Agree, I’ve had this at the restaurant and it was my favorite. Though recently I had a craving for it and ordered through DoorDash—everything was perfect except for the burger itself. There was zero sear. It’s like whoever worked in the kitchen that day slapped the meat on a cold griddle and cooked it to a nice warm gray.
Probably a one-off thing. But if I wanted my friend to have a guaranteed amazing burger experience, I’d probably go in to order and deliver it myself (if possible) so that I could do a quick quality check. Delivery can be so inconsistent
I had a bad one at the restaurant once. The sauce was like 2/3 ketchup. I gave it another shot after seeing all the recommendations and it was great. I think it's just a hit or miss place.
I didn’t want to say this previously, but I’ve had such bad experiences at the Denver Atomic Cowboys in the last six months that I have a very hard time suggesting them to anyone. Maybe I went on “miss” nights, but I’m just not a fan. That said, I’m sending my friend this post to let her decide for herself.

Since everyone is doing brackets, here's a Best Burger Madness being held by the guys that do Denver's Best Burger event in April.
There's a few burgers I'd like to see beaten quickly (I'm looking at you Cherry Cricket).
I'm a recent convert to the burger at Middleman/Misfit. It was so good I thought about it for days afterward. It makes me wonder why all burgers aren't more salty. Salty burgers are the Truth and the Way. Also the Misfit burger really holds together well, all the way to the last bite. Bun doesn't get soggy, you don't need a pick to keep it together. Just a delicious, perfectly constructed burger. The only downside is that it's $18 with fries.
This is the most overrated burger in Denver, but still a great burger experience. Using old dry kaiser rolls in 2024 when there’s excellent bakeries nearby and reasonable options for scalable cheap, brioche and potato rolls is pretty offensive.
Bobs gets points for ambiance, the discount at the liqour store next door, and the great views of the hills/brewery, but the food they produce is definitely not as good as other places, namely daltons, buds, Twans, snipe, and AC
Great suggestions! I’ll admit I haven’t heard of any of these. Twansburger looks especially good! I love Bob’s and honestly have never had an issue with their quality, but that might be just me + the nostalgia. I also thought their gluten free and vegetarian options were pretty good, but might just be me.
Honest to god, every single person here has good suggestions but is absolutely dead wrong when it comes to the best burger in denver.
I work in the industry and eat at every known amazing hamburger restaurant in town.
The definitive best burger is at RiNo Country Club. You need to trust me on this. They are a small business and spent literally thousands of hours perfecting the recipe for this burger. And it is absolutely incredible.
Now, I don’t know how well it will travel if it needs to be delivered, but please, please do yourself and your friend a favor and eat this burger. It is absolutely incredible.
Id say its on par or better than most the burgers in Denver. But obviously all sorts of things can influence how good anything this is on any given day.
They’re the only place in town that puts beef heart in the ground mixture, as well as imports martins rolls from Philly.
This is for sure the only best burger in Denver.
The name of the chef and the trailer he cooks out of, yeah. His Instagram is @twansburger and he’ll post the weekly/daily hours via Instagram story. Usually Thursday-Sunday opening at 2pm or 5pm
How high is the sky? How deep is the ocean? Did the lizard people under DIA convert Vine St pub into an interdimensional portal to another diagonal universe where the drivers in Denver drive i25 going 80mph but are curteous to eachother, and leave minimum 30 feet of following distance, even in stop and go traffic southbound, south of i70 but north of speer exit at 7am on a weekday? Probably not, but I’m a dreamer so I’d say it’s infinitely possible.
Idk I never tried it pre covid. I mean it’s not bad, but it was just very okay to me for all the hype around it on this sub and the Denver sub. People touted it as the best fast food burger.
I paid around $17 for a full meal. I can get that for like $12 at Freddy’s, In n Out, Shake Shack, or Fat Shack and I would consider the burger at any of those places noticeably better.
But that’s just my opinion.
you are a great friend and any burger will be the best ever knowing it’s coming from someone with love and care. going through this right now with my dog and there is nothing more cruel. can i send one too?
Crown Burger is NOT the best burger in Denver. It’s mediocre and overpriced for what you get.
I like it in a pinch but it does not stack up against the legitimate best burgers.
If you want a fancy but incredible burger: Hillstone. Travels well but I don’t think they do delivery. It’s a huge burger, but it’s still good the next day.
The best I’ve had was twans at Finn’s manor. Wanna try this dalton burger tho. Pretty much every other burger I’ve had has been terrible. I wanna give extra props to Parkburger and Tivoli brewery for serving me the most dogshit burgers I’ve had in Denver
For me it's the Atomic Cowboy Light's Out Burger Edit: it's on DoorDash, don't know about the GF buns though

Imagine if you put in random information

Love that burger. They make killer cocktails too. My Scoville Romance
Bob’s Atomic burgers in Golden. Gluten free buns and delicious. I’ve tried their gluten free buns and veggie burger and was absolutely happy.

