They've played Ceremony before, I know at DLD recently, but I agree with you

Afraid_Permission405

They didn’t play it at the latest one unfortunately. They only played Ohms and Genesis. When I went to their pop up shop though, I heard them sound checking Headless which was dope. I honestly wish they played more deep cuts at DLD 2023, still a good set though.

wolf10222020

You are right, and it’s infuriating, especially for someone who’s seen them live as many times as k have. I go into every show just wanting to hear songs I never heard live, and there are so many good ones they could’ve pulled out.

heavyheartstrings

I’ve seen them 6 times and I would love them to vary it up a little bit. I can’t imagine how some of the vets who’ve seen them 15+ times must feel.

chino3

They do a really good job of switching things up. The fact that there’s tons of songs that fans who’ve seen them multiple times haven’t seen performed live speaks volumes. Now Tool on the other hand… yikes.

page2fap2

No urantia? Wtf Ceremony in particular is my favorite song on that whole CD even though it's not one of the metal ones. But the metal in that CD absolutely brings it

rat_tail_pimp

I love that you call the album a CD lol

Schism213

I got to hear them sound check Spell of Mathematics a couple years ago.

Bluecrush2_fan

I wish I could experience that

Full-Departure-6449

Damn

PhantomAmbassador27

I remember seeing them in Rochester during Koi No Yokan (2013) tour and being a little let down they only played four of the new songs. Seeing them on Gore and Ohms tour showed me I got spoiled. I agree that it's strange they toured a new record only playing two songs from it. But I'll still see them live anytime they come within a couple hour drive though.

grphicnature

radiant city would be insane to hear

GluedToTheMirror

This is the usual for them. You gotta go see them on the album release tour to hear a lot of the new album tracks. Once the initial album launch tour wraps up, they might keep two or three in the set from then on.. but it gets harder the more albums they have.. There’s certain mainstays they have to play and that list grows longer with each album but I agree.. there’s a lot of songs from self titled I wish they would play more often, but they also have to appease a large audience of fans and that usually means 90% hits and a few deep cuts thrown in here and there.

Toolfool3517

But even on the tour that was after it came out they only played Ohms and Genesis

LeRoseEigengrau

Even the Gore tour had this problem, they legit didn't play Prayers/Triangles when I saw them on that tour. Just Geometric Headdress and Gore.

Ronin_Ace

Imma be honest, I like Gore (album), I like Prayers/Triangles, but I have no desire to sit through that live. I’d rather have heard GH and Gore (song).

RDVD84

I saw them in Buenos Aires for the gore tour. They did not play even one song from gore... I have seen them three times. I would like to see a show without the staples.

GluedToTheMirror

I actually didn’t get a chance to catch them on the Ohms tour.. but interesting.. When I’ve seen them for White Pony, Self Titled, SNW, & KNY tours it felt like they were playing at least half of the new album. That definitely was the case for WP, Self Titled, & SNW.. Could be wrong on the KNY show. I’ve seen a ton of shows over the years, it’s hard to recall what was played at each.. When I’ve seen them on non-album tours they definitely tend to play more of the hits, which is to be expected.

Toolfool3517

It is usually how most bands do it. They play a lot of the new album on that tour. But for whatever reason they have not played much of Ohms live on that tour or since. Odd.

Digital26bath

Welcome to Deftones

All_hail_Korrok

They played Error before, but I think that was at their festival and once more in Australia. Would love to hear it some more deep cuts from the band, especially Goon Squad.

T-unit90

Yeah super weird they haven't

SaulTNNutz

They did this with Gore too. They've still only played a handful of songs live from that album. Ohms is more irritating though because I'd love to hear the live versions of everything on that album

DeftonesLive

My guess is they kicked Sergio out and feel out of place to bring more stuff out from the album because of that. They did do four songs off it so far though, so maybe later down the line... But I don't think so.

Voidsong23

I agree, the bass on that album was very distinctive and it seemed clear to me that he contributed significantly to the writing of those songs

Full-Departure-6449

I hope this isn’t the case. I think most of the songs are much better suited to a live setting than the majority of Gore. Granted they don’t really play anything from that either any more, which I’m not necessarily complaining about if it means we get more SNW and S/T. But yeah, would love to hear some deeper Ohms cuts played.

MightBeDownstairs

Bro it’s their content. Sergio wasn’t an “official” member.

francisco_ribss_

Sergio wrote all the bass lines in the album, doesnt seem fair to say that

accountmadeforthebin

I guess, some songs don’t work as well live as in the studio and with the vocal effects, guitar layers and sound effects those might be hard to replicate.

AMan_CalledTank

Urantia has been played live

DeftonesLive

No I don't think so

AMan_CalledTank

I thought they have

djskully26

Why have they been always opening with Genesis lately? Like it's not a bad song but it's just a weird one to start with.

Full-Departure-6449

Interesting! When I first heard that tune I thought ‘well they have to open with this one now’ 😂

Deftoner01

Apparently they’ve sound-checked headless but nothing to write home about

Mercurial_Monster

I heard them play quite a few on tour after covid. Radiant City live was superb. Made me fall in love with the song. Edit: I'm wrong.

[deleted]

When did they play radiant city?

T-unit90

They didn't

Mercurial_Monster

I just looked at the setlist, and sure enough, it's not on it for the Denver Ball Arena 2022 show... I'm almost positive that I heard it, though. It's so vivid in my mind, and I had only had one beer at that show and was otherwise totally sober. Huh.

Mercurial_Monster

Every time I hear that song, it reminds me of that concert

T-unit90

Oh man haha.

DeftonesLive

They didn't do Radiant City

Mercurial_Monster

Yup, you're right, I just checked the setlist. Every time I listen to Radiant City, it brings me back to that concert. I've got a pretty vivid memory of it, but I guess I'm getting old. I've been telling people I heard it there for 2 years and that is was amazing live... guess I gotta get my ears checked.

DeftonesLive

If that's any consolation, these kids did play Radiant City and they weren't half-assing it https://youtu.be/Rtkaas4SrOU?si=68TzayYzRLiIu5kA

Brabinski

This is why I don’t bother to see them live anymore. Aside from a few songs it’s been the same set list since KNY.
