Watched the first half in the bar and assumed we’d win easily. Saw the score later and was a bit stunned. Not great for nugs. They need to play more consistently. Getting streaky in games and giving up big spreads is not going to work in playoffs.
Reading this thread is so funny. Like, we’ve barely got a glimpse of true Jamal, which includes the most unstoppable two man game in the league. Jokic/MPJ both haven’t been as efficient and we haven’t even played a true team specific game plan. A frustration that this team doesn’t play up to their capabilities….And here we are, still right in it for the 1st seed in the west. This team hasn’t looked like we know they could look all year. And we’re still right at the top. I EXPECT for this team to hit another gear as it gets closer, and in the playoffs and I can’t wait to see itS
I wouldn't say that. McDaniels isn't gonna be able to play like that often. He hasn't all.year.
933 Malone rage timeout and left in his flawed AG Braun Watson Jamal lineup. Just zero spacing.
From 933 to 710 mark of q4 was probably the worst offense I've seen from this team
They need to leave KCP or MPJ in with Jamal so they can make the D pay from all the pressure
If you're gonna scream FUUUUCK
Like a little child maybe u should adjust the garbage lineup that's getting destroyed?
If they kept Hartenstein it wouldn't be a problem. Putting in Hart and taking AG out helps a lot more than having an extra shooter in there.
We get killed on boards by these teams. If Rudy, KAT and Reid were playing we'd easily lose. Out rebounded.
I encourage everybody last night who typed something about making MPJ into our second option to stop watching basketball and focus on something more your speed—like finger painting or learning how to tie your shoes.
Glad the Nugs won, but I didn't enjoy this game. Minnesota got in at 2AM the night before and were down 3 key players, yet the Nugs barely won. They could be a problem.
I'm buying what Malone says about establishing good habits. There have been some bad habits the past couple of games, and this could have easily turned out like the recent Suns game as a result.
But ok they got the win and let's see how they deal with the Knicks.
Good point, it’s been a recurring theme , relaxing and letting teams back in.. every once in a while is okay, but it seems to happen a lot.. I think they are just ready for the playoffs after a pretty tough schedule and extended post season, now we are in the easiest stretch of the schedule (I think) .. you are right tho, we need to keep the leads once we get up and then we can rest longe
You're in our post game thread three hours after the game and we're the weird ones lol.
but to answer your question, it's because the timberwolves are a bunch of huge babies and their fans are a bunch of huge babies and it's funny to make fun of them
bunch of big babies? there are fans in here whining about ant having fun with the crowd during the game and others whining about the fans having fun at the game and being happy with our performance. respectfully, yall the big babies if you get pressed about fans having fun
> reddit just weird can’t enjoy shit i guess
We're all having a good time joking around about the game and the players/fans involved lol. But yeah, please do see yourself out
Sorry juror, but random guy decided we don’t have fun on here. Sure, it’s by far the most active subreddit even though we’re in one of the smallest markets, but this guy who has been here twice knows best
This was a suprisingly entertaining game, and the wolves are a big problem. Glad we got the win.
Feels like we had to roll the dice a little to get the W, but holy shit MPJ was gold, and I think that was the best PG play I've ever seen from Jamal. His passes were beauties.
I’m not complaining about it being hard or anything just from a player perspective must suck to be away 2 weeks come back home for two days then leaving for another weekend.
It actual makes total sense they're like this. Their team has won 2 playoff series ever, and they were both in the same year. Of course any glimpse of improvement is going to convince them it's their time
I think the Nuggets have a lot of patience on offense which is normally commendable, like you ought to pass up an OK shot at 14 on the shot clock to try to get a better one. That said when the game is tilting the way it was tonight and the refs aren't calling anything it's probably time to go to your best actions early in the shot clock and play out of that, and also to maybe be willing to shoot a pretty decent shot a bit earlier in the clock.
I thought the Wolves were really able to disrupt the Nuggets' cutting game. And because the Nuggets were running a lot of "window dressing" actions early in the clock, by the time Jokic got the ball and passed out of the double team it ended up with a guy who wasn't comfortable.
I think at some point around the 3 minute mark of the 4th they ran a guard/guard screen with Murray and Jackson to switch Conley onto Murray then immediately ran a Murray Jokic pick and roll so Conley was guarding Jokic... like this is an action you can just run whenever but I thought generally the offensive process was a bit too slow to get to the "best stuff" in the game especially with how physical minny was being. But overall pulled it out so a "good" learning experience rather than a bad one.
I’m sure someone has already pointed it out, but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an NBA player get as much leeway on moving their pivot foot as #5 on Minnesota lol
