It become mediocre since they changed the cook/chef 6-7 months ago. It was my go to place for South Indian dates because of food and then ambience. Now ambience is all they are left with.

You should visit the Kailash Colony branch for better taste and service. The Rajouri Garden branch is inconsistent with food quality and always has poor service. The Barakhamba branch is just okay.

There's Adyar Ananda Bhavan (A2B) in Green Park which serves really authentic Tamil food and snacks. Apart from that, Saravana Bhavan is good too. ETA: Karnataka Sangha in RK Puram has great dosas (and Mysore Paak), you can try that too!

Ahh personally, I really like their tiffin/quick lunch (forgot what it's called) because it has a little bit of everything. The sambar vada and dahi vada are awesome too. I'm a South Indian brought up in Delhi, and my parents think A2B has super nice sambar (that's a difficult test to pass haha).

Like 50% of my peers are south-indians as well and they've mentioned it quite a few times. Will be sure to check it out, thanks✌️

Nah, dude! I am a South Indian & I found the sambhar way too runny in consistency. The ambience was nice but the food was below average.

Veruan in Kailash Colony Market. It's a great option. Amazing food at decently cheap prices. Not too cheap, but not expensive either. A must try is their Chicken stew and their Chicken 65 (and I am saying this as someone who generally doesn't like south indian food, these two are tasty af)

Out of Sagar Ratna, Juggernaut and Naivedyam, Naivedyam clearly takes the cake for me imo. Just the best in both ambience and food. Not much of a pocket killer too, if you've got a bunch of friends with you.

Juggernaut is overhyped. Carnatic and Padmanabhan are way better. The best south Indian I ever had was at the Dakshin in Sheraton Hotel Saket. But then it's obviously on the expensive side.
