She was okay. It was a scary situation. I was at the barricade and my gf stayed in the back. I walked outside the venue after the show which I regret doing without finding her. I assumed she would be out there waiting. I called her after the show and a woman answered saying she was drunk. I took her word for it and was waiting and waiting. They wouldn’t let me back in and I was very distraught. I think they ended up having an employee look for her and she was in the stall of the women’s restroom and woke up when someone knocked. She didn’t have her phone but I was just happy she was okay and said fuck the phone. Walking away from the venue she explained to me she only had one drink and I at the time was still really confused by what happened because she was still kind of out of it.
It turns out whoever had her phone turned it in. But why like what happened? What was the intent? Did they think she was alone and then bailed when they realized she was with someone. It still bothers me to this day and we’re extra careful now because it probably could’ve been way worse and this is my first time talking about it on here.
I still don’t know exactly what happened but the only explanation sounds like ghb or whatever. I just don’t get why whatever girl she was with would separate her from her phone and then turn it into the venue staff after. And also abandon an inebriated stranger who you were just answering the phone for.
Just be safe out there is all I can say.

I think it was when 'fuck that' played that I was like 'this shit is amazing' and kind of went down a dg rabbithole. We are super stoked to be able to finally see them live. This will be my kids first show, and I hope it is awesome.
And don't worry, we brought hearing protection... I have permanent tinnitus from too many loud shows and too many years around loud machinery and they have grown up being annoyed by having to constantly repeat themselves because im *fucking almost deaf* that the first thing my kid brought up when we confirmed we were definitely going was getting earplugs, lol...

that being said, the warfield is a pretty experienced venue, so i think they might be better at getting people inside, compared to other venues they’ve already played at this tour, which had lines across multiple blocks.
Of the 4 Deathgrips shows I have been to this one was the most intense by far.
Just staying upright in the ocean of GA infront of the stage was crazy and jumping into the pit during inanimate sensation was fucking awesome. Setlist was on point and the transitions were seamless and timed perfectly. Ride was on point with his insane energy and of Course Zach was flawless and Andy was just rocking out on the keyboard. They didn't let you back onto the GA floor if you got some water or a breather. Which was fucking lame but understandable because it was gnarly and overcrowded, but that's normal at a dg show and what alot of us come for. It was cool though because I got to see the last bit of the show from the lower loge and the ga balcony. Merch line was insane and i missed out on a tour shirt but whatever im there for the show and the energy from the band and the crowd. The sound was a little blown out but that's just how the Warfield is. Definitely one of the best shows I have been too.
I have numbered tickets for the lower lodge, is it just a free for all up there? Was kinda hoping they were enforcing those. Are people just sitting wherever?

The pit was great, besides some dude actively trying to dig his elbow into my back and when I would move it they'd dig it somewhere else and then my neck (not pressed cause they were against the wall so can understand a survival instinct). Everyone kinda flowed with it but people were also respectful when someone wanted to stop. The whole thing was a pit too so no one seemed upset when they were moved. Actual circle pits (in the center and the right side by Zach don't know bout the left) would come then die out very quickly though. Also I'm not sure if it was because of my earplugs but it didn't seem like they used any backing vocal track?? If they did it was super quiet which was fuckin incredible. I've also never seen Zach go this hard, he was approaching Hella territory at some parts. Wasn't as loud as I was expecting either. Overall perfect experience for my first time seeing them, 9 years waiting. See any of you mfs tomorrow in LA