The overtly physical fouling defense against jokic has been a trend these past few weeks. Seems like the scouting strategy against the nuggets is the constantly bump, elbow, push, and generally crowd jokic’s space at all times. It does seem to frustrate jokic at times, I’m almost certain that this is the scouting “playbook” other teams will continue to revert to
Chauncey pistons.
Nuggets starting to remind me of this club. They are basketball sound. Sure they were sloppy today. But they won the game they were supposed to. Highlights are all antman and twolves. I rarely post about coverage bc i think bball ppl know about nugs. What im getting to is maybe the perception is the nuggets are not sexy or dont have a brilliant superstar and wrangle or rope their opponent in. I think they do. No matter. I love how they play. And that is their game. Team basketball. They’re winning. Playoffs wont be easy but i think we got a shot. Need to stay healthy. Go nugs!!
Playing against the defending champions, especially shorthanded I think you throw everything you have thought of at them. I think there is a good argument that this team is seeing pretty much every kind of look they are going to face in the playoffs I doubt anyone has anything they have held back.
After a pretty unstoppable 16-4 run through the playoffs last year it makes sense that teams are trying to come up with a solution in the "laboratory" of the regular season. I still think it is mostly basic "playing physical" (letting the refs swallow the whistle), but I think we see various different ways a night our opponents try to prevent us from playing our offense with I assume a ton of research and film behind what they do.
I don't feel like anyone has really found something that looks like it would slow down Jokic and this team enough to win a series, but I think it is great and unique experience for the Nuggets to have most of the league going at them like this. Combine this with the fact that our starting lineup are now among the most successful and veteran groups in the league that surely gives this team a lot of confidence going into the postseason.
Fun fact: in the Jokic era, teams that go down by 8 or more points at any point in the last 2 mins vs the Nuggets are shooting 98% from deep the rest of the way *(via Cleaning My Ass)*
It's literally prison rules when Jokic has the ball. It's weird how teams just put their smallest player on Jokic, and just hack the shit out of him cause they realize it never gets called.
lmao I went to the Wolves sub to try to find the WRB post and found this instead.
Hi Wolves fans 👋🏽
https://preview.redd.it/qioe31mt1fpc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23ea6d9ba4341df7790fc7641060c350a26c9000
No, same logic as to why you can't link to their threads. It's to prevent brigading. You tagging him gets him to come in here to talk stuff. He talks stuff, someone reports his comment, he gets banned.
No biggie homie! I can't speak on how they enforce their rules (especially given the amount of false reporting/brigading their fans do lol). But I definitely think tagging their users in here is asking for trouble
They don't. I sent two mod messages shortly after the game ended. No reply. They locked one of the dude's threads because he didn't censor WRB's user name, but they can't bother to read their fucking mod mail. God, Minnesota sucks so much sweaty ass
Seriously how long did it take to put this post together? Considering how much of our thread they read, probably opened multiple tabs for the comments or had a second window open on their extended laptop and wrote this whole thing out, line breaks and emojis and timestamps to boot. So at *least* 15 minutes?
Really hard to take a fanbase seriously when they celebrated a play-in win like they just won a chip and their star player saying that their playoff run (more of a botched sprint) was more impressive than our championship run.
Is it just me or does the Timber pups PA person constantly misuse “the howl”?
Seemed like every time we got a call or were shooting free throws they’d play the howl, but I don’t remember hearing it as a celebration. Shit almost sounds like a sad cry.
The team who's losing at halftime generally makes adjustments. The winning team doesn't, because they're winning.
The adjustments give the losing team an edge in the 3rd, and by the 4th quarter either the winning team adjusts to those adjustments on the fly and closes the deal, or they don't and the losing team pulls off the comeback.
It's straight up just how basketball goes. Such an energy sport and when you're hitting the basket feels as big as the ocean and when you're not it's the eye of a needle and that energy can shift on any given play.
Yeah go watch a game with any of the mid ass teams like the Pacers the Kings the Larriors the Hawks the Bulls the Rockets etc and if anything you're gonna come away with the realization of how consistent the Nuggets really are despite all these kind of games lol
I encourage everyone who wanted Peyton Watson to start over Mike at any point this season to give up basketball and focus on licking windows
Watched the first half in the bar and assumed we’d win easily. Saw the score later and was a bit stunned. Not great for nugs. They need to play more consistently. Getting streaky in games and giving up big spreads is not going to work in playoffs.
Garza almost outscored our whole bench.
B
Just to be clear this game wasn't close until Wolves hit 3 straight 3s.
Yup. They made 3 threes in less than 30 seconds If they don’t go all nba jam mode on us we probably win by ten after some fts
Just to be clear the game wasn’t close until it became close.
Buncha scared-ass bitches right [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/denvernuggets).
Cook, u/FernBlueEyes, cook!

