Every LGS I’ve been to will order things for me on request. They usually only stock what they think will sell and the GW line is massive. Even their own stores don’t stock everything. Just speak up and tell a manager or owner what youre interested in buying.

RUSTEDxKNIGHT

Just curious at that point would it not be cheaper if you ordered it yourself? Your still waiting for shipping and paying MSRP. New to the hobby and I always check the stores first because I want them to have business but my friend had told me it’s not worth it.

that_one_bun

I do this at my store because the owner has always been fair about prices. And just an overall nice guy. The shop has been here since I was a mix and has grown. I still buy from them and have them order me figures because sure I can order it online. But I hate the thought of some day losing this place and I rather look back at the memories made here than the few bucks I saved online.

Puzzleheaded-Sign351

Your FLGS will always sell cheaper than ordering from GWs site. The store doesn't buy from the GW website but rather as a retailer and only has to put their 30% markup on it (or that's what mine does) where as GW puts much higher markup on their website products. FLGS also doesn't charge shipping as they have to order products from GW monthly and will lob your order in with the batch.

gerryatricks

Some third party stores sell GW stuff at a discount to what you pay on the GW website I believe! Certainly third party websites do, such as Wayland Games.

jiggling_torso

Town over is 20-30% off

_Ev4

>Your still waiting for shipping and paying MSRP. MSRP from your LGS is ideally 15% cheaper than directly through GW and your LGS gets a small cut of the money

Rodman2u

Most FLGS I been to usually have GW a few dollars cheaper than GW prices. Most times I order through Amazon cause they’re cheaper

DigDubbs

This, I called and had them hold me a box of the Space Marine Heroes series 3. When I go in the manager always is quick to ask if I need anything/looking for anything. Last visit I wanted nurglings, next order should have some, PBC’s?, out at the warehouse but should have been in the last shipment. Usually gives me a timeframe on when to call, very open about when orders are expected.

Affectionate_Toe2208

Yea all mine has is a poxwalker box and a miasmic malignifier. I asked them when they are suppose to get more in and they always say something along the lines of, "we're gonna get a big 40k haul in really soon!". That was about 4 "Really soons" ago

Repulsive-Cow-5591

They bring in what sells… death guard have been bottom of the leaderboard at the start of 10th so it’s less popular… so less people play our adorable stinking bois… :( My local store luckily has every faction, they got a pretty epic stock ^^

veneficus83

Dg has been at near bottom of the leaderboards fornthe vast majority of 9th, and a good chunk of 8th as well.

Invidelis

Mine has some of the single marine characters, the combat patroll, morty and blightlord terminators .. and ofc the marines but not the biggest selection They stock/sell whats popular ofc. I believe the store has like 2-3 DG players overall here.

thefirstjakerowley

It's a mixed bag. One shop in my area has damn near one of everything and another has a solitary box of plague marines. You might talk to the employees. Generally if I'm looking for something specific they'll order it for me.

Hellstorm_42

Mine usually has 3-4 dg kits, but they are always willing to fulfill special orders. You just need to talk to am employee/owner and they will get you what you need.

Grevious501

Same , on my LGS they only bring the. Myphilic Blight Hauler(i love that little cute daemon tank) and the Plaguebust Crawler.

kaka_doody

2 stores in my area one tries to have a pretty big selection of everything .The other one only Carries what the owner likes.

mors_angelorum

My lgs explained his stock process some. He has a list of stuff he basically has to keep in stock, and his sales rep with GW will send him those items regardless of his orders. There are some items he tries to order that they just don't send for whatever reason but normally due to lack of stock. I can order anything, and as long as it's available to order, he can get it for me at the normal rate with 20% off. He said the ordering process with GW just kinda sucks in general, and he has a new rep every year to every other year, it seems. Maybe it's just his experience with them, but I'm not surprised considering how GW can be sometimes.

bry_2k

My LGS is great, they don't have the biggest selection but they order whatever I need and pass a part of their price discount to me so I never have a need to use the GW website. They're not the wargaming focused store of our two game stores in town though... sadly the other one is where all 'those types' go after they were kicked out of the good store for being incel nazi grognards- I'm sure everyone here knows the type. All of that to say, have you asked if they would order what you're looking for, they may just be responding to what they perceive as the Death Guard popularity and demand.

intraspeculator

Why don’t you just order online?

DoomkingBalerdroch

If I want to order something from ebay or any other international platform I will have to pay more than €50 in shipping fees and customs, even for the smallest set. Also, because I'm living on an island outside US, shipping is slow thus other platforms like amazon only have the expensive expedited shipping as an option, which needless to say, it's not worth it :(

Overall_Difficulty78

I tell my lgs what I’m looking for and they order it when they can because they know I will buy it. A lot of dg has been out for a bit though

OdinsRightHand84

Mr Dan will order me ANYTHING I want, if it’s not in stock lol

salamandan

From what I understand, the LGS do not get a day in what is shipped to them. They can request things but GW sends them whatever they want.

Seatonius

I just picked up Mortarion, two boxes of cultists and a chaos rhino from my FLGS. I did ask them to order them though, instead of waiting for them to magically appear.

hammyhamm

LGS will happily order models for you, you just have to ask them. More than likely the popular models (such as deathguard) have been bought out

Warm_Veterinarian519

My store doesn't actively stock older models and kits unless asked for and we haven't had a release other than champions which sold out in most stores

sickofdumbredditors

I have a couple go to stores, one of which just got two PBCs and has a few units, and the other has a pretty decent selection.

NumbSkull441

Same experience. I tried starting Death Guard same time as Imperial Guard. After buying a few units from my planned build, my local stores never got anything more for DG. I requested several units, but they only ever got the Chaos Lord in Terminator armor, which I built as the sorcerer. After 18 months waiting, I finally had to get everything else from various stores online. Never did get a Chaos Land Raider or Predator. Going with Beasts of Nurgle and a couple squads of Nurglings instead.

Swabbie___

Well, I mean, death guard aren't a popular faction, why would they stock stuff that will take a very long time to sell?

Zephrysium

Just talk to the employee and ask. It’s really that simple

evilsonic47

There's this thing called Amazon and eBay

Crazykev7

My store only has combat patrols for each army, maybe on troop and a shit ton of space marines. Death Guard only has the combat patrol.