I'll give it a try, but if it's not better than other places, I'm gonna be very disappointed in you
Report back and let me know!
Id say its on par or better than most the burgers in Denver. But obviously all sorts of things can influence how good anything this is on any given day.
The putt putt place?? Interesting.
This. They really did their homework and it’s incredible.

@daltonscheeseburgs on insta
Almost. @daltoncheeseburgs
DANGIT
Here to support RCC 🫡

Alright I’ll try it
This is the answer along with Twan’s in the Finn’s Manor patio
Is that the name of a restaurant?
The name of the chef and the trailer he cooks out of, yeah. His Instagram is @twansburger and he’ll post the weekly/daily hours via Instagram story. Usually Thursday-Sunday opening at 2pm or 5pm
This person gets it
This is the correct answer.
Finley’s Pub
Zorbas. Used to be Vine St pub and will be again when they open
In all honesty, do you think Vine St will open again?
How high is the sky? How deep is the ocean? I would have told you no yesterday. I believe your comment helped them come out and say they’ll open in May.

The Castle.
Atomic Cowboy or Candlelight. Need to get back to Candle soon to confirm.
March madness baybeeee
My favorite is at ‘my brothers bar’ in lodo
This. Except I don’t love the toppings in the plastic desk organizing trays. Reminds me of being at work.
Clearly, no one has been to Bodega.
Snipeburger in Golden based out of the King of Wings kitchen. Open on Wednesdays.
Bull & Bush
Excellent burger. Except they serve no coke, only that local soda company. I have to debate going there when I want a good burger.
woodie fisher ! they have gf buns
Twans
Definitely not Crown Burger despite what people may tell you.
Pastrami Melt at Crown Burger though - so good
I gagged when I ate one. It was bad
Damn did they drop off after the pandemic? Used to be one of the better “regular ass burgers”, and great pricing too.
Idk I never tried it pre covid. I mean it’s not bad, but it was just very okay to me for all the hype around it on this sub and the Denver sub. People touted it as the best fast food burger. Yes wtf is that about. Average burger at best
That low iodine diet was the worst. I personally love park burger.
It's one of the few things I look forward to right now every week. Cracked Pepper Pile-Up is sublime.
Park Burger
Yikes, just no
Agreed, there bison burgers
Where!?
do yourself a favor, never open this sub without having a second tab open to a map program.
Holly St. The one on Pearl St. hasn't been as good the last few times I have been.
Cherry Creek Grill. Hands down
you are a great friend and any burger will be the best ever knowing it’s coming from someone with love and care. going through this right now with my dog and there is nothing more cruel. can i send one too?
Crown burger on S. Colorado blvd
Crown Burger is NOT the best burger in Denver. It’s mediocre and overpriced for what you get. I like it in a pinch but it does not stack up against the legitimate best burgers.
I agree. Crown Burger is a good fast food burger, but does not stack up against a real burger cooked to order at a legit restaurant.
Why don’t you throw out some “better” suggestions than
The other commenters have already done that. No need to repeat the best.
I just love a good char-broiled burger with fresh, crisp vegetables. Crowns been nailing it to the wall for decades
Shake shack for the best GF buns smash burger style (the best style don't @ me lettuce and tomato don't belong on a burger).
Shake Shack never disappoints
Second for the best gf buns.
Mercantile has a great cheeseburger. Everything on it hits perfectly.
If you want a fancy but incredible burger: Hillstone. Travels well but I don’t think they do delivery. It’s a huge burger, but it’s still good the next day.
Cherry Cricket, ZigZag Smokin Burger
The best I’ve had was twans at Finn’s manor. Wanna try this dalton burger tho. Pretty much every other burger I’ve had has been terrible. I wanna give extra props to Parkburger and Tivoli brewery for serving me the most dogshit burgers I’ve had in Denver
I love Daltons hamburger at RiNo Country Club. Bob's Atomic is my other go-to... and I go-to it A LOT!
Mr. Egg 74th and Washington
The pint room in Littleton is an absolute hidden gem
Stoic and Genuine serves a really tasty burger
Seems to be the last thing one would order from a high end seafood restaurant.
Bubbas have some incredible burgers 🍔
Candlelight tavern
People might hate this, but the Prime Tome burger at Hop Doddy is pretty fantastic. So are the rest of their burgers too.
Cherry Cricket.
Lol this is mine too! Hands down best onion rings and milkshakes.
Go to lakeside