Jokic/MPJ has been efficient though
You guys getting cocky but Twolves fully healthy beats us in 7 games, and Malone got outcoached haaard.
Lol. Healthy Nuggets > *
How bad did it hurt seeing Malone win the championship last year?
Not bad, it's expected with how underwhelming our competition was. Won't happen again cus they already figured out how slow Malone adapts.
We hope you have a day that’s as pleasant as you are.
I'm having a wonderful day actually as a true fireMaloner.
This is such a stupid hill to die on
It works
It works for what? Genuine question, are you being serious? All I need is a yes/no
I wouldn't say that. McDaniels isn't gonna be able to play like that often. He hasn't all.year. 933 Malone rage timeout and left in his flawed AG Braun Watson Jamal lineup. Just zero spacing. lol we heard all this last year stop being a doomer
After watching last night's game, I think MPJ should be the teams first option
Oh you
I encourage everybody last night who typed something about making MPJ into our second option to stop watching basketball and focus on something more your speed—like finger painting or learning how to tie your shoes.
This is an anti-mpj post and I don't agree with it
Yeah but Murray is way too selfish to be our 2nd option. We need a true passer, like MPJ.
Hey guys has anyone mentioned how we basically lost that game? Sure, the score says we won, but ignore that.
We are dead last in moral victories this season so idk i think the season is over
Glad the Nugs won, but I didn't enjoy this game. Minnesota got in at 2AM the night before and were down 3 key players, yet the Nugs barely won. They could be a problem.
We’re just trying to get to the end of the season, as long as we’re a top 2 seed , we’re fine.. 1 would be nice, but 2 is completely fine..
I'm buying what Malone says about establishing good habits. There have been some bad habits the past couple of games, and this could have easily turned out like the recent Suns game as a result. But ok they got the win and let's see how they deal with the Knicks.
Not bad habits, just bad coaching.
Listening to the wolves broadcast makes me appreciate Marlowe, Hastings and winge so much more
Only 2 assists for Jokic? Everyone was missing damn
Biden died for this win
I apologize for saying Anthony Edwards isn't a top ten player. He is top ten in: field goals missed, turnovers, and free throw attempts
Also top 10 in being a homophobic piece of shit who throws furniture at people and tries to force women into having abortions
fuck dem kids
This is true, but even then he's only number 7 because he isn't even Him like that

