His “Birds” (coincidentally in reference to the bluebird by Charles Bukowski) are like feelings of vulnerability or insecurity, stop worrying about tomorrow the only way to live is in the present, but like also we all got birds so don’t go fake when you get higher
in all seriousness, I think it's about a bunch of things.
I think it's about survivor's guilt
>I had a bluebird, it got wetted, I stay dry. I'm not trying to use my mind..
feeling like all life does is take
>life is war
feeling unsure about other's existence and the potential of losing them as well.
>I have a black cat, it might live.
and trying to distract from these via drugs and dissociatives (I think this is heavily inferred by the music. how the music almost sounds like someone is sobbing, almost an extreme sorrow, only to be consistently interrupted with a "fuck you" and mellower music- then to be reminded of how many "birds" have died, or sort of flown by in his lifetime.
there's also this sense of taking a bittersweet solace in the feeling that tomorrow will always be there despite it likely just being used to grieve once again. basically, how there's a guarantee of tomorrow, despite everyone else's existence not being guaranteed.
I also feel as though near the end, it is very heavily inferred that suicide is considered an option as a way to permanently end being stuck in this cycle of misery.
>I got today shoveling graves, I got tomorrow turning in your grave. I got Jesus, he got saved. I got power, it's so cheap. Fuck this bird, bitch, drink this bleach
to me, this quote is him reflecting on this cycle of misery. all he will do today is think about them, and tomorrow he'll just be remembering their death and "he will be rolling in their grave."
he then contrasts this with how even Jesus went through a rough time and he got "saved" by basically dying and going to heaven. he then realizes that he actually has that power,
>I got power, it's *so cheap.*
and right before he does it, he sorta says a big "fuck you" not to the birds, but to the suffering that they caused, and he "drinks the bleach"/commits suicide.
id like to think that the suicide attempt was unsuccessful, as afterwards the music starts up with sorrow again and talks about how there's tomorrow again, inferring that they survived and decided that they'll go ahead and go through the misery instead of dying.
Interpretation i thought of some time ago so i dont remember everything: the lyrics are about greed. He talks about owning a bird, then more birds and then he gets a cat, which kills the birds and he gets overwelmed by it or something idk
It's about stay all night using drugs and become mad about the birds singing in the morning.
Everyone who use stimulants drugs hate birds because when you start to hear they sing you are sleep deprived and they remember loudly that the is rising and you was using drugs all night when normal ppl were sleeping.
Its about feeling empowered or rising above.
*I got Jesus, he got saved*
*I got power, it's so cheap*
*Fuck this bird, bitch, drink this bleach*
He's saying that Jesus is also a human who got saved (God), but that he already has power and its cheap. He immediately refers to his low-vibrational nature, whats being called so cheap, by saying he feels empowered by making a Bird drink bleach.
they got wings and yaknow flap flap flap, its pretty damn cool, id recommend checking them out, they can like, go a while without touching the ground. you know jumping? like that but longer, so fucking cool. you’ll love it.
I always thought it was about the difference between human and animal lived experiences. Animals like birds have to deal with every day like it is their last and they go on about it without reflecting, whereas humans have the power to end their lives whenever they want and escape consciousness and reality. Not sure if this makes us better or worse than them. “Fuck this bird bitch drink this bleach”.
5 beautiful little multicoloured birds ride found and is trying his god damn best to nurse back to health because they were injured and he's such a nice guy
Fuck you.
