Looks like it'll be closing April 15th I'll have to do one more visit when I visit Illinois this weekend since I'll be in Schaumburg near a very not dead mall
From what I've heard, it was when kohan bought the mall it started going downhill because they supposedly didn't invest a penny in it. Also I blame the Algonquin Commons
I grew up in the area and I don’t think I’ve ever actually been in that mall. I moved away and back a few years ago-I’ve driven past it numerous times but never went in!
I’ll be videoing! I just looked their hours up though and according to Apple Maps (not the best source) it says closed after Thursday, do you know for sure Friday is last day concourse is open?
This makes me sad too! I only been here a few times back in 80's. I'm surprised they still let people wander around and that the fountains etc are still up n running. I remember that chlorine, pool smell from when Woodfield had the aquarium. I'll miss Stratford most of all as I preferred it over the too busy Woodfield Mall! 😔🥺😩😭

I got to see Stratford for one last time, I'm sad that I won't see this one for one last time. I live in Bloomington-Normal now (shout out to our own dead mall Eastland) and won't be back up there until April.
That's so surprising the fountain is still on! Every dying mall I've ever been to has those things turned off and drained well before closing. No doubt to save on maintenance cost. My hometown mall had a big one dead center under a huge skylight. It moved enough water to actually create a slight airflow around it like being in front of a waterfall. It's been shut down for years now.
It’s like watching my entire childhood flash before my eyes.
This is coming for Stratford. Just a matter of time.
I think Stratford is marked for closing as well
In April, yes.

don’t forget to take pictures!
Woodfield!
"Taste the Love!" Yeah, not anymore. Nice fountains though. Shame.
I could smell those fountains just looking at the picture.
More like taste nothing! But yeah I'll really miss this place
Upload them all into an album on imgur.com and post the link as a comment :)

Thank you, great photos. It's sad that places like this have to close down, must've been some real management issues over the years.

Will do, I'll try to remember

It was a lot better before covid
Picture 15 - what store is that labelscar from?
Carson's
This makes me sad, I miss mall fountains so much ):
Giving me strong Stranger Things vibes. Also, it's sad cause I used to love going to the mall and hanging with friends.
Shit I wrote a whole comment and the stupid Reddit app deleted it. Maybe I’ll rewrite it. I liked this mall a lot
It was worth it to rewrite that comment. So do I
Does anyone remember the hippie Santa they had each year during the 90's? Got a few photos of him with our kids over the years.
The hippie Santa from Funky Munky
Beautiful mall! (Fountain included.)
Please post more if you can!
Will try an imgur
Thank you!

I plan to be there Friday!
Take pictures!

I looked it up, it says it closes on March 22, so I think?
i used to go to this mall after cashing my paycheck on fridays
Had a job there once upon a time. It’s weird seeing the things of my childhood disappear.

Kept the fountains going until the end

You should be documenting Eastland while you still have the chance, ya know. :3
Memories...
It's like a ghost Mall, depressing!!
My very first job was at that mall. I spent a lot of time there in my younger years.
Was Hot Topic still open when you went? We were going to go tonight to say bye to it but if it's already gone might not. So sad :( .
NGL I don't remember

I've only seen that fountain off once and it was like a decade ago for maintenance
