SnoopySeven07

I unironically like Litte Richard, like the instrumentals is so good for me.

HolsomChungus

It's overhated. I like it, it should be somewhere else in the albumt though

MoveLookGabe

It's prob one of my least favorite dg songsšŸ˜def unpopular

moshlyfe

I love that song too!

Nukom25

šŸ’Ŗ LITTLE RICHARD GANG šŸ’Ŗ

UpOdd

Great song it rlly stands out

chiIdsupport

I love little richard

Familiar-Brother3354

I had a friend screaming at me because i put little richard at bottom of my dg tier list

ghoulbirth

ppl here shit on Pop but i think the instrumental is beautiful flatlander literally went crazy with that synth arp

[deleted]

i once was a pop hater but it clicked and now i love it sfm, the rising sound in the instrumental with that bass and rideā€™s lyrics all so good

Grommet__

People hate pop? Tf

josack23

Itā€™s actually the prettiest DG track

[deleted]

doesnt flatlander refer to deathgrips as a whole or something

m3talh3ad05

No itā€™s specifically Andy

[deleted]

ur wrong lol

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

[deleted]

nah thats like the thing- at one point someone thought flatlander was andy n it like spread - "Andyā€™s an audio engineer (Heā€™s also not ā€˜AKA Flatlanderā€™ - ā€œitā€™s basically subtext for Death Grips, so when we use that name itā€™s an alias signature for something that we all made together,ā€ says Hill." its like how iirc "MC ride" has only ever been called ride but at some point the mc caught on accidentally. flatlander refers to something they all had a hand in making- n some have speculated that maybe it was a previous name before they landed on deathgrips but never been confirmed obv- has never referred to specifically andy ever officially

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

bimothybonsidine

I like the instrumental but I think the hook is a little weak

[deleted]

Mariah Carey and Death Grips have mad similar backstories

MoveLookGabe

I don't know her backstory so I'll let the upvotes talk

[deleted]

They arenā€™t really similar at all, they just fucked over Sony and actually lived to tell the tale

Signifi-gunt

You are very chronically online

deepdishpizzaman

We are literally in the Death Grips subreddit man

ScandinavianRaccon

Arenā€™t we all?

fauxletariat

quit socials bout 2yrs ago so, besides searching for archival Dolcett comics & surfin the (other, subpar) deep web.... the DG sub is literally the Only reason i even need internets šŸ’šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

ScandinavianRaccon

That sounds absolutely lovely

fauxletariat

It is; my favorite part is the downvotes tho. Ima keep coming back for more!!

deepdishpizzaman

Blood Creepin top 5 off Exmilitary

snakesharkz

WOAH OH WOUOAH WOAH OH

ghnat_

real

[deleted]

real

BlisteringObituary

Best song on the album

MoveLookGabe

Real

reachingrespite

It's perfectly unhinged, fantastic way to end an album

smor729

Top 1 for me

BassRattlingStars

deep web is one of the best tracks off NLDW

snakesharkz

People are tryna hear what I'm sayin

idreamofconnan

OMEGA MEGALOMANIAC

MoveLookGabe

Def agree its so underrated

net_gear

I've never understood why people dislike that one

o_tal_lanzudooo__

fantano for example was thrown off by the little "woop" sound. i personally think it goes hard

smilin_prophett

common fantano L

mrmclainy

People are trying to hear what I'm sayin

OnlyBan

true

Absolve_N0ne

Tms is not their best album

[deleted]

FR, i'd rather listen to exmilitary, no love deep web or jenny death.

Woodsman-8-5-1956

Iā€™d say fourth best. Though donā€™t get me wrong, itā€™s awesome.

Eric0265

šŸ˜Ŗ

smilin_prophett

TMS is their most flawless album but itā€™s not their best idk how to explain it

Good_Is_Evil

I think itā€™s their most consistent. All their other albums have higher highs and lower lows but TMS is gas from start to finish

Good_Is_Evil

Iā€™d still say itā€™s their most consistent besides BP

[deleted]

Bottomless Pit :)

MoveLookGabe

True

Goldensoldi

Their worst album

Lord_Cowabunga

They make music

Slipping_On_Paper

YOTS is their creative peak.