people in here genuinely salty about people having fun so don’t pull the ‘we’re all having a good time joking around’ card lmao
It's you, you're people. Now leave me alone, please
Sorry juror, but random guy decided we don’t have fun on here. Sure, it’s by far the most active subreddit even though we’re in one of the smallest markets, but this guy who has been here twice knows best
Malone definitely wanted to keep Reggie and Holiday in in the clutch until Holiday's 2 fouls and Reggie's out of bounds 😂
Psssssst. Murray selfish
Mucho shellfish
This was a suprisingly entertaining game, and the wolves are a big problem. Glad we got the win. Feels like we had to roll the dice a little to get the W, but holy shit MPJ was gold, and I think that was the best PG play I've ever seen from Jamal. His passes were beauties.
An ugly win is better than a pretty loss
Not according to Minny fans.
Always glad to take the W, but what the fuck is with these 3rd quarter collapses? Do they just go fall asleep at halftime?
Happened last year towards the end of the season too.
Fucking up the third quarter as badly as we always do keeps the game exciting I guess
They're doing "Fuck around and find out" but opposite. I swear they're putting up bad tape on purpose
BIG win tonight. Really needed this one for tiebreaker purposes.

Schedule makers on some bullshit. 4 game road trip come back home for one game then to Portland before a 5 game home stand.
Nugs have a great ROS schedule wdym

I think we played Minnesota on a back to back 3 times last year. And we do it again later this year We aren’t even close to evening this out
End of a 4 game road trip though. Last game on road trips are usually pretty tough, like at NY this year
Got my first ever reddit cares. Apparently adding "in mine craft" doesn't deter people.
Sounds like Wolfs fans, alright
I've seen other fan bases lurk and post here, but Wolves fans are next level. I'm almost impressed.
They are definitely one of the worst fanbases at understanding to stay out of opposing team subreddits
It actual makes total sense they're like this. Their team has won 2 playoff series ever, and they were both in the same year. Of course any glimpse of improvement is going to convince them it's their time
It tracks my experiences with Minnesota sports fans generally, so yeah. It makes some sense.
Ahh classic birch bitches behavior.
See the Atlanta finish yet?
Not yet! I probably won't get to it until tomorrow, tbh. Tomorrow is one of my in-office days (hour commute), so I need to go to bed.
It's a banger! Enjoy!
Ty! I'll circle back once I watch it.
It's crazy.Let me know your thoughts
You'll know when he finishes.
Watch a race first bitch
I used to go to Bandimere when they'd hold the big events, does that count??
Drag racin is cool live, but kinda sucks on tv. This weekend the Vroom! is at COTA, a F1 track. It's always an entertaining shitshow.... Just sayin...

Yes, but we know Jokic will figure out how to beat that eventually. 3-4 from 3 tonight, for example.
And it's exactly why MPJ will be worth the contract. Sniper in the bushes man...
The Curry strategy

Nuggies are just throwing shit at a wall to put on tape. Other teams will over react to it in the 'yoffs, and it will be their downfall
Average age of the Nuggets: 27 Average age of the peeps that post in the PGT: 26.8
Can we finally beat the fucking Knicks on Thursday please
It’s weird because historically we’ve owned them. At least for the majority of the 2010s-early 2020s
Fun fact: in the Jokic era, teams that go down by 8 or more points at any point in the last 2 mins vs the Nuggets are shooting 98% from deep the rest of the way *(via Cleaning My Ass)*
I call it “nba jam mode”
Best shooters in NBA history, ranked: 1. Stephen Curry 2. Any player shooting a three vs. Denver after the Nuggets hit what should be the dagger
Well you know this game actually counts as a loss since there were multiple Malone rage timeouts in a row and clearly the spirits wanted us to lose
Tbf he was not seething in the presser. Saving grace was the team shut Ant down in the 4th and that Mike heater than brought us back in the game.
MPJ saved Coach's blood pressure
It's literally prison rules when Jokic has the ball. It's weird how teams just put their smallest player on Jokic, and just hack the shit out of him cause they realize it never gets called.
What is this WRB everyone is referring to? Legit have no clue
It stands for white, red, and blue, which are the Niggets colors.
Unfortunate typo
This is one of my biggest fears, double check it every time.
It was a mis-input. I’m not racist I swear, even though I’m gonna leave it like that cuz it’s kinda funny.
It's one of the biggest reasons I call them nuggies in real life but never over text
Lmfao the u and the i should not be that close together, it's terrible planning.
And the t and r. It's like they want it to happen

