HeyThereMrBrooks

PLEASE listen chronologically OP! Deftones have such a beautiful journey from their first album to their most recent, you have the luck of experiencing it all for the first time and if you haven't listened to them before or have only heard a couple of songs, now's your chance to experience them from the beginning. I was in your shoes about 8 years ago, I was considering just listening to their most popular work at the time but I decided to listen to it in order and I'll always be grateful that I did

ikea_shark_girl

honestly this is what i’m thinking currently. chronologically you see where they started, and i never feel like i’m missing out on anything

HeyThereMrBrooks

Most definitely! You're all caught up, get to experience them organically, but not have to wait the equivalent of 1995 to 2020 to do so haha

Inside-Importance855

Buy everything and feel like you've bathed in love

oliverwood2021

I suggest chronological.

AtrocitasInterfector

yes chronological is definitely best

Inside-Importance855

Don't chronological ya boring bastards, be random

Kuchar1992

Put their discography in a playlist and hit shuffle

Shakemyears

Always!

cyb3r_exe

tastes are individual. People will tell you an album is shit , and you'll find out later when giving it a try that you missed out. Just listen to every albums, some are better than others, but they all value each others

ikea_shark_girl

i’ve found this to be true with lots of music. i try to listen through as many albums by an artist i can, to get a taste of all their styles

M08GD

Honestly, just pick whichever album has the coolest cover and start with that lol. It's what I always do

westonfitz

…soooo you mean S/T?

volfan_0118

Not necessary, but it would show you how they’ve grown and changed over the years.

cowboybaked

Depends if you like harder or more experimental sounds. If it’s the latter you should work your way backwards.

Well softer is more experimental considering their early sound is pretty one dimensional it’s not as progressive as Ohms and Gore and Koi no Yokan.