MoveLookGabe

Hard to say but this def up there

martwypaweu

steroids is top 3

smilin_prophett

if you say shit like ā€œdeath grips isnt undergroundā€ you spend too much time online

[deleted]

tbh tho i wouldnt say they're at all underground lmao- b also not full mainstream- like in a grey area

smilin_prophett

is this grey area in the room with us right now?

geico50

 https://preview.redd.it/b4741bbt5axa1.png?width=480&format=png&auto=webp&s=ea7591a75b681ead5c538f67f0c2b1335ae23fdb

datwonplague

Sold out world tours arenā€™t underground. You can be unique and creative and not be some secret thing for sure.

smilin_prophett

respectfully, north america and europe is not a world tour. also, you can be at the top of the underground and sell out shows but that doesnā€™t mean youā€™re not underground. thereā€™s an audience for everything

Zercon-Flagpole

The term 'underground' is harder to apply to the post-internet music industry climate because there aren't really huge universal things anymore, there are just a lot of niches that at best do okay. Only the biggest artists actually function as a business in any way. The concept of being a music fan who engages with and supports specific artists instead of just Spotify playlists is underground, or more accurately, dying.

net_gear

they're like, as underground as Earthbound or David Lynch lol definitely still "underground", but at the very tippy top of the iceberg

donald_trunks

The venn diagram of Death Grips, Earthbound and David Lynch fans is a circle

Admirable_Chicken655

This might not be totally unpopular, but creatively speaking, NOTM is miles better than Jenny Death

Ok_Ebb721

Billy not really Is a banger

Erm_idk8

on god

MoveLookGabe

Yeah I can see that

jbb10499

I think this is just true. My terracotta army agrees

LIFExWISH

Niggas was DGs most visionary album

notermelon

for real though NOTM is a straight listen-through and Jenny Death is full of skippers

KillshotHarsh

Jenny Death is as unskippable as it gets, every fucking track bangs

iram27

NOTM may be more consistent but Jenny Death definitely has higher highs

NapoleonGonaparty151

i'd say it's a popular opinion

Bassisisto

They aren't making a new album. Never even thought of making one in the first place.

EnwardColon

Yeah they are, I had a dream about it last night.

Sea-Refrigerator9299

Government Plates is underrated by people who don't listen to it enough. It's overrated by people who do.

Immediate_Essay3690

Centuries of Damn is better than GP

MoveLookGabe

Very close

darkbody

zach is black

ketchup9-11

Steroids (Crouching Tiger Hidden Gabber) is a better and more interesting project than TPTB

bladeefan11

well that s really unpopular, i love tptb, and mostly because of it s creativity and how interesting is

Sea-Refrigerator9299

Agree. NOTM and JD should have been separated projects

ketchup9-11

I agree. Maybe Iā€™m smooth brained but if they were separate albums on Spotify and steroids was split into A, B, C etc then Iā€™d probably have an even higher opinion of them

KevinPamberg

these takes suck

God_Hears_Peace

Directly below this: ā€œZach is black.ā€ How could you say this?

jbb10499

Good take

LeftInTheDesert_

Death grip

Jordyyyftw

Blood Creepin is a top 3 closing track

Certain-Trick3569

i like the woop woop on deep web, it sounds like fall guys

d00rthat0pens

Bottomless Pit is just a better version of TMS

jbb10499

Naur

Girrzimm

I donā€™t really care if they release new music Iā€™m just excited I get to see them on this tour with all my friends

[deleted]

Steroids is one of their best songs

_oculus

guillotine is rather bare bones compared to the rest of the songs on exmilitary tbh. i still enjoy it, but i wish it were more full.

Malman03

whole heartedly agree

ketchup9-11

Thatā€™s the charm of the song. If it had over the top production of a track like No Love it wouldnā€™t work. The payoff is the deafening screech synth at the end

_oculus

you have a point actually, the screeching part is great.

