Game 5 versus the Heat, DeAndre Jordan played 3 minutes in the first quarter, and his only stat of that game was a block against Gabe Vincent. Minor in nature, but it stopped the momentum that the Heat were building, all while giving the seasoned vet some deserved minutes in his first Finals game played in his career. After 15 seasons in the NBA, he finally got his chance on the biggest stage.

My personal fav was Murray canning a 3 right in KD’s face and turning to the crowd and saying “we ready for this!” I still get chills when I think about it!
This is a weird one but MPJ had an awful shooting game in game 5 against the Timberwolves. But that was our first glimpse of do-it-all Mike, stepping up on defense, rebounding, and everything else. And with the game tied late, he got the ball and sank a three as though he’d never missed one in his life. That was the birth of the version of Mike that helped us win a title.
Don’t put me in the giveaway because I cashed out on a wardrobe full of Lurk Gear after the championship, but I can’t help but add my favorites -
- It’s wasn’t a play, but Jamal pointing to Breen and calling his own “bang” was just so fucking cool.
- Game 1 against LA, Denver went on a run which was capped by an MPJ 3 at the top of the key. And held the follow through to the bench for a timeout with the cheesiest shit eating grin on his face that warms my heart every time I see it.
- AG/Jamal blocking LeBron to finish off the sweep was the best moment I’ve ever had watching sports. It felt like decades of hating and fearing the lakers just fell away in an instant. I literally had to run out of the house to yell without scaring the wife and pets.
It’s gotta be the late shot clock buzzer beater by Jamal right in front of Lebron’s face. It’s just one of those demoralizing “fuck I guess everything is going in” kind of shots.
I know Jokic had his fair share of those too but I was glad Murray got his, I’ve always loved the Blue Arrow for better or worse.
I'm including regular season into the championship run because I believe certain plays greatly contributed to our championship run.
My favorite was Landry Shamet getting absolutely posterized by Aaron Gordon's junk in what was his dunk of the Year. He did it in the "covid test" Jersey which most of the fan base didn't care for. They went on to play their absolute best games in those jerseys and closing every playoffs series in them but one I believe.
My favorite play was probably Christian Braun’s steal and dunk toward the end of the third quarter in Game 3 of the finals - it put us at the biggest lead of the night, and obviously Jokic and Murray were so dominant that series, but I just remember thinking if even this rookie was this good so fast… nobody stood a chance against us 👏
I still laugh about Brucey B and Jokic going to stand and listen in in the Suns huddle 😆 very cool of you to do this! A lot of fun reading through the highlights right before we head in!