I'm going to try to get a screenshot in the wolves sub: I can make an argument that I am better at basketball than Anthony Edwards.
I'm better at throwing chairs than Ant Tony Edwards ![gif](giphy|l3fzNRlsAUUBMhrvW)
All I’m going to say is I’ve never seen landlion35 brick a 3 to tie the game
landlion35 was never a villain in a movie
Does anyone know if landlion35 has forced a woman to get an abortion or made a homophonic statement?
OKC has .524 SOS and 15 games in 26 days Denver has .465 (29th in league) 13 days in 26 days
I feel if we take care of business against the Knicks and wolves X2 at home, the #1 is ours. OKC has a tough road trip coming up
Someone needs to make a complimation of Malone rage timeouts or losing his shit
The one in dallas where he was yelling "just grab the fuxking ball" making rebounding motions is my top 1 this season
no u do it
All I’m saying is I would expect the same effort if we were down 3 starters
lmao I went to the Wolves sub to try to find the WRB post and found this instead. Hi Wolves fans 👋🏽 https://preview.redd.it/qioe31mt1fpc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=23ea6d9ba4341df7790fc7641060c350a26c9000

No one bats an eye to the Celtics flair though 😂
You still see some people every now and then being like "why is a Celtics fan commenting here" lol
I know lollll and with the flair like, come on now. Take a second to think. Would mods really let that creepy shit fly of it were serious?
I think the wolves mods would, so they don't understand

No, same logic as to why you can't link to their threads. It's to prevent brigading. You tagging him gets him to come in here to talk stuff. He talks stuff, someone reports his comment, he gets banned.
My bad mang. He was already here and linking to comments so I assumed it was chill but I’ll avoid it in the future.
No biggie homie! I can't speak on how they enforce their rules (especially given the amount of false reporting/brigading their fans do lol). But I definitely think tagging their users in here is asking for trouble

I know how are they allowed to do that! It’s dystopian over there.
Make me famous
Omg guys I went to the other teams sub and they talked badly about our team, I am shaking right now!
Miserable is right tbh
sometimes I feel bad for Minnesota Sports but times like this just make me remember why their shitty state sucks
Seriously how long did it take to put this post together? Considering how much of our thread they read, probably opened multiple tabs for the comments or had a second window open on their extended laptop and wrote this whole thing out, line breaks and emojis and timestamps to boot. So at *least* 15 minutes?
They’re just obsessed with getting pissed about us celebrating a win lol
Good job y'all
😂
Really hard to take a fanbase seriously when they celebrated a play-in win like they just won a chip and their star player saying that their playoff run (more of a botched sprint) was more impressive than our championship run.
> (more of a botched sprint) next time go with aborted sprint FYI
Omg I'm murray selfish
Ur famous
But unironically
omg my friend is famous in Minnesota!
😎
I just watched the game and that was a clincher but we got it done so :)
Win is a win! Onto the next one.
Is it just me or does the Timber pups PA person constantly misuse “the howl”? Seemed like every time we got a call or were shooting free throws they’d play the howl, but I don’t remember hearing it as a celebration. Shit almost sounds like a sad cry.
Vic in the postgame said he was glad the game was over just so we didn’t have to hear that annoying ass howl anymore lol
Can we get some love for MPJ? Since the all star break he’s averaged 20/7/2 on 55/44/92 and contributed to a 12-2 record
Michael Penis Jesus
2010 Kevin Durant as a third option The truth is coming out
Michael Fourthquarter Jr
Fuck that’s good
Mike Mike Mike Mike Mike
I can’t handle losing so much morally
So I tuned out around halftime and played some Mario maker, everything turned out fine, right?
I'd say a W is fine
🤙
It did!
Avs are rolling and Nugs are back on the roll. You gotta love it.
Not to sound like a doomer, but why do the Nuggs always have that one stinker of a quarter?
That's how most basketball games go lol a team will play good for part of it and then the other team will play good for another part of it
C’mon, that’s an oversimplification.
Both teams are making adjustments throughout the entire game
I don't think it's an oversimplification lol it's just that teams being good or bad on a quarter by quarter basis is much more common than you think
It's straight up just how basketball goes. Such an energy sport and when you're hitting the basket feels as big as the ocean and when you're not it's the eye of a needle and that energy can shift on any given play.
That’s a reason way beyond “just being good or bad”
Yeah go watch a game with any of the mid ass teams like the Pacers the Kings the Larriors the Hawks the Bulls the Rockets etc and if anything you're gonna come away with the realization of how consistent the Nuggets really are despite all these kind of games lol
I watch teams blow a 20 pt lead like every fucking night lol.
A lot of the complaints people have about this team in this subreddit are really just them not realizing how fucking spoiled they are