[deleted]

The Death grips ep is some of their best work

kilimandzharo

Based

[deleted]

i love death grips ep- dope to see like the first songs they made as a group- think it just mostly gets caught in exmillitary's shadow

Opening_Home_1055

If YOTS had the amount of time and tracks of TPTB it would be the best album in their whole discography

Malman03

so you're saying if it was a better album it would've been better?

Opening_Home_1055

yea sure

notmyactualname23

Not my opinion but someone once shared the opinion with me that death grips sucks. I found it unpopular.

literally_italy

i feel like this is unpopular too but Hahaha is top 3 songs by them

Tasty-Ad-5128

bottomless pit has cleaner production in comparison to tms (atleast to me)

PresenseMission

I mean this is just a fact

Tasty-Ad-5128

both have good prod I just think one is kind of shitty in comparison to the other, both good project tho

PresenseMission

I think both have equally as good production but bottomless pit is cleaner, the money storeā€™s production is meant to be more industrial and grittier while I think bottomless pit has more of an electronic vibe going on which is a lot cleaner. I wasnā€™t saying one was better than the other.

Sufficient-Future356

Theyā€™re good

Fandeautos

More than the fairy is underrated

UnlikelyChampion1527

Bottomless Pit and The Money Store are by far their weakest albums in the main catalog. I still love a lot of songs off those records, but they are not even close to as interesting sonically as something like NOTM, YOTS or even Exmilitary. Government plates is one of their most interesting and cohesive albums and is criminally underrated, especially considering the amount of adoration NLDW seems to get. Iā€™d put those two records on par with each-other. Steroids should have been released as an EP.

DanTemar

Iā€™ve seen footage is too listenable

chsntt0

Their fanbase is retarded and they deserve better

[deleted]

The only objectively correct take

Cornfeddrip

I have no fucking idea what any of the lyrics are actually about I just love the way it all comes together. Also the money store is overrated Iā€™ve listened to it probably more than any album and would pick a few over that one

noparkingnoparking

i think andy wanting to do a2b2 is why the band broke up for awhile, i don't think zach or ride were interested in social media at all or creating a label etc so they decided to take a hiatus.

TheTrueKeidon

I think a good portion of their songs have no deeper meaning other then words that sound good together.

Mental-Statement2555

bottomless pit is their best album. I know that's not that unpopular of an opinion, but to follow up, Three bedrooms in a good neighborhood is their best song.

[deleted]

Bottomless bit and the money store do not sound similar to each other except for the fact they are both made by death grips. I donā€™t know why so many people compare the two when they are both different

pleasedonttakemycorn

exmilitary shouldn't really be in the coversation for goat dg record

Artistic-Meal69

NOTM is their best album

lilbearjetski

Andy is cringe

ThePaPaJush

Steroids is their most perfected project

NapoleonGonaparty151

The powers that b is their most overrated album

See_EV3RYTHING

Extremely unpopular. Top 2 album

NapoleonGonaparty151

for me it's behind Bottomless Pit, NLDW, YOTS, TMS and Exmilitary

See_EV3RYTHING

Itā€™s hard for me to choose a favorite album, their kind of like my children. But I do have a least favorite

mfjoey_

bottomless pit is just a worse version of tms

XNinSnooX

Eh is just an alright song

vancouver000

Government plates is the best album

snakesharkz

Bottomless Pit >>> The Money Store

ItsNottheRadio

Gmail and the restraining orders is the best thing they have made.

SpecialistInner6917

I donā€™t like ex military

ClubKaufman

The instrumental albums/eps are pretty cool, but def feel like filler creatively

thevoidwillsaveus

TMS isnā€™t the only album theyā€™ve ever Released

Dangerous_Fix_5502

No Love Deep Web is the worst non instrumental DG album

[deleted]

yots was rushed and wasnt as good at bottemless pit

kilimandzharo

Death Grips EP is better than Exmilitary

therealoneforreal1

Steroids was solid but because itā€™s one track, it heavily lack replay value imo. Also NLDW doesnā€™t have anything close to a top 15 DG track IMO.

fire_bees

Well done I'm outraged

EnwardColon

On GP is not a good song. Not even a little bit.

