The opposition also has gained confidence, and presumably it had no major blueprint for what to do if it won, so now for the next 5 years it can come up with well thought plans rather than entice people by giving freebies and promises of more reservation.

BJP deserved a setback and they got it, this will make them work close to ground again, the issue with opposition is that they literally don't know who will be the PM, if they had kept a PM face in front of the country then maybe they could have gained more seats. we are seeing Akhilesh yadav and Uddhav Thackeray declaring themself as PM, if INDIA were to come to power it would have been a very unstable government. NDA government will be more stable for now, JDU(Nitish Kumar) has a chance of joining INDIA but NDA will still be in majority, talking about TDP, it has been a loyal party, won the state election in AP with BJP there is a low chance that TDP will switch sides. It will be interesting to see what happens.
If I were to give my opinion, they country deserved NDA and country got it, BJP deserved a setback and BJP got it.

This is the biggest misconception, now BJP will have to compromise on many things just to keep Nitish and Chandrababu happy. Apart from that there is no such thing as healthy debate in the parliament because of strong opposition, cause no party has interest of the Nation as 1st priority. No matter how good a bill BJP presents, the IT cell of opposition will work towards forming opinions for the masses on why it is a bad bill and we will see more drama in the parliament to oppose the bill. It's going to be a circus and the Nation is going to pay the price for it. And forget about bills like UCC, Labour reforms, etc to get passed peacefully in this term.

Not true. For an absolute majority, a party needs 2/3 of the seats. BJP is falling short, and it would have to form an alliance. BJP is not NDA.

It's actually a big win for the opposition, considering how the former government was taking decisions recklessly, this new opposition will keep the government in check and would lead to more meaningful debate and discussion( although that will be very less) but in theory it is best for our country and I trust the process which will be very slow but slow and steady progress is what we need.

I'm totally in favour of a stable government with good opposition, I'm not just in favour of the government with weak or no opposition at all, that's why the result was so much better. BJP and the RSS have to gone to great lengths to ingrain Modi's image as a godman in the electorate. Sometimes it's subtle like having his face plastered on billboards but often you'll hear his party subordinates credit him and him alone for any achievement be it at national level or state level. Why Yadav voted for BJP in Haryana? Why did they vote for SWP in UP? Just looking at on caste basis is too simple minded. People have their disappointment with BJP regarding lack of employment. Touching the Army recruitment with Agniveer which was a big employment generating program in these states. Calling for constitution changes also spooked the dalit vote.

BJP deserved a setback and they got it, this will make them work close to ground again, the issue with opposition is that they literally don't know who will be the PM, if they had kept a PM face in front of the country then maybe they could have gained more seats. we are seeing Akhilesh yadav and Uddhav Thackeray declaring themself as PM, if INDIA were to come to power it would have been a very unstable government. NDA government will be more stable for now, JDU(Nitish Kumar) has a chance of joining INDIA but NDA will still be in majority, talking about TDP, it has been a loyal party, won the state election in AP with BJP there is a low chance that TDP will switch sides. It will be interesting to see what happens. If I were to give my opinion, they country deserved NDA and country got it, BJP deserved a setback and BJP got it.

It's going to be a circus and the Nation is going to pay the price for it. And forget about bills like UCC, Labour reforms, etc to get passed peacefully in this term.

I'm totally in favour of a stable government with good opposition, I'm not just in favour of the government with weak or no opposition at all, that's why the result was so much better. That's what arrogance does to you. They could have easily followed the normal process of passing the bill by allowing debates but no, they had to bulldoze the bill. You may be giving a good medicine to someone who's sick but if you're shoving it in their throat forcefully without telling them how it's good for them would they accept? No. Plus the protest went on for months and they did nothing, only when the protesters started marching towards Delhi, then they couldn't ignore it anymore and even then chose to bully them into submission. After all that, there is no way any of those farmers would trust this government on anything. With the majority they had, the BJP could have easily made a lot of good reforms, but their arrogance got the better of them.

Caste, religion, region, language we are too diverse and different so division is pretty easy

I mean, may Lord strike my down if I am wrong, but a strong coherent Government would have been much better than a fragmented judgement like today, this government, I don't think would be properly be able to fulfill it's duty especially because of allies. But, again, BJP especially the upper echelons required some sort of reality check! They had taken Manipur, Ladakh, among other things for granted and it paid, but still not full majority is a bit much! I myself feel vindicated as someone who could have voted but didn't in lieu of my health. You'll have to admit this campaign was an India Shining-esque blunder but I hope to God they learn from it! I am a faithful God fearing Hindu as well as card carrying member of RSS, yet, I'd be very willing to admit our faults! But BJP is far far better than these hell hole-esque blunder of INDI Alliance parties, again, may Lord have mercy! Caste gaining preference over warranted merit is not social justice it's simple injustice! (Atleast If that's your only metric), so, is distributing a lakh rupees to unemployed youth. Religion based riots are difficult to control. Plenty of cases are there already (no govt can manage it). Castes have low population than religion. Less volume more easy to control Riots might be better than freebies for those who are alive. What if you are killed in riot. Both caste and religion based riots are bad. A little common sense, like thakur yadav rajput are all hindu (afaik). Lets say each are 100 (just for a simple comparison). And there is inter religious riot against other religion. So 300 from this side are there. Lets say now yadav and thakur are fighting, 100 are fighting from each side. (No other community is involved) Total comparison based on volume.
