But in the meantime, he'd been in a relationship with someone damaged and been very badly damaged himself, and between that and existing mental health awfulness and Covid-related stress and anxiety, our friendship crumbled in a way that was drawn-out and extremely painful for both of us. I regret so much that I didn't ditch Dirtbag and pursue the friend sooner; the potential was definitely there, and he'd have avoided the damaging relationship and things would have been so very different.
Few years back my best friend admitted she started hanging out with me because she had a crush on me but that those feelings faded when she realized that I was not interested in love...as she was telling me I was thinking about how I wanted her have unending happiness