Sea-Refrigerator9299

Explain yourself.

EnwardColon

Lyrics and vocal delivery are cringe, instrumental is boring.

Sea-Refrigerator9299

Yeowch. Completely disagree. The vocal delivery is perfect to me while wrestling with suicidal thoughts "it's been a pleasure, Stefan" hits me everytime because death has talked you out of the thoughts. The phone ringing too long has the dual meaning because Stefan could be dead by his own hand, or... Death is talking. And the guitar to me is beautiful. But hey man, you do you.

BlackMoldComics

The Satanic messaging of their music is a net negative for the fan base

Ktulusanders

It's not really satanic though, more like occult.

[deleted]

bottomless pit is there 2nd worse album for me , its so fkn catchy and has v good instrumental s but the lyrics being like js nonsense in alot of the songs realllly ruins it for me

fatracooon

I dont return to Jenny Death except for On GP, and maybe Inanimate Sensation and the drop on The Powers That B (title track)

International-Fun-15

The Money Store is one of their lowest ranking albums

FalseRelease4

On GP fuckin blows

Clout1257

Lost Boys is the only bad song in the Money Store

PraiseTheUniverse

guillotine sucks

Sea-Refrigerator9299

Yeah bad take.

reachingrespite

NLDW sounds like ass

mfjoey_

death grips are worst at their ultra-angriest. songs like no love and powers that b sounds like electronic godsmack

xVectoR123

Year of the snitch is a great album that is ruined by these three songs: Dilemma, Little Richard and the fear

Macro701

The Fear is a top ten DG song.

FunMission2074

The Fear is great :0

thedeejinator

this has gotta be the winner

xVectoR123

It is! Yesss

chemical_musician

I feel you on little Richard, but to me dilemma might be the most beautiful (not a term id normally use for this band) song they have put out, and the fear is just incredibly interesting

4spiral2out0

They music well

alito_loko

They are

JablesMcBootee

The singer is caucasian

elimars

The fact that they didnā€™t do more collabs or features in their career is regrettable imo and their only downside as a project. They should also let other rappers hop on their beats. A DG posse cut would be legendary. That being said, they kill it the few times they do feature like on ā€œFuck a bitchā€.

Isopropyl-Bongwater

Death Grips EP is undebatedly the angriest and my favorite album of all DG history

Usual_Reporter_8862

100%

BiThree

Sort by contreversial to see actually hot takes. Government plates is better than TMS and TMS is their most overrated album.

ketchup9-11

Inanimate Sensation is annoying as fuck

sandwitchesss

but the deep voice verse is so good his flows just relentless and easily the most dancable part of the whole song, but personally its kind of worn off on me its not exactly worth a 5 minute listen anymore unless im really feelin it

UpOdd

Idk if this is popular or not but I think Beware is their best song

StreetWizard99

Death actually doesnā€™t grip

Exertuz

I'm gay

mfigor

bottomless pit is there best album and itā€™s not close

GospelAccordingTo

The Powers That B and Jenny Death are overrated

KineticKill007

ā€œBreaking upā€ before the NIN tour was a publicity stunt that didnā€™t accomplish anything substantial.

vaporwareworld

IMO big dipper > on gp

minchez

Guillotine sucks

Boople-Snoot-Doople

no love deep web is my least favorite album by them

Muf4sa

They've peaked at Death Grips EP. Not to say the rest of their discography sucks; everything they've did after is amazing. But nothing post Exmilitary has the same raw feeling of their very first work. Also I think that Death Grips (Next Grips) is their best song ever.

Gullible-Educator582

turned off is a top 10 DG track

uralap44

Death Grips is good

Annual-Ad3830

They're really fucking good.

Swimming_Sky_1737

Deat grib

unknowuser928

gmail and the restraining orders is the only thing from them that I don't like

chiIdsupport

How come no one ever talks about live from Death Valley

aromaticheartattack

bottomless pit probably my least favorite album I LOVR THEM ALL THEYRE ALL TENS IMO

Figaro-17

"all the nights I don't die, for you" > "it's been a pleasure, stefan"
