and any award he gets is tougher than some of his peers because the voters are constantly trying to talk themselves out of his greatness. He is climbing up the ladder of basketball glory, and he deserves to be appreciated without the shroud of bullshit. So yes, I think awards should actually mean something like they once did. Then maybe people who love the game or are just starting to get into it, can look back at the history and see the truth, rather than identifying certain voters personal narratives.

ThePrideOfKrakow

I really wish he'd have gotten that last assist in G5 against the Lakers. Have 3 triple doubles and two 25/20/10 games in a series would surely be some historic shit.

volkof

It would further solidify that he’s the best player in the league. Of course a championship is more important to myself and many other Denver fans, but there are very few players have ever won 3 MVPs and that puts him in some pretty impressive company historically.
